  1. Didn't McQuitty redshirt last year?
  2. I learned we are still not very smart on defense. We've been giving up inside routes all year. Yet when we are playing man they line up head up on the guy. Take inside leverage and help yourself out.
  3. Morgan already at 75yrds. Better get him about 200 to lower his average he needs to get 1000
  4. maybe adidas threw some money his way like they do for basketball players.
  5. I was actually asking a serious question. I know in the modern era of football for the most part if your team has more than one loss you probably aren't winning the Heisman regardless of stats. which I don't agree with since its supposed to go to the best player, not the best player on the best team.
  6. Can't out do someone if you aren't at least trying. I think he's got the right attitude. As a coach for a few years we would give them out since my father actually earned one way back in the day. I would have players ask me when they were going to get theirs. I would actually point out stuff like this. I would ask them if they were running 100% on this play (I could obviously tell they werern't), if they said no I would just ask them if they thought they really deserved it (normally it wasn't just one play that I would point out). Most of the time they would say no and most of the kids actually wanted to earn them. Funny thing is too My father in the first 16 yrs of coaching didn't hand them out until he switched schools and took over a team with the longest losing streak in the state. Gave them something to be proud of even when we weren't winning games. Eventually they stopped quitting when things got tough like Riley teams and we won a bunch of games. There is no reason to think Nebraska can't get back to a dominating defense with a bunch of guys with the right attitude.
  7. I've defended Ozigbo a few times. Not that I'm trying to brag or anything. In all seriousness I'm just glad we have two backs that I don't mind get the ball.
  8. Has the Heisman ever gone to a player on a team with a losing record? or a .500 record if the Huskers get lucky
  9. I think Frost knows what it would mean to have Morgan reach 1000. They made more of an effort in the MN game to get him the ball. I can see them trying to get him the ball to make sure he at least has a chance to get there. He's pretty good and has proven he can go over 100yrds a game when he gets enough targets. In the first few games all the quick stuff seemed to go to JD and the other guy who left the team. Against MN Stanely got a few of those opportunities.
  10. Side note if you watch this movie there is a shot during one of the games and they cut to James Caan on the sideline and behind him to one side is a player. This player has to be in his 40's barely wearing his helmet correctly and has a walrus mustache. I just think its funny. They actually cast athletes for these types of movies but only like 30 to play all the other guys of every opponent. Then hire people off the street to be sideline guys. Then they have half a team of guys who would never see a football field.
  11. He could also break car windows with his forehead before his head even touched the window
  12. I played at the Div III level. Although I got a bunch of money in "presidential" scholarships I was in quite a bit of debt when I graduated. Now this was a pretty good school academically but I essentially paid to play football. I could have probably gone to a small school somewhere and got my education paid for but didn't. I dont think college kids should get paid. Half these kids can't stay out of trouble as it is. Throw in spending money and it gets worse. I received a 1k scholarship from the IHSFHOF for being good and also getting good grades. Did I spend that money on books? Nope, bought me two semesters worth of beer. Div 1 athletes get enough perks they dont need to get paid
  13. Haskins isn't a mobile QB but neither is what's his face from NW and he only needed on rec to beat us. I'm sure Ohio st has better rec than NW. Who cares if they couldn't run the ball against Purdue, Nebraksa can't stop the pass. They will also be coming off a bye week. I'll put money that the D will see lots of slants or digs or short post routes all day long from the slot.
  14. I must be seeing something different than everyone else. The last 3 games it has looked like he has played a lot better because the other team has been utilizing a slot rec to tear our defense up. They haven't attacked Lamar like teams did in the first few games because there hasn't been a need because we can't guard the slot. I guess I will say he has played a little better when the ball has come his way but i wont say something has clicked until I see a team go at him and he responds positively
  15. He looked faster in the spring because he was playing against our defense which is slow
  16. I like the fact Collin Miller is getting more reps.
  17. Do we have the most players showing up on these list by a team with no wins??
  18. It's obvious that Vegas controls the reffing bias mentioned in another thread and they are calling for a cease fire from the refs for this game
  19. Production is set up for people who dont know football. If it was for people who actually know football we would be watching endzone angles. Always laugh when people brag about sitting on the fifty yard line. Give me endzone seats any day of the week so I can see plays unfold
  20. I was fine with the call. Obviously the play broke down but I think AM showed he has much to learn. He launches it to the endzone but he had a open man right at the sticks. Get the 1st down and try for the TD in the next set.
  21. Ozigbo is terrible and slow. Where is Terrel Newby when you need him?
  22. well in that picture they are essentially in a 4-4 with a wide DE (Guifford) and Jackson acting as the 4th lb. What they should have been doing all game especially on third down is just putting an olb right on the TE and jamming him at the line then releasing to go to the QB. Would have got the same amount of pressure on the QB but would have slowed the TE down who was killing us on 3rd down.
