  1. I agree. Non-issue. They ALWAYS have a cam focused on him just in case he blows up or has a "talk" with a player. I'm friends with someone that is at most of their practices, and has nothing but positive things to say about how the coaches coach and the players play. Why must there always be controversy?
  2. Play-by-play kept patting himself on the back for proper pronunciation of Jean-Baptiste and Enunwa, but then kept calling Taylor "Martiniss"...was driving me nuts. They fumbled JP's name, too. As far as everything else, they seemed fair.
  3. That's what I heard, too. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
  4. Could have big Legends division ramifications. Still need to take care of business. Also, I noticed he's still on the sidelines in full gear with his helmet on. Maybe they're just hoping they don't NEED him.
  5. Bo said it looked like a serious injury to him. Generally Bo plays those things down, so I think it's going to be bad news. I don't know if this has been answered elsewhere yet...torn ACL/MCL for Tariq.
  6. I lol'd. I would say poor Lil Red, but there are far too many kids with this story. There are probably therapy groups for this sort of thing.
  7. I call BS. His first post was saying that HIS team fell out of the rankings, as well. His second was in response to someone saying we are part of the worst conference in the country. I didn't see his "na na na na boo boo" post. If I missed it, I apologize. All reasonable talk went out the window when "program relevance" became the topic of conversation.
  8. I like that Beck is pointing the thumb here, but I know at one point last year he said almost the exact same thing...that he was too stubborn with his playcalling. This wasn't the sole reason we lost, but seeing a few of our 3 & out drives was frustrating. Twice is a trend to me. The things that worry me are that we (coaches, players, fans) panic when we fall behind. Mid-major? No way. I do think the players and coaches let themselves down, though.
  9. Well you can always leave. Why would we do that? We fit right in. Just a thought for some of the posters on here that want to rag on the Big Ten without end. It's really unnecessary. At the end of the day the Big Ten didn't play UCLA/ASU/OSU last night, NU, Illinois and UW did, and we all lost. Don't take it out on Bucky. I like having opposing fans on the board that add to the conversation instead of constantly troll threads. "Relevancy" doesn't have a measuring stick. Seeing as Wisconsin just won the conference championship, I'd say that makes them relevant. Bucky, while I agree with what you've said, you know some fans say stupid things when their team loses. Don't take it personally. I generally avoid the board after losses because of posts like this. I'm sure several people will slam me for several "wrong" things I've said. It's easy to be happy when you're winning. We have some fans that make us look silly after losses. While I'm less optimistic about the season today than I was yesterday, the season continues, nonetheless. The majority of us here understand this, don't want Bo fired, are upset about the loss, hope the players and coaches respond positively, and pray for better tackling drills this week. ...back on topic here... We fell out of the rankings. Other teams that lost (Wisconsin) were similarly punished. We have a long season ahead of us, and a lot of improvements to make. Let's stop bashing each other's intelligence and opposing fans that have come to the rescue of OUR conference. Several B1G teams had a bad week. Better luck next week.
  10. I just created a FB account for the dog. I really didn't think we would catch up after seeing us slip over the past few days.
  11. I highly doubt they want to have that many days off and then have everyone pick apart a spring game next Saturday.
  12. Two weeks ago I listened to him speak. He made sure this time he said he is NOT representing the University while he was speaking, and did so with a wry smile on his face. He was very serious (imagine that) and spoke about what he said and that he still believes homosexuality is a sin. He then read the passage of the Bible that stated this. He also made it clear he is not "for" discriminating or preaching any hate or aggression towards anyone. He says this is very black and white. It's tough, because I know he isn't going to change the way he feels and he will not stop saying this in public forums, but I completely understand why the University cannot condone the things he's saying. His stance was that people cannot "change the rules" of Christianity, and that people need to follow the rules if they want to consider themselves Christians. Be clear I am just trying to summarize what I heard while listening to him speak. Hopefully I'm not misrepresenting or misinterpreting. I am keeping my own thoughts and beliefs out of this post.
  13. Found myself with some time this morning around campus, so I snapped these quick with my phone. I know they aren't much different (except a little more fog), but I want to keep everybody updated.
  14. Prilosec commercial had Larry the Cable Guy as spokesperson. There were guys tailgaiting with red 94, 84, and 22 jerseys. I might not like him, but he does rep us well.

  15. Didn't hear anything juicier....Just heard that he was enjoying his visit and that he loves NE.
  16. Booooo. I'll jump on the train. This thread sucks. I don't care who messed up, who didn't pan out, or who should have stepped up, all of these guys gave more to the program than I ever have.
  17. http://www.sportsbybrooks.com/meyer-agrees-to-coach-buckeyes-building-staff-29902 "Multiple sources close to the Ohio State football program have confirmed that Urban Meyer is assembling a coaching staff after agreeing to become the next head football coach at Ohio State. The deal between Meyer and Ohio State was consummated in principle earlier this week in Columbus but not signed. It includes a multi-year contract that will make Meyer once again one of college football’s highest paid coaches." Also... @pat_dooley: I can only tell you what Urban just texted me back about rumor that he has accepted job at Ohio State -- "No truth to it."
  18. I can confirm what Cina said-- the BK was replaced by Runza I believe in 2008-2009. The picture HAS to be across from Planet Sub in the walkway where they always have these booths placed. There's no room across from Imperial Palace. It's all tables and chairs. On a more related note...I thought the bowl was supposed to have "art deco" carvings or something on it? No?
  19. I totally agree it'd look cool if even MOST of the students did it. I like the way we support our kickers, but I am a little pessimistic about people doing it in inclement weather. I was there for 5 years (04-08 seasons) and never saw more than a few pockets. If it's catching on, that's cool, and I hope we can get more doing it. IIRC, we aren't the only school doing this. The link I posted in my last post states when it started. Again, the only thing I don't like is the split.
  20. Everyone (that's not holding their shoes up) holds both hands up and wiggles their fingers along with the aaaahhhhhhhhhHHHHHHHH oooooooo kickoff yell. As the ball is kicked they pull their hands down. It's the same thing the band/flag girls do. I'd be fine with the shoe idea if everyone did it....but they don't. It's small pockets, and like I said, when it gets cold or when it's inclement weather, they keep their shoes on and join everyone else. Here's a link that explains where it came from. I remember the huge debate students had on facebook about this group. I think it makes us look stupid when some are doing one thing, and some are doing another. It leads people to start threads like this and say "What's going on here?" I don't mind it, but everyone needs to do it if it should be considered a new "tradition."
  21. Saw it when I was in school, but don't remember it until my Soph year ('05). Hated it then, hate it now. People don't do it when it's raining or cold out, and it's not like EVERYONE does it. We already have the spirit fingers thing during kickoff, so I don't see why we need another.
  22. It's his old scout team uni... a la Jordan's UNC shorts under his bulls uniform.
  23. Haha...I like this. Always nice to have other people in the mix.
  24. And, I think it's okay to say we are (err...were) overrated. Crick leaned on Suh, and Dennard leaned on Prince. We lost huge cogs, and it's okay to say we aren't as good as we thought we'd be right now. I agree that it was one, albeit terrible, game, and we need to move on. I'm sure Bo will after film. We have a big game ahead of us next Saturday, a reputation to restore, and a division to try and win.
