  1. In a country that everyone stereotypes everything being green, Dublin will be a sea of red!
  2. Does that make as much sense financially as joining the BIG?
  3. I totally understand. I'm trying hard not to pessimistic but it's hard.
  4. More likely to lose to Minnesota than Rutgers. I also think Purdue is a win and we beat either Wisconsin or Iowa.
  5. It would be a nice pick up but ultimately we're good at RB and need other positions more
  6. I don’t think it can be understated how important it is that Frost brought in offensive coaches that can actually make adjustments and force the defense to adjust. For the past four years everyone knew that if it was 3rd and short/medium the qb draw or power was going to be called. The opposing defense never really had to adjust from their pregame planning and the offense would fall flat on its face. Especially in the red zone. Hopefully Whiple and others can change that
  7. I really hope we pull this kid, but I'm afraid with Venables at OU if he wants a Wichita area kid it'll be damn near impossible to pull that kid away from him. Honestly that will probably go for any KS kid. Venables is extremely respected amongst KS HS coaches
  8. I can't help but think that we will look back at NIL and discover that a coach will be looked at similar to Snyder at KState. What I mean by that is Snyder took an absolutely terrible program and used JUCOs to build it into a national power. I don't think that NU is anywhere near as bad as KSU was and I'm not saying Frost will be that coach but I can sure as hell hope he is and we will look back at NIL as a saving grace for the program
  9. Maybe they have been in contact with him for awhile and waited to make sure he would even be interested if we offered
  10. What is the chance that NU has a contract with the field turf company that through x amount of years, stating that it will stay with field turf with the agreement it will be replaced a certain amount of time during the duration of the contract?
  11. This is true. But I think Bell's ceiling was higher than Ozigbo's. His speed and big play ability was pretty dang good
  12. You're right on. In an RPO you have to block the first level like a run, but you can't climb to the 2nd level and block like you would on a normal run play. It is blocked more like a run then a pass play, but it's not blocked like a traditional run play either
  13. It is really hard to tell. Stretching has changed so much since I was playing, it used to be that we stretched then warmed up. All the studies now show that static stretching doesn't do much, and that actually, if you do it before getting your muscles warm, it can actually be harmful. When it comes to pushing too much weight too fast, all of these guys have degrees and years of experience in that field. I like to think that they are not pushing a program that causes injuries. It seems like this has been a problem since before Frost was here. It cold be something as crazy as the way the turf on the practice field is. Studies are showing that more ligament injuries happen on turf then natural grass
  14. How in the hell was out run game strategy ever wait for the defense to attack? No wonder we hardly ever won the LOS!
  15. The NCAA will do what they always do and find a way to totally screw up
  16. I don’t see anyway this staff isn’t better at developing talent. The last staff was completely inept in that department
  17. Yea I guess you're right. Honestly last year just felt like more of the same.
  18. I agree, but I think it is not unfortunate but a good thing. I think we will se a legit #1 back with 1 or 2 guys spelling him. This every week a different guy gets the start and nobody is ever able to get into a rhythm or gain confidence because he's only getting to start sporadically is hopefully done. The best RB's will play, no more committee RBs anymore
  19. I don't know if OL technique has changed all that much. They down blocked, zone blocked, pulled, trap and had different types of pass sets in 80s. I think it may be that with Whipples system, the schemes and technique are more aligned with what NU used to do back then.
  20. Sounds like he's our to lose, but I don't think I've ever read one where the recruit talks about how terrible his recruiting visit was
  21. Also Manhattan is closer to Wichita than Lincoln. I really hoped Honas would be a big time player at Nebraska but that hasn't been the case. He has a better shot at KSU
  22. I really worry that like you said Frost made the changes too late, and 2022 will be his last year. He'll go coach somewhere else and end up coaching at the P5 level again after a few years. However he'll take the lessons he learned here and end up being a very good coach somewhere else and Nebraska will be stuck in the same rut it's been the last several years
  23. Maybe the coaches haven't pursued OL very hard because 1. Riola wants to see what he is working with and 2. Frost and the other coaches think that there is a lot more talent/ability then what we fans think
