  1. I think the sentiment on this board isn't necessarily representative of our entire fan base. I do think a lot of people want Scott but I think the majority of fans are still in the wait and see mode. I do think people are over hyping this thing which isn't good for anyone involved. I am going to my best to support the current team and plan to attend every home game the remainder of the year... especially since there are so many free tickets to be had.
  2. Whatever the perceived advantage Wisconsin may have over Nebraska should be erased since this game is being played at night in Memorial Stadium. I have no crazy expectations about us winning the B1G west this year... but I do think we can/should win this game. The "who wants it more" term comes into play for this game. Coaches need to get our guys up for this game more than any other on the schedule imo. I even bought the damn shirt... BEAT WISCONSIN!
  3. Great idea VV. Seems like this gets asked for every major game.
  4. I really like Mike - Just wish the on the field performance was there.
  5. A b******* would be awesome. You guys with a problem are out of touch imo. This kind of thing DOES matter to recruits and perspective future recruits watching at home with their friends/family. My 18 year old notices... Just hope the guys on the field can put together a solid game on both sides of the ball.
  6. I have no clue what to expect. Stopping Rutgers doesn't prove much. Holding NIU also tells me next to nothing. 2 touchdowns in 10 quarters looks great until you consider who we did it against. Is Illinois any better?? We will soon find out. Nebraska should score 24-30 at least against a crappy Illinois defense. My gut tells me easy cover but my heart says stay the hell away from this one.
  7. I don't give a rat what system we run as long as we run it well. It is so depressing watching our O-line get beat play after play. Our only decent runs come from amazing broken tackles- not from giant holes my old legs could run through.
  8. Makes my gut hurt what the next 2 years are going to be like... seriously. But if we have to go through the pain, I would rather we go back to a mobile QB system where teams have to defend against the QB run.
  9. No settling this time... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi-5JvZjrfWAhXEv1QKHYnGDw4QFggoMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sbnation.com%2Fcollege-football%2F2017%2F9%2F21%2F16346700%2Fnebraska-football-coaching-search-mike-riley-hot-seat&usg=AFQjCNHPM9A0g73hsajyH-_-9h5uPBaSYg
  10. The same guy we have been bagging on through the first two weeks? NIU doesn't have an offense to defend against so don't hang your hat on last weeks defensive performance. Make no mistake, our defense is going to get lit up over the next two months.
  11. I answered 9-3... If he can navigate the remainder of the season with only one more loss, I think that is a huge turn around and the guy should be allowed, with a short leash, to coach next season to see if he can keep improving. Of course that means he has to go 2-1 against Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin while beating several other teams that currently look better than us. Wonder what the Vegas odds on that are? I'm guessing worse than 100-1.
  12. http://www.cornnation.com/2017/9/19/16330026/nebraska-huskers-football-rough-start-reasons-program-is-special Hard to swallow right now, but maybe he is right.
  13. I'm grabbing at straws trying to be positive... and then I just watched a replay of the NIU game. Our O-line blocking was maybe the worst ever put on a field at Nebraska. To have hope for the remainder of the season would mean to hope for a Suh like performance out of our D-line. I was really down on Lee but after re-watching the game, I can't hardly blame the guy. He got hit almost every play... very few QBs could survive behind that o-line. All of that said... The product on the field that Riley is producing is considerable worse than what the standard is here and worse than any I have seen at Nebraska. I absolutely loathed Pelini but I can say I never saw us look this soft under him. To answer the question- not a chance we turn this sinking ship around unless something miraculous happens with the o-line.
  14. Texas looks a heck of a lot better than we do right now... they lost in double overtime to the #4 team in the country last week.
  15. I took my wife and 3 kids to the game Saturday. I try to go to 1-2 games a year and have been going for about 15 years. I didn't get to see any TO teams in person but I have seen all teams since. The feel of the game is different in person and I really get a better feel for the strength of our program from the stadium better than I do on TV. So many things are visible that you just can't see on TV. That said, this was the softest team I have seen in a Nebraska uniform. We have some players doing great... but as a team we look soft. I am no expert, but I felt like I was watching Illinois or Rutgers wearing our scarlet and cream. I am a really optimistic guy who doesn't get down on our team easily... but Saturday was enough for me. I have lost all excitement for the season. Right now I view our ceiling as hopefully being able to beat Rutgers next week. So sad.
  16. When I read some of the negative comments about his contract extension I have to really question the knowledge base of some of our fans. Most of us KNOW that a contract has to be 4+ years or recruiting drops off drastically. Even with the extension, hot seat talk really does take its toll on recruiting. I believe that is why Bo struggled so much his last year or two. When boosters and regents start calling for someones head, recruits run for more stable programs. While I may not be "happy" with our teams results over the past couple years, I absolutely think we need stability to right the program. The talent is starting to flow in again- I just really hope Riley can produce enough on the field to keep the wolves at bay long enough.
  17. Could care less what the score is this week- just want to see them "fix" some of the bone head stuff before conference starts. I have honestly started viewing non-conference like pre-season NFL. That said, this game shouldn't be within two scores.
  18. Thanks for posting this- I was about to do the same. The same guys would complain had we not ran him enough... "should have stuck with what was working" lol. Can't wait to read on Monday no matter what happens... It's like a soap opera for football guys.
  19. My life does fit the optimistic view point. My glass is half full sir. Maybe I'm lucky? A positive approach has been proven to medically improve a person by the way so it truly is healthy. Google it- gobs of information out there.
  20. http://www.cornnation.com/2017/9/8/16257100/nebraska-huskers-football-oregon-ducks-five-reasons-win I believe this sums up my thoughts. Optimism is healthy for the football fan.
  21. Week 2 of a weird prediction by Anna Gleason. Really hope she isn't right this week.
  22. Swear I typed Mayfield lol... been a long week.
  23. Nebraska and Oregon have a defense struggle- take the unders. ?? wins on late field goal 23-20 The hurricane all but misses Florida- they end up with just some rain. Miami feels silly for cancelling game Pitt beats PennSt...again Notre Dame squeaks out an ugly win Mayfield takes the early lead in the Heisman race when he dismantles the Ohio State defense- Ou wins by 10+
  24. Appreciate the updates GoDucks349. Sure hope it clears up for you guys.
