  1. It's against board rules to leak premium content but on the latest Split Zone Duo pod they did an update on their 'eyes' board which is their coaching search stuff. A quick high level chat about what Tony White specifically is below: Mods, if this is too close to the line, please delete. They talked about the San Diego State, Boise State and Syracuse openings and Tony White's name didn't come up as a potential front runner. The SZD guys were pretty high on Jeff Monken and Ken Niumatalolo getting long looks at Syracuse and the MW openings (plus some other coaches, none of whom were Tony). They also talked about Sean Lewis the OC from Colorado maybe getting a long look at Cuse but they weren't sure if going up tempo Air Raid again is the best fit for Syracuse given their geography. The SZD guys seemed to think SDSU would go offense this time around with a HC to bring some juice to the program and take advantage again, of what they have geography-wise. Another X-factor with these MW openings is Gary Patterson wants to get back in the game so it'll be interesting to see if he lands one of these gigs.
  2. https://huskers.com/news/2023/11/16/huskers-travel-to-maryland-for-2023-navy-classic Links in the article for those who are interested in following the boys! GBR!
  3. That is a hottttt take. The Sinead O'Connor version of the Prince cover is basically perfect. I love and I mean love Otis Redding but the Aretha Franklin cover of "Respect" is just better. Also Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah" is incredible
  4. If I'm recruiting a high end DL, Larry Johnson from Ohio State is one of the last people on the planet I want to be recruiting against. Buckle up Husker fans.
  5. 125--Caleb Smith very methodical, workmanlike performance 133-Van Dee looked terrific, aggressive all match, he didn't give Heil a chance to breathe at all. 141/149/157--Dominating performances against overmatched opponents 165--Taylor looked like he was shot out of a cannon in the first period and he came really close to getting a first round TF. It looked like a landed a bit awkwardly during a scramble in the 2p and was limping a bit. 3p he got a little gassy but credit to Baker who had a few really good shots during the match and made it a little more respectable at the end. 174--Thebeau looked great, wrecked his guy 184--Pinto got an early TD but then Hopkins controlled most of the rest of the match, Pinto struggled to get out from the bottom when Hopkins took him down. That being said, Pinto had a nice burst at the end with a couple attacks to get the TD and the W at the end. 197--Allred good solid performance HWT--Some early fireworks with Andrews putting Ghadiali on his back for an early 5 point move, after that Ghadiali really took over. Andrews looks like he maybe weighs 220 out there and he's going to get muscled around a lot. I'm guessing the staff has Andrews eating and working out as much as humanly possible. There is good technique there, he's just really undersized. On to the Navy Classic! GBR!
  6. Team looked pretty good. Brown Ton gassed pretty badly in his match at 174. I wonder if Wilson will move up and if Condomitti is able to come back. Andrews needs to start eating 10k calories/day stat haha. Man he's undersized at HWT.
  7. Took these from another forum, wrestle off notes from last week: 125 Caleb Smith 133 Vandee over Burwick 5-2ish score 141 Hardy no contest 149 Lovett looked very sharp 157 Probb, looked healthy, great to see! Won 20-1 165 Match of the day Antrell Taylor beats Bubba Wilson in double OT 174 Brown ton over Thebeau 184 Lenny Pinto over van tassel 197 Allred, looking even better than last year. Heavy weight no match, Rumor from the thread I read is that Pentz has gone back to ND and is no longer on the roster. Definitely a blow there. Big time YO result out of Taylor beating out Bubba Wilson. I'm assuming Taylor is wrestling up this year since he can't beat Robb at 157. Robb apparently looked very, very sharp which is just awesome to hear given the scary situation he went through.
  8. Get this man some APEX gear STAT
  9. Huff is awesome. Nebraska would have to offer him minimum 7 figures to leave and even then, why would he? He's making $850k, well entrenched at Washington and UW is absolutely rolling. I get that money talks and Nebraska has been opening up the purse strings but I'm not sure if NU is at '7 figures for a position coach' levels of spending. Would be tickled to be proven wrong!
  10. I halfway wonder that with the news of Pyfrom decommitting means that Brix is leaning another direction.
  11. It took Jonathan Smith 4 years at Oregon State before he got them over .500 and even then, year 4 for them was 7-6 Leipold is in year 3 at Kansas and his first 2 years they went 2-10 and 6-7 (with a bowl game) Stoops' first 5 years at Kentucky were 2-10, 5-7, 5-7, 7-6, 7-6. He broke through to 10-3 in year 6. Mike Elko is definitely the outlier here going 9-4 his first year at Duke and he has them off to a 4-1 start. I'd argue the biggest driver in his early success is due to Riley Leonard balling out at QB. Leonard suffered a high ankle sprain against ND and is out for a while so I guess we'll see what their season looks like. My point is, I totally get your frustration but outside of Elko, it took all these teams a few years to get cranked up. The quickest way to do that is nail the QB spot and we all agree that the QB play has been pretty hit or miss this year. Keep the faith!
  12. Plus a rash of injuries in CU's receiver core.
  13. Mariners/Astros in a massive series tonight. I'm a pretty healthy mix of nervous/excited. The prospect of the Ms going back to the playoffs at the expense of the Astros of all teams would be euphoria.
  14. I'd like to officially petition Merriam-Webster for them to officially put 'Clemsoning' back in the dictionary please.
  15. If you're looking for another solid Aussie show, check out "Mr. Inbetween" which wrapped up a 3 season run on FX not too long ago. It's about a guy who's a single dad and navigating all those challenges with a daughter as she's growing up. Plus, he's a hitman. It's a really, really good black comedy. Awesome show and couldn't recommend it more to anyone. Thanks for the rec on Fisk, I'll definitely check it out.
  16. I think it's 2 years. Sanders will stick around until Travis Hunter leaves for the NFL since he wouldn't be able to transfer schools again.
  17. That 1996 ASU team was really freaking good in retrospect. IIRC they finished 11-1 and barely lost to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl.
  18. I'm sure this was brought up earlier in the thread but I don't have the heart to look through it so my apologies if this has all been repeated ad nausem. TCU's playcalling was horrific down the stretch and Briles fell right into a pi$$ing match of trying to show Sanders how smart he was as a play caller versus chewing up clock. TCU's defense last year was ranked in the 90s (not those 90s lol) and they lost a ton of guys off that team. On the Colorado side, this is what you get with a Sean Lewis offense. They are going to go ultra high tempo and sling it all over the place. I was admittedly skeptical of Sanders and still am but he looked like a cool customer out there last week. This game will be a fun chess match to me because Colorado's strength will be going against the best part of Nebraska's D and I hope to heck Nebraska will not be trying to air it out a ton versus CU's secondary. It's too bad that chop blocking is going away because in the before times, Nebraska would be sending WRs at Hunter and getting physical with him and chopping. Reimer and the LB crew better eat their Wheaties because they are going to need to corral Edwards coming out the backfield. That kid has some serious juice. It'll be interesting to see what happens if Nebraska can get up and really churn clock versus CU. We all saw it a ton during the Frost era where a team would drive down the field on the defense, the offense would take over and go 3 and out because they were pressing. We would all grumble about helping out the defense and I'd like to see Nebraska put that shoe on the other foot. Nebraska should have a (and I can't believe I get to type this) a nice edge at ST. I'm happy this game is also an early kickoff versus say, a night game when that place would really be rocking. All in all, I'm jacked for this week. I can't stand Colorado. Never have. Never will. I try not to get very invested in the games but there is something about Colorado that really gets the juices flowing. I want Nebraska to bludgeon this team with the run. Can they? Tune in Saturday!
  19. But now Robinson gets to come in fresh in the 2nd half like when the wrestler comes storming out from backstage and clears out the ring!
  20. Clemsoning is back baby! I can't fit into the tshirt anymore but I'll still dig it out!
  21. Ooh that is a really good call. The Troy team that beat Bunch was probably pretty on par to that Baylor squad. Tough call!
