Im saying iowa st is doing better with less then what we are doing on paper. Heres the thing, yes better players do help but it isnt everything. That was my first point is that maybe i failed to fine point apparently and it has fallen upon def ears. So not much point in continuing the conversation after i explained my point. Everyone likes to tout the better players thing but fail point out it takes more than a couple people to make this work. And sadly at this point of you think iowa st couldnt take us to the shed with the way were playing your wrong.

Im pretty sure you wont be able to get the whole alabama squad to dress in husker gear. But seemingly by your remarks you are also saying that if we had just 1 of alabams 5 star guys we would automatically turn this thing around. Thats what im saying, seems most think were just 1 or 2 5 star guys away from winning it all when im saying that those people dont mean squat if the rest of the 2 3 and 4 star guys arent willing to take it up a notch. Of course better players help but it takes everyone not just a few

To say that better players will make this team better is silly. Living in iowa i can see what Iowa St is doing with what would appear on paper to be alot worse recruits. Im not saying frost cant coach, im saying that the players currently on the team either arent buying into the system are worried about stability or some other factors. You can get the best players in this place but if there not going to buy in, or try then we cant beat the most basic of teams. Its not a talent thing, theres no way its that. Its not about what you do but how you do it.

For some reason my youtube feed is showing me alot of Nebraska games from 10 years ago. Its hard to believe just where we were as a team just that long ago. I think its kinda a mixed bag and you could look at it like Callahan left bo with alot of good recruits and that is why he could just pick up and rattle off 8 9 and 10 win seasons. But it wasnt the same after carl left. Then it was the same old same old for the next 5 years after that. Then Bo looses his s#!t, tired of the pressure of lincoln so then he checks out. Enter Mike Riley, i will say this. I do think Bill Callahan did alot more to destroy this program than Mike Riley ever did. Then enter Bill Moos, the savior of the program. He sees the problems right away, sends Riley packing and hires Frost. Frost was always a gamble even with what he did at UCF but he understands the program he understands the atmosphere. He not only played here but lived here, was on this campus as a young one so again he gets it. Hes the man for the job. I do agree with everything you just said, it seems like this entire year they have just been playing off. I dont feel they have recovered from the Colorado loss. Im sure we could all pencil in Ohio St as a loss but everyone else has shown there weakness we have just failed to expose it. All the while tipping our entire hand within the first 2 drives of the game and then either we hang on for dear life or its over by the end of the 3rd. I dont like losing but it happens, i just want to be competitive again like we were under Bo. I just want to win the games we should and be in that hunt every year. But this is the Big and no one just lays down in the Big as Ilini just proved.

I dont know why i need a reminder but. Its whoever has the better record is the winner of the west. The tie breaker goes to whoever has the win over the other team.

The day we beat the s#!t out of all our cup cake teams ill know were heading in the right direction.

Time to start jucin

For me being back means being in the hunt for Titles. I picked 2024 on that basis alone. Being back to me means being on the for front of conversation on the news outlets. It means being talked about even though gameday isnt in your backyard. It means we need to have played for the Big 10 title 2 or 3 times in consecutive years. It means we need to have at least one playoff spot during that time also and competing for the 2nd one during that time. It means no more blowouts to cupcakes, we play to the level we recruit for, we play sound football with few mistakes, consistant tackling. It means we win and lose but when we lose there not 3 touchdown blowouts we lose by 7 or a field goal but no blowouts. It means we are able to just reload and keep moving on, maybe not 5 star material but we can field a competent team every game. We are in the top 25 every year and never leave. To me it takes alot to be back or have that it factor and we are no where close right now.

I would honestly say hes probably done that already. No one is going to be as calm with Scott Frost as Tom will be. But to be fair since scott is not only his friend and tom is scotts mentor hes probably saying, just tune out the nose and keep up with your plan. These husker fans are a pesky bunch.
