  1. If Riley goes into your family room to recruit you kid, how do you not feel comfortable and confident in your son going to not only play football for at least 3 years for Riley, but to know Riley will be there for your child off the field and grow as a person.
  2. This game hinges on two things. Offensive Line production. Tommy Armstrong.
  3. If Nebraska wins on saturday on the road vs a top 10 Wisconsin team, then I think it sets up for them to afford 1 loss and still get into the College Football Playoffs. They should be given the same lax leash as Ohio State. I mean the Buckeyes lost to Penn State and dropped only a couple spots, and the media is telling everyone that it is OK the Buckeyes still are fine for a spot in the playoffs. Well same should be said for Nebraska if they can beat Wisconsin. A win on the road vs top 10 Wisconsin should keep Nebraska OK if they are to go into Ohio State and lose a game. As long as Nebraska can run the table from that point forward the Huskers deserve a spot in the playoffs. So this game is monumental.
  4. Completely agree. The really forced "rivalry" was the Penn State one when Nebraska first entered the B1G. They for some reason made PSU our annual rival from the Leaders division when it should have been Wisconsin all along. I guess they figured since PSU was the newest member in the conference before Nebraska it fit? But rivalries are meant to be built like Nebraska/Wisconsin are becoming. It's a natural progression.
  5. Wisconsin looked beatable vs Iowa. Ohio State losing also made them look mortal. However, if Nebraska is able to get these two road wins, they'd still have to get through Michigan in the B1G title game to get to the CFP and I dont see anyone but Alabama beating Michigan at this point.
  6. Wisconsin looked beatable this week vs Iowa. However, Nebraska has looked beatable in 4 of their 7 games. I do not know if Nebraska wins or not, it depends on who we get back from injures, but I do think this is going to be a good game regardless.
  7. Interesting list and I wonder how he ranked these? Notre Dame's does not look so deserving of its rank.
  8. I am interested, because if we slip up (tons of injuries at key positions still) we are in for a terrible terrible weekend. Nebraska has to get by Purdue, stay healthy, heal up and prepare for their biggest two games of the year so far with Wisconsin and Ohio State. But those games become nightmares if the Cornhuskers trip up vs Purdue.
  9. This would be awesome and I hope it were to come true. On the topic of Purdue, I am shocked there are so many big names being thrown out there for the position. I don't see Purdue as a premier job and in fact see it as a bottom dweller job with a ton of obstacles and no tradition.
  10. If we go 2-1 over the next 3 games I will be extremely happy. As that would also mean we have the inside track to the West divison title.
  11. at least At the very least, they play with a little fire in the belly. Pure intensity and mauling attitude can make for a lot in the technical stuff. Sure you need to be sound in that too to be a great oline. But imagine our struggles if this particular group didnt play with the chip they appear to play with, and took on the perceived softness that some of the recent past groups had. Agreed. What they showed in that Illinois game was awesome, and they did their job enough with Indiana.
  12. The key is to get a QB who is a thrower, but who can run. Not a runner who can throw.
  13. O-Line has been terrible for the last 10 years. Always thought our O-Line has been extremely soft. With that said, I think our offensive line has done a great job this year and seems to be improving with each week under these coaches. They seem to come alive in the 4th quarter which is huge.
  14. Is this Nebraska team College Football Playoff quality? No. But I am enjoying this run so far and enjoying the top 10 ranking whether people think we deserve it or not. Nebraska has played 6 games and won 6 of them. You can't ask for anything better. It is not Nebraska's fault the 6 teams have not been that great so far this season. If we go 9-3, compared to last year I would be elated. I guess it comes to how do we get those 3 losses. If we get blown out Pelini style to Wisconsin and Ohio State, and lose a game we should win to Iowa? Minnesota? I will be dissapointed, but again still much happier then last year. If we go 9-3 with close losses to Wisconsin and Ohio State I will be OK with it because at least we showed we can compete with the top teams in the conference. Which would be an improvement over the last 8 years under the old coaching staff, and heck even the coaching staff before them. Riley and Co have only 1 loss since last years debacle to Purdue. They have this program in the right direction and it is exciting to know we are nowhere near where we are going to be and we are #8.
  15. Yeah pulling for Iowa to beat Wisconsin, although if we can go into Camp Randall and knock off a top 10 Wisconsin team that would be great.
  16. Purdue didn't just beat us last year, we were cooked by halftime.
  17. Right now, yes we are the Iowa of 2015, but by the end of October that wont be the case with Wisconsin and Ohio State, both road games.
  18. If we can somehow manage an offensive Touchdown, just one in the 4th quarter, I think we can win.
  19. Lots of penalties killing us. Offense really needs to wake up. Defense got burned, but been playing a heck of a game all game long. 4th quarter has been Nebraska's quarter all year, lets hope that continues!
  20. Defense really came to play today. Now we need a TD
  21. I can't be too dissapointed in this game. Indiana is a good football team, they are favored by Vegas, they are home. Nebraska depleted by injuries at key positions on offense. Armstrong is not 100% and nowhere near it, yet he is soldiering on like a warrior. Defense is playing lights out right now and hopefully make the right adjustments at halftime to continue to make it tough for Indiana to score. IF Nebraska holds on and wins, absolute kudos to the coaching staff for scraping this one out, and also kudos to all the players who dug deep and fought through injuries.
  22. 1st half: Great defense so far. Offense has been flat all game, but that is expected given all the injuries. I am happy we are up two possessions going into half. Nebraska has been a second half team all year, so hopefully that continues! We got some buffer zone with that two possession lead.
  23. If we win vs Indiana we will move up 1 or 2 spots going into Purdue game because Wisconsin/tOSU play and so does Tennessee/Alabama.
