  1. Can't believe I'm saying this, considering I was one of his biggest critics the first half of the season; but Lee grew on me and I hope he gets a legit shot. Guy was extremely tough this year and always seemed to try and stay positive despite playing behind one of the worst (probably thee worst) NU o-line groups i've ever seen. Obviously, I want to see the guy that gives us the best chance to win on the field, regardless of who that is; I'm just saying it wouldn't bother me if that guy is Tanner Lee. Wish him the best if he decides this Offense isn't right for him and decides to shoot for the NFL or transfers, though. On another note; I think POB saw the writing on the wall and started working on his running capabilities during the season, because the POB we saw in the season looked in better shape and looked like a waaay better runner than the POB of the spring game. I wouldn't rule him out, at all.
  2. Is it not possible that 1 conference has 2, maybe even 3, of the top 4 teams in CFB. 'Bama lost one close game to a very good Auburn team. Wisc. lost a close game to OSU. is OSU head-and-shoulders better than Auburn... I don't think anyone would argue they are. It's questionable if they are better, at all. More importantly; Would you put money on Wisc. over 'Bama if forced to bet? I'm sure a few would; but the majority of people, imho at least, would put their money on 'Bama over OSU or Wisc... heck, Vegas has them as the odds on fav. to win it all.
  3. I know im in the minority; but i believe the committee needs to put in the 4 best teams, regardless of whether or not they played in a ccg; and regardless of strength of schedule (to a degree; most P5 teams have a relatively tough schedule; of course some schools have it tougher; but not by an absolutely HUGE margin) No prob. Putting Bama in... Vegas has them as the odds of winning it all; and, in all honesty, the majority of us would probably put money on them over OSU, Wisc. USC, etc. if we were forced to bet (just my opinion, though). i dont think anyone was “robbed,” considering the ultimate job of the committee is to get the 4 best teams in, and not necessarily reward confrence champs (although i do see the counter-argument regarding ccg needing to mean something)
  4. I think we're all in consensus when I say the O-line was a (perhaps, the biggest) weak link last season. How long do you think it will take Frost + staff to turn just this unit around? It's of my personal opinion that the development was the biggest issue among the lineman; both, from a mental & (especially) from a physical standpoint. I look at clips from past great NU teams, and the o-line looks like big, yet lean, mean hombres... all 5. Our current o-line has some 'big' guys, but they kinda look like couch-potatos, for the most part (weight-room issues?). NO other B1G team has this issue. Who are some young guys on this unit that can make an impact next season? I'm not familiar enough w/ the depth to know who could potentially make an impact. Who do you guys think could step-up? I think Foster started the season strong then checked-out (like many other players). I think he may be an impact player if motivated by new staff. Jaimes looked solid at RT; could get even better w/ a proper off-season program. I liked what I saw from the few times we got to see Boe Wilson.
  5. i would recruit Soccer players of Cameroonian descent and turn them into DTs. I heard kids of Nigerian descent make good CBs, too.
  6. Oregon starting wearing a bunch of alternate uniforms then started winning a whole bunch...
  7. Anyone know what the chances are Frost brings in Helfrich as a staff member?
  8. I mentioned this, as well. Our S&C program has been broken for a while. It seems like Our staff were more concerned with putting 'weight' on by any means necessary, rather than putting quality weight (and developing strength to go w/ it) slowly/properly. Other lineman at top programs are 'rectangular' or 'apple' shaped (The midsection may be big, but the legs and upper body are big and strong); our o-line seems to field too many 'pear' shaped lineman.
  9. Well, if I was a highly coveted dual-threat QB or a 5-star pass rusher & NU hired Frost, I'd be 'N' in a heartbeat... but that's just me.
  10. Is it just me, or do many of the players (especially the O-line) appear 'sluggish' with a lack of lateral quickness. I'm not an expert in human anatomy, kinesiology or physiology; but to me, it looks like the staff simply tried to put weight on these guys waaaaay to fast, without a proper s&c plan, and w/o proper developmental time. When you look at lineman from other programs, they may have a large midsection, but they look broad & stout up top, w/ tree trunk legs... the weight looks properly proportioned. To be fair, though; #46/56 (Wilson) looked built like those Wisconsin lineman; I think he's gonna be a good one.
  11. His defenses cause 'impact migraines' I got a few just watching them.
  12. Florida St. might have a vacancy soon; replacing A&M's vacancy. Not sure, though
  13. I rather have Greg Bowl as our D Cord than Bobby d’At-Go
  14. There's a reason "step down" is in quotes. he won't get his official "buyout" money; but he'll get a Christmas card with a whooooooole lotta cash.
  15. Blackshirt quality & maintenance specialist? or just make him DL coach.
  16. I agree... my argument is just that it brings no positive benefits to fire him now; and it kinda makes our AD look bad by going against his word... although, again, personally, I wouldn’t mind if our AD fired him or not.
  17. There's a pretty big youtube video titled "How to lose a Heisman in 10 plays...." that features a Nebraska D... I predict a "How to WIN a Heisman in 10 plays" vid to appear in a week that also feature a Nebraska D...
  18. I wanted him fired mid-season; as I predicted the team would quit on him and player development would come to a halt... At this point, the damage is done. Firing him RN comes with very few positives. Maybe the players get invigorated because its the "beginning of a new chapter," but realistically, you're going against one bad Penn St. team, and an Iowa team that looks far more powerful than Minn, who just roll'd you. I don't see the team getting up for those games; MR, or not. Personally, I wouldn't mind if MR was canned tomorrow; but I also wouldn't mind allowing our new AD be a man of his word, and let this dumpster fire flame out.
  19. the lines are not being (and have not been) developed properly. Someone needs to step in and completely re-boot the way we develop our lineman and the way they play. THAT, alone, is probably gonna be a 3 year process, minimum, just to get the lines to be "competitive" at a B1G level; probably need another 2 years or so to get a dominant line in B1G play. I say the 'turnaround' is 3 years (since we have pieces in place; lines just need to be scraped, then re-built); but it'll take at least 5 years to become dominant, if we were to ever get to that point.
  20. Where does this thread rank among the greatest CFB threads of all-time... Gotta be up there. Would be a shame if Frost doesn't end up in Lincoln. Moos needs to whatever it takes to get this done.
  21. The other coaches probably voted him as 'underrated' for the same reason Fitzgerald was praising Riley after beating him last Friday. It's probably nice to have a team in your division hire a .500 coach you know you can beat on a fairly consistent basis. might as well tell fellow AD's in your Conf./Div.; "hey, this .500 guy is YOUR guy, trust me ; )"
  22. Ask TO if he can find it in him to coach for a year, or ask Jason Peter to try not to screw things up for a year than they are (I'm sure he can't; he'll probably improve this team, imho). I'm obviously being facetious, but part of me is serious, lol. but in all seriousness; yeah; I'd rather wait, then see another coach in here (w/ VEEEEEEERY few exceptions).
