  1. Now lets land him, so he can peer recruit and then this thread will explode with excitement.
  2. I mean......not really. We should have a pretty good idea of everyone else's program by now....Year 5. Maryland is in year 2 and appears to be doing more than just fine. Nothing like apples & oranges! He said "newcomer". They fit that description a lot more than we do....Year 5 in the Miles era and about to be another losing season. Meanwhile, Iowa is about to be ranked in the Top 10 and is in 1st place in the B1G. A team that consistently has worse recruiting classes than us. What does that spell? C-O-A-C-H-I-N-G! Actually he is in year four but I still get your point Iowa hasn't been world beaters the last few years but they have been solid for sure. Iowa had some growing pains to as all their guys were freshman when Miles was hired here in year one, it could be similar to our freshman having to go through growing pains. We still are desperate for a big man, looks like we will have to get a grad transfer or hopefully Hammond turns out to be a top 150 player in his last two years. Illinois will be a big game and we have some confidence, also they are short handed with injuries I believe so we should go in and definitely get a W.
  3. Cincy the college football team I'm guessing? If it is welcome to the college football world Zac, now who will be Nebraska's next head man Scott or Zac. Or Scott as HC and Zac as OC would be lit to but that is getting real far ahead of ourselves now lol.
  4. Outlawing the forward pass would take care of most of this. hahaha that's hilarious, someone in Alabama I think it was actually tried to petition to make the Alabama football team outlaw the forward pass for all games. Back to the Gerry hit if that is targeting any hit near the helmet I guess is targeting. They made a lot of targeting calls in bowl games this year I remember one game a targeting call was made in the first minute of the game. On the field going full speed if it looks like targeting and the ref throws the flag, that is fine, but the booth needs to be consistent and make the correct call. I remember seeing a video where one of the officials on the field shook his head when he heard Gerry got ejected. And now Gerry has a target on his back since he has been called for targeting two times(not sure if he was flagged any other times this year for targeting or not) so he should still play aggressive but refs will really be looking to make sure he doesn't lead with his helmet, despite he was ejected twice for doing nothing outside the rules.
  5. Steeler's come away with a win and thanks to the selfish Cinncy players who had to put themselves above the team and it cost them the game

      lol "Steeler's" "Cinncy"

If i were the Bengals I'd suspend Burfict and Jones for 4-6 games. Without pay. I think theyd have a good case on appeals too. Especially with Jones being not during a football play. You lose a game for your team you deserve it. And keep cryin Pacman. If i was your teammate i wouldnt console you until you prove to me you will and do change. You can have an edge to you without getting stupid and selfish penalties.

  6. I thought that they played good basketball today. Rutgers was not a good team but we came out and outplayed them like we should of and I believe we never tailed in the game. We got a lot to improve on and we need to take these next few games against minny and Illinois. If this team rebounds better against the better teams and all teams in this league we might not be as bad as some think but that is a big If. I would say we might make the NIT but that is a best case scenario this year.
  7. Yea I agree with this. Saban wants to be able to control his team and he couldn't do that in the NFL. He recruits like crazy in college and he is a good enough coach to get a great defense and be able to run the football. He is staying put unless he has a really bad season which seems almost impossible barring any sanctions, which won't happen cause he runs a clean program.
  8. Absolutely, GBR!!! Lets get a win over the Bruins
  9. Let's go Huskers and beat UCLA! I recall seeing a thread like this being made during the season, and I couldn't find it in the football forum. So I went ahead and made this one. We need to support are team through thick and thin, the good seasons and the bad. I want to spread some positivity for the board and I want Nebraska to beat the Bruins. Spread the Husker love and show your support for the team, even if the odds aren't in Nebraska's favor, Mike Riley has shown his teams show up in bowl games. GBR!! Beat UCLA and let's get a win for the seniors and team!
  10. We gave him a 7-year deal and he really got it going in year two with a really good team missing some size. If he does bad in year five and six, then it is time to talk about his job, but with the recruits he is bringing in do you want him gone? He needs a little more time and if you are so easy to criticise how many top 100 recruits did Sadler get? How many bad seasons did he have and yet he still retained his job, even though 10 of his wins every year were against awful competition. I like where we are headed but you can talk about firing him if we are really bad after year six, and that is just talk about it because he is doing good we just need another guy it seems. Three solid scoring options is something you need to be successful so, will we find a consistent third scorer behind shields and white and if we do we could be a contender. Time will tell but yeah it's not time to call his head he is literally one big man away from a really talented team.
  11. It would mean the Huskers don't get an 8 loss season for the first time since 1957. A win might also help sway some recruits and it would motivate the team going into the offseason. The body language of the team somethimes has been bad so a win would help them feel great and excited for year two to win more games and have fun with the experience. It is a familiar foe with Riley and so a win would be big for momentum and we beat one of the better teams in the PAC 12, something Riley is good at doing.
  12. so far 5-7 teams are undefeated in bowls and only one has played. Minnesota and Nebraska continue the streak and it shows some 5-7 teams did deserve a bowl game. Or if Minny wins and Ucla defeats Nebraska we will break the 5-7 win "streak."
  13. Well, he is tall has some weight and can push people around. Ayegba I believe was around a 6'9 center when we got him. Nebraska needs scrappers that can rebound and take over the post and if he can do that sign him up. Dejuan Blair is like 6'7 and gets boards in the NBA because he has a mentality to rebound, so height isn't everything. We need size immediately and Elijah fits what we need now imo.
  14. Bucks warriors it will be a close on, the Bucks might be able to pull off the upset-again

  15. Tommy works his but off and earns the starting job he plays no questions asked. He listens to the coaches, works on getting better makes good decisions and works on not throwing off his backfoot and he will not lose the job. POB can steal it but very unlikely. POB starts mid-year, wait and see approach because he has not seen a college level defense yet. POB does have advantages though like mechanics but you missed one thing that a lot of people overlook height. POB-6'4 225, Tommy 6'0-220
  16. Nice post thanks for the update. Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray both have the same final four, that is interesting. I say if Ou gets one we have an excellent chance to get the other as we beat out Colo state for both of them easily. I want Kyle Allen more, but I will definitely take Kyler Murray especially if he wants to play both football and baseball. Maybe Murray does come here because he will play for Erstad and go to the MLB if football doesn't work out or vise versa.
  17. Maybe Tommy Armstrong is one of the players failing a class.
  18. Most of the big time recruits we are going after now are not announcing until Jan/Feb, so I bet we close on some really good guys, Also on signing day usually get one or two surprise commits and maybe one or two guys that sign elsewhere, it's all part of recruiting.
  19. Wow, Pitt stole one of Ohio states players. We don't need another running back because I think that is the only position he wanted to play. I can't remember what position we were recruiting him at, but hats of to Pitt George will do great things. Any relation to George Hill of the NBA?
  20. Ummmm...No. 247 has us at 31 and OSU at 38. OSU has 24 recruits with an average grade of 83.23. Nebraska has 15 recruits with an average grade of 86.87. So, with fewer recruits (which means a lot in the rankings) we are still ahead because on average our recruits are viewed to be better recruits than ours. With 24 recruits, I would assume they are almost done. with 15 we aren't close to being done. Yep we are going to start getting some, we just have to wait till 2016 because that's when lots of good players like to announce for attention. Yes, some high rated players are already committed that are great but some wait till later to enjoy the process and make time for a big ceremony. It all depends on their life not just football recruiting.
  21. If we don't start recruiting better DL recruits the twins need to step up and I think they can. Alex Davis looks promising and so does Dashion and Freedom as well. Freedom can't disappear after a few games again in the coming seasons. Lets hope that these two guys will be hard to gameplan for because of their chemistry together.
  22. Supposedly being recruited at all 3 DB positions... Meaning they have no idea where to put him until they get on the field It's called willing to put him where ever he fits. It's nice having both s player and staff that is open yo that. Alright thanks for the info huskerhill and Bigredbuster I would think with all the safeties we recruit some will end up as WR like the FR Simmons, and the Juco Simmons(Markell?) may end up as a safety/ corner as well.
  23. The bowl game? Some players leaving? Faux Pelini coaching the team and telling the players what to do on twitter? The new chancellor? All these and probably more things we can brace ourselves for.
  24. Are we looking at moving him or developing him into a corner? We already have two safeties in the class and we have both Williams at safety along with Gerry and a few others from previous classes.(Antonio Read?) He wouldn't be a bad corner with that height but if we were recruiting him as safety are we going to move other safeties like Simmons the freshman to WR if we get him? If we land Tony is he a great corner or does he stay at S and would corner be a good spot for him.
