  1. Yes that can be easily assumed. Current Bama and 2001 Miami fans like to think they were great on both sides of the ball and were more balanced, but when you consider the average win margin of the 95 team - closest win I believe was 14 points - you know we had a great D to match the O. We weren't just a high scoring team that could barely outscore the opponent like the teams do today in the Big 12 or AAC. That scoring margin was built on a high scoring O and a stingy D.
  2. This article gives good reason why the Dems could take down Ted Cruz in the next election. Besides not being a very likable person, his #s are dropping in Texas and the Dems have a good potential candidate to take him out. Cruz upset Trump supporters wt his non-endorsement at the convention and then he upset the never trump repubs by his reversal. Trying to have it both ways you end up wt nothing. http://theweek.com/articles/743119/democrats-should-after-ted-cruz
  3. Sounds worse than Nixon. Paranoia! No way this guy lasts 4 years. If Pence, etc had the courage and willingness and ethics to do something - amendment 25.4 should be initiated. Otherwise it is on Mueller & team to force his resignation.
  4. Yes that was kind of my head scratching thought also. People watch Fox - Fox says nothing negative about the bill - therefore people are positive about the tax bill - Those people who listen to Fox. If there is bad news about the bill it needs to be aired. And the reverse is true - the other networks should air the positives - give us both sides of the issue and let us determine. Now the bill may be 75% bad and that is why there is so much 'negativity' on the other networks, but I don't think the bill is 100% good where people will automatically be positive to it as they listen to Fox. So if Listening to Fox = automatic positive feelings - then my only conclusion is that Fox is leaving something(s) out.
  5. Great seeing the Adrian Martinez commitment. https://n.rivals.com/content/prospects/2018/adrian-martinez-71251
  6. Maybe this will be the spur for Republicans to reject Bannon and his ilk. Mr Law made a mistake is saying that Bannon dragged Trump into this. Trump got in on his own free will. Trump had rejected Moore but out of having more concern with his agenda than ethics he went full bore in support of Moore. Trump again showed his lack of character and political wisdom by doing so.
  7. amazing - and the guy has been elected 3x so he says. Speaks volumes about the voters of Bama. I thought the video had ended wt that dumbfounded look he had -
  8. ^^^^^ Pretty amazing political folly. I don't think the Repubs ever have a well thought out game plan. With a game plan like that above, Scott Frost would have been 0-12 instead of 12-0.
  9. Yes I agree 100%. The guy is an embarrassment. One does not have to agree with the person in the WH politically to respect the person and the position. However in this case, he has lost all respect and is not deserving of the respect due to the office. A quote from US Today via Newsmax agrees - Some very strong words. Got to be someway to remove this guy. https://www.newsmax.com/politics/usa-today-rips-trump-unfit/2017/12/13/id/831466/
  10. Hey, a slogan to replace UCF Fast - "FrostBitten" "Frost Warning" With "Husker HurryUp" under it and a Pic of Huskers lined up (viewed from the Defense side of the line) on front and on the back side "Your've been Frostbitten" wt a pic of the defense chasing the WR or RB - picture from behind showing the WR way ahead of the defender.
  11. Same people will be voting for Judge Moore this week also. Ideology before ethics.
  12. https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/nikki-haley-women-sexual-allegations/2017/12/10/id/830906/ Nikki Haley said women who have accused Trump should have their voices heard. 13. I believe Tom called it in the lock room before the game. He had that play called as the first play and knew it would go big if Colo came out in a certain defensive set. It did - TD. He also predicted what was going to happen in the 2nd half of the Miami game in 94 - they would get tired, they would have a personal foul at a critical point of the game, that our players were not to react but remain calm and that we'd wear them down and win it in the 4th.
  14. Schlesinger's 2nd TD - against Miami . This got alllllll of the monkey's off of Tom's, NU's and Husker Nation's back. Tom finally won the big one. After that 95 and 97 were icing on the cake and were for bragging rights (95 greatest team ever, 97 team - would have trounced Michigan, etc). This touchdown and this game gave final validation to a program that had come so close so many times under Tom - one play away in 93,83,82 and one game away on several other occasions. It is only fitting that the TD came on this trap play, by the Fullback - a demonstration of the deceptiveness of the option and the power of our running game. Notice the downfield blocking by the WR and of course the OL blocking - creating a large opening.
  15. Amazing stat: He only coached 3 games - unranked. And he won all 3 including the upset of # 4 Bama. And he only lost one game to a team with a losing record - ISU in 92 - many of us can remember the shock of that loss.
  16. Everyone knows that Ohio & OSU is a part of the NW Territories. So we can't count them! Oh, wait, that was in 1787. Western states are general considered those from Montana going south and west. from Wiki: The Midwestern United States, also referred to as the American Midwest, Middle West, or simply the Midwest, is one of four geographic regions defined by the United States Census Bureau. It occupies the northern central part of the United States of America.[2] It was officially named the North Central region by the Census Bureau until 1984.[3] It is located between the Northeastern U.S. and the Western U.S., with Canada to its north and the Southern U.S. to its south. The Census Bureau's definition consists of 12 states in the north central United States: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. The region generally lies on the broad Interior Plain between the states occupying the Appalachian Mountain range and the states occupying the Rocky Mountain range. Major rivers in the region include, from east to west, the Ohio River, the Upper Mississippi River, and the Missouri River.[4] A 2012 report from the United States Census put the population of the Midwest at 65,377,684. The Midwest is divided by the Census Bureau into two divisions. The East North Central Division includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin, all of which are also part of the Great Lakes region. The West North Central Division includes Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota, several of which are located at least partly, within the Great Plains region.
  17. Thanks Red - I'll ck them out. We currently have ATT but have trouble wt drop calls - in our house and we are suburbia Tulsa.
  18. My wife and I are considering getting new smart phones and on a new network. We don't want to spend an arm and leg on the latest version of the iphone or an android. So with that in mind what recommendations do you have for phones and networks. We are not the most tech savvy people so we don't need the most bells and whistles. There are the major networks ATT, Verison, Sprint, T-mobile, the next level wt Cricket, Boost, etc and you also have the Walmart's, etc networks, and Consumer Cellular for us over 55 crowd - etc and etc. So the options are numerous - what plan and phone worked for you that was economical for 2 people? Thanks for your input. Much appreciated. '
  19. Exactly how it is at Univ of Tulsa - my local school that I follow and where my 2 son's graduated from. Basketball and Football - some pretty good coaches got great 'starts' at TU Basketball - Nolan Richardson, Bill Self (via ORU first but Bill got to the elite 8 only to lose to NC by 3 pts), Tubby Smith, Danny Manning to name a few Football - John Cooper (Ohio State), Todd Graham, to name a couple It sucks to lose a good coach, but it is worse to have a coach no one else wants.
  20. We have a cure for the cold weather that the Florida crowd knows nothing of - a Runza in every hand. Great hand warmer. For the players it would do them good to get some practice in the cold to toughen them up before they hit the NFL. Actually playing in hot humid south should be turned against them. I think that is more wearing on the body than being out in the cold. Having grown up in S. Dak and living in Tulsa for 39 years - I still honestly debate what is worse - July/Aug in Tulsa or Jan/Feb in S.D. And it only gets more humid the more south and east you go from Tulsa.
  21. Nationalism vs Patriotism - she notes that patriotism is loving your country while nationalism is saying 'We're number one!" She adds “I fear that that ‘We’re number one’ nationalism is really like an old bed buddy of racism and xenophobia.” I liked that she said "we should see ourselves in others and not 'see yourself and then others'" "Out of Many - one" indeed.
