  1. I can't listen to Clouse anymore on his The Bottom Line hits with Severe as he just sounds utterly clueless when talking about recruits. I mean, he's officially quite knowledgeable but his tone of voice is just so grating for me. /thread derail Awesome news for Maurice!!
  2. Good call. Canty is not listed. However, Watt is listed as well and he was another individual that was wrapping up some academics.
  3. Fwiw Washington is listed on the official roster listed on huskers.com. Not sure how long he's been listed there.
  4. I'm not too surprised with the book release. The OWH has a new management group in charge, Lee Enterprises and the long time CEO stepped down last month. Newspapers need to find ways to monetize and Husker football is a pretty good vehicle to monetize.
  5. Yes, I was wondering about that too. I could come up with 8 rings for conference titles and bowl wins while Frost was there. I could conceivably see the other 2 rings being for Mariotta winning the Heisman and maybe a bonus ring for their 2010 season where they went 12-0?
  6. Agreed the J's can probably get flipped pretty easily (full disclaimer I know almost nothing about the sneaker resale market). As for the rings, I would assume their personalized in some way which would make selling them quite difficult. I have no idea what you could get for them if you stripped/melted them down as I don't know what the jewel mix is.
  7. To Fleck's credit I really dug his suit he wore to media days. It was gray with a maroon check w/ gold around the maroon, pretty snazzy. I would like it stated for the record that I still think Fleck is a jackwagon.
  8. Akron is absolutely awful. That bowl game last year against FAU was gambling manna from heaven. That being said 23 is quite a bit, if you like Nebraska, you should bet them now since the public will most likely drive the line into the 24/24.5 range.
  9. WHAT'S IT GONNA BE MAYO-NAISEEEE?? YOU N OR WHAT?!?
  10. All comes down to the juice for me. It looks like NU O 6.5 is -140 on Sportsbook. I'm sure the juice is even higher via online portals that folks use to bet with locals.
  11. Actually its sales that make it possible for businesses to make money.
  12. I think we'll be able to get a much sharper view on whether Fitz is a very good coach once NW's new facilities are ready to go. Outside of the obvious academic challenges NW's terrible facilities were one of the main hindrances for NW. Now that being said, I don't see Fitz going anywhere unless he really craters as he just signed a 10 year extension. Three 10 win seasons in the past 6 years is going to buy him lots and lots of goodwill. Personally, I think Fitz is a pretty middle of the road coach. His teams will always be pretty disciplined and play hard but once Nebraska gets up and going (at least to where we hope NU is going) Nebraska should be able to handle NW pretty handily.
  13. Ugh, I had this situation too. It took a while but after I repeatedly told these people that I planned to contribute, "Nothing." They finally took the hint. It took a serious death stare and some hostile body language to get the point across though.
  14. +1 here and good suggestions with the other responses to the other posters. The only tweak I would make to @Enhance's direct statement would be to include something to the effect of 'When I tell you I'm not interested in joining you for breakfast and you insist anyway it makes me feel like "fill in the blank". I used to work in what sounds like a similar office to you and I had especially thickheaded co-workers who just couldn't take a hint. I tried using dead faced cold language "No." Didn't work. I tried using jokes, "Ahh geez, I just can't I'm getting older and the 'ol metabolism isn't what it once was." I finally had to tap into my old Emotional Intelligence books and it finally worked. This sounds particularly exhausting and I'm sorry you're going through a frankly stupid situation at work. The sarcastic part of me wants you to tell your co-workers that you don't need to eat at work because you know how to budget your time effectively and are able to eat before coming into work.
  15. Gringo--7/10 Shockingly good cast for a lower budget movie (Joel Edgerton's brother being the director probably helped with some pull). The plot's a little convoluted at times and I wish the characters were a little more fleshed out but overall it's a pretty good crime/comedy caper. Red Sparrow--7/10 Jennifer Lawrence and Matthias Schoenaerts are fantastic, Joel Edgerton (weird that I watched B2B movies with him..totally unintentional) was pretty mediocre and he and Jennifer Lawrence didn't have much chemistry. Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games) did a solid job directing. At 2:20 the run time is a tick long for me since again, I wish the secondary characters were fleshed out more. The violence also at times, is almost jarringly over the top. I would imagine the book the movie is based off of is a really good read and I'll probably check it out.
  16. Agree w/ @Caliborn72 that Oregon has the easiest schedule by far of the teams OP listed. I think FSU bounces back into 9+ win territory provided they don't lost their starting QB in the first game of the year again. Their tough games are relatively spread out.
  17. Lol I instantly went over to check out the UCF board after I read the news. I got my fill after 2 or 3 pages and some pretty good laughs at the 'insults' about Nebraska. I was reading it and saying out loud, "How to people get riled up about this? It's so dumb!"
  18. I initially hated the idea of beer steins mostly because I still have some of my fraternity days and I've used them almost zero times...on a side note that no one cares about I have way too many glasses. If I'm not drinking a c$%ktail my de facto glass is a 44oz Buckys cup. After seeing those steins, those are pretty sweet especially the customized photo part. My most recent groomsmen gifts were an engraved Yeti cup (always a solid choice, can never have enough Yetis) and a really slick wood watch from Treehut that I get quite a few compliments on when I wear it.
  19. That is the face of a guy who runs an Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Sandusky, OH. Or a car wash. Take your pick.
  20. Yes, I read that as well. I just don't trust Orgeron to not screw it up. He meddled like crazy when Canada was there and I think he's going to meddle again under Ensminger. The only difference is I view Ensminger as the epitome of a 'yes man' who will let Orgeron run amok as this is a huge promotion for him. Man...I'm really down on Orgeron as a HC lol.
  21. I'm not too bummed if he decides to take an OV to LSU, as I think he'd be wasting it. I didn't have a lot of faith in Orgeron as a HC and then he went and did the most Coach O thing possible and fired Matt Canada to promote Ensminger to OC. I'm sure Hickman will be thrilled to hear how he fits into the Veer, Maryland I or whatever ancient offensive system LSU is going to roll out.
  22. Glad to see McShane was able to line up a new gig. I have no doubt he'll do great things for Northwestern.
