  1. And oh by the way. The blackshirts are for the starting 11 for the next game. So next week, it could be a different 11. Again, the way it should be. You can only have 11 players out there starting, so it doesn't matter "how football works" because the Blackshirts go to the starting 11 on defense. I don't care if the nickel back should get one. Against Minnesota the nickel back is not starting so he doesn't get one. The 2nd string DL will play quite a few snaps, probably more than a nickel back. Should they get one two? At that point maybe we should just give one to the entire defense.
  2. Yes, and as it should be The starting 11. not every defensive player that plays.
  3. Trev hinted in his interview last night that the student experience at games is going to change, but he couldn't say what. We'll know more in October at the Board of Regents meeting when all of the stadium stuff is released.
  4. yep, this one was outstanding. I'm sure a lot of this was happening under previous coaches, but I love the Redshirt/scout team discussion and bringing in all of the NFL vets and Trev explaining how they all redshirted. (except Knighton) And him kicking the Blackshirts off the field for "low effort" was great to see that entire sequence between the coaches and players and how they responded, only to get kicked off again, and return. The kids got it, and was great to see how to "coach and practice" adversity.
  5. I agree, but unfortunately we are not the target audience. And by all appearances, the target audience loves it.
  6. Not to mention this staff on several occasions in Press conferences has stated they would rather talk about the players that are out practicing and not the players that are out for whatever reason. I've heard Rhule say it and Mcguire say it for sure, and I believe White mentioned it as well. This is a staff edict in my opinion. They acknowledge the players that are "out" and talk about the ones that are putting in the work.
  7. I know it is probably just me making an excuse, but they haven't had a true media room for several years now, and I suspect once the new one is completed in the new building this problem will go away. Tough giving PCs in the tunnel under the stadium.
  8. Thank you, that is very helpful. What about media folks, and people "in the know"?
  9. Per the title. Put your must follows below. Please and Thank you! Or better yet, is there a Huskerboard who to follow list on twitter / x?
  10. I saw something today, that all of the outdoor practice fields are going to grass now instead of turf. Is there a chance that Memorial will go grass in the future, or is that just wishful thinking and reading way to much into the practice field update?
  11. There have been times in the past several years, and in the spring game. Where there are wide open running lanes, and our backs just run right into the defender instead of cutting outside or inside. I know not every time it will work, but man some of those are just WTF? why did he cut right when one yard left was nothing but green grass. Is that ability or practice?
  12. After all of the back and forth on this. Given what we have seen. This is a bit disheartening to see. Yeah, we don't know the full story, but the video I have seen on this shows that AA does this twice. Once from the Right side drill and once from the Left side drill. It's a piss poor attitude, regardless of what happened before or after the drill. You either put in the work, or you don't. The other side of this is, sure it is a 15 second clip, but I don't see any of the other backs pulling this crap during that same clip. Why is AA the only one half assing it?
  13. This is fun and brings a smile to my face to see these guys having a blast. I can only imagine how much of a grind it is for winter conditioning and then to go out and do this.
  14. BTW - if you haven't listened to his interview yesterday. Buckle up and tune in. It is quite the ride. He is a very engaging personality.
  15. I've kind of always wondered. If Nebraska beats FSU in 94 OB, do they win the MNC in 94, and are they as dominate in 95? That loss really fueled the fire, and who knows what may have happened?
  16. His wife and wife’s family are from Nebraska and he is a good coach. I could see him coming back. Dailey that is.
  17. I thought I saw that Harrison had a streak of 90 some catches without a drop. Or something ridiculous like that. That'll do.
  18. well, IF this is true. That is one way to get out of the decision pickle for Rhule and Trev.
  19. In the next year or two there is going to be a lot of this turnover happening. How many 5th and 6th year players did we go against this year. (in QBs alone) Granted we have our fair share also, but the level of maturity within the College football ranks is going to return to normal soon.
  20. I'll say it again. Has the job even been posted on the University's website? Until that happens, no one is getting hired.
  21. Has anyone noticed if the job posting has ever actually been posted? Doesn't it need to be posted a minimum of 7 days or something before they can announce they hired anyone? Or am I thinking of other jobs at the university and football head coach is exempt from that law.
  22. Isn't your sister-in-law's husband? Your brother? Seems like that would be easier to say. My brother saw him at the facility on Monday.
  23. Synek was the only QB in the Red/White game that ok'd going live with contact and showed pretty well during the game. (granted it was the Spring game....)
