  1. I'm just looking for juan fair shot to get this guy.
  2. Wish Decker all the best. I'm sure it was not an easy decision to make.
  3. I oddly watched a ton of CU the past couple years (I must've been betting them more frequently than usual) and they're going to be hard pressed to replace Lindsay who was an absolute stud and one of my favorite RBs to watch last year. Dude gave maximum effort every single play. If McMillian can recapture his Fr year magic he had VT than they might have something going. Montez was super inconsistent and took a lot of unnecessary hits last year...I believe he missed a couple games due to injury last year. He has a really big arm but was really inconsistent with the short and medium throws so their offense seemed to sputter quite a bit. As a couple other posters have mentioned, the defense really slid downhill after Leavitt left.
  4. I'd be very pleasantly surprised if Nebraska held Troy to 17 points. I wish Nebraska was catching them as the home opener as they're trying to replace a 4 yr starting QB and Brown is a helluva coach.
  5. +1 to this. For me it's either the '09 Holiday Bowl or the 2010 Okie Lite game. As a couple posters have mentioned, that '10 Okie State team was completely loaded on offense. People have mentioned Weeden and Blackmon but that team also had Kendall Hunter at RB and Josh Cooper was no slouch as a #2 WR. If Okie State would've won a wild Bedlam game...I think it 49-42 or something close to that, Okie State would've played Nebraska again in the Big XII title game. That would've been an interesting rematch and Okie State would've been in the Top 10 for sure and possibly Top 5 when Nebraska would've played them.
  6. Watched "The Real Casino Royale" last night on Amazon Video. It was a 45 minute-ish documentary about the explosion of gambling in Britain in the last 1950s and early 1960s. If you're into gambling its a pretty good watch. The aristocratic Brits were degenerates!
  7. @NM11046 I've attached a link to a really good article Chris Heady from the OWH wrote about Washington and his past. It may be behind a paywall so an alternate way to get some more info would be to check out Severe's "The Bottom Line" podcast where he discusses it quite a bit. http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/recruiting/maurice-washington-spent-years-struggling-to-honor-his-late-father/article_794069fc-8cb0-545f-912c-aab7d7c3cb04.html In a nutshell, Washington lost his father at age 9 to cancer and he's really struggled with life when he wasn't playing football. He's bounced around to several different HSs trying to get himself sorted out. On one hand I think that if Nebraska can just get him on campus he'll be ok because let's be honest...Nebraska is football crazy and the structure that a big time D1 program provides both academically and athletically might be exactly what he needs. On the other hand I could see a school like Fresno St or maybe San Diego St swooping in at the last minute and being able to play the proximity card/play early card. If San Diego St were closer to Sunnyvale (it's about 500 miles away) I'd have some cause for concern because SDSU has put some stud RBs in the NFL since Rocky Long took over (Ronnie Hillman, Donnell Pumphrey and Rashad Penney). I have absolutely zero basis for my comments on SDSU, it's based on purely speculation and this kid's expressed desire to play early and get to the NFL.
  8. And now Cano is suspended for 80 games. Great. Just. Great.
  9. In the thread @Savage Husker and I complain about the Mariners and their lack of recent playoff appearances. Also, thanks to the dipsh^^ pitcher who plunked Robby Cano on the hand and broke it. I didn't even realize Gordon Beckham was still in the majors.
  10. Is Husker Hounds still open? I thought I heard a radio advert saying they were going out of business. That could easily be another Husker store though. Cosign the Blackstone area. Lots of really cool places.
  11. I live 5 minutes from Jonesys. Can confirm their deliciousness. Although it's not even the best restaurant in that area...that would go to Tracks for their delicious fried chicken.
  12. Name comes too close to being able to spell Pelini.... Double entendre gif ftw!
  13. Interesting. I remember seeing him a couple times in both football and basketball when he played at Beatrice. He was a pretty good athlete from what I can remember. Hey, cool for Nebraska!
  14. For those that might have missed it when it first came out, House Of Lies is now streaming on Amazon Prime after originally airing on Showtime. It's got Don Cheadle, Kristen Bell and Jean Ralphio from Parks & Rec playing management consultants in the vain of Booz Hamilton and McKinsley. It's irreverent, sarcastic, kinda dark and extremely vulgar at times. I personally really enjoyed it.
  15. For self-improvement--Tools of Titans by Tim Ferris For funsies/interesting--Flash Boys by Michael Lewis
  16. LSU is one of the great 'what ifs' in CFB to me. They consistently churn out elite level talent and have one of the most fertile recruiting grounds to choose from that they have a near monopoly on due to the lack of other big time colleges in the state. How they were able to never, ever, ever land a QB is absolutely befuddling to me. If Saban had stayed at LSU (not likely due to the absolute clown shoe administration that another poster mentioned) he could've put together a run equal if not better than what he's done at 'Bama.
  17. +1 Dilfer comes across like he's trying way, way, wayyyyy too hard and his Elite 11 camp is the most important thing in the world.
  18. Haha oh my...his twitter feed is....interesting. He lifted his tweet about not hiring a sales rep/coach with an ugly wife from something James Franklin said when he was back at Vandy. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/vandy-coach-james-franklin-looking-few-hot-wives-160107520.html
  19. Excellent news about Dixon. It'll be really interesting to see how the coaches deploy him on a game to game basis and how quickly he can get bulked up. I'll be excited to see him matchup against the dudes tOSU rolls out (assuming he progresses as we all think he will).
  20. Without Mike Riley there is potentially no Scott Frost and still possibly SE. That's worth a trip to Valuetown, USA if I've ever heard on one.
  21. The OWH is looking at this story like manna from heaven. They can blow at least 2 weeks working on this thing. Welcome to the offseason!!! Live look at the OWH Staff:
  22. Mike Riley is an interesting case. They say nice guys finish last...you know what they also do though? Get paid for a really, really long time. You see Mike Riley's all over the business landscape. I disagree about him offering no value, his nice demeanor earned him nearly $10mm from Nebraska. That's a whole helluva lot of value...for himself and his family.
  23. 1 Center + 2 guard positions=3
