  1. And Tanner Lee had 500 more passing yards in 2017 than Adrian last year. Not all stats are created equally.
  2. Dismuke will be riding high at that other safety spot, don't you worry.
  3. One person, besides a QB, probably won't make or break things by himself. The thing that he can affect greatly however is boosting the number of options that have to be accounted for by the defense. That is when things open up. Harder to account for 4 playmakers versus 3, 5 versus 4 etc. Cumulative effect.
  4. I concur. I don't want him heavier than that, that's what Mills is for. As a Broncos fan, I witnessed how Von Miller became way less effective when he gained 20 lbs because he lost the explosiveness. Dropped the weight and he was right back being a terror.
  5. On offense I think there are a lot of guys who will like Robinson, Hunt, Warner, Allen, Legrone. On Defense I expect big things from Taylor, Domann, Williams, Tannor and the line as a whole. The strength of the defense should be that d line.
  6. Sounds like a lot of your concerns are due to lack of experience and playing time at various positions. Sometimes, especially during a rebuild, getting new guys in who haven't played under old staffs is a good thing.
  7. There are some instances when they get it right yes. Then there are years with Derrick Henry over Christian McCaffrey, and Mark Ingram over Gerhart and Suh.
  8. Correct. It was also a miracle that Scott Frost was 1. Available and 2. Actually wanted to come take on what had become of the team. Or was it just a....
  9. Would that not get him invited? That's what you were asking. Haha. What I meant was, he would probably need similar stats to get there if we just won the west at 9-3 or 10-2. The Heisman has become the "best player on the best team" award and not simply the best player in college football award. Multiple loses seem to hold guys back no matter how good he is compared to his team.
  10. If he has 5000 yards and 45-50 touchdowns yes.
  11. Yep! In fact, I am so dedicated to this game that I already drive to Boulder to check on things 5 days a week.
  12. If he pulls starters early, that would be telling for the season as The Dude said....
  13. 08/31 - South Alabama - W 09/07 - @ Colorado - W 09/14 - Northern Illinois - W 09/21 - @ Illinois - W 09/28 - Ohio State - W 10/05 - Northwestern - W 10/12 - @ Minnesota - L 10/26 - Indiana - W 11/02 - @ Purdue - W 11/16 - Wisconsin - W 11/23 - @ Maryland - W 11/29 - Iowa - W I'm picking Minny to do well in the division, easiest schedule of any west team. Big Ten West Division 1. Nebraska 2. Minnesota 3. Iowa 4. Wisconsin 5. Purdue 6. Northwestern 7. Illinois
  14. Careful, you're aging me with comments like that.
  15. He's done pretty well on the back of two straight 4-8 seasons, one in only two months. Ranked #19 last year. If the wins come this fall like we expect, then I think things will start rolling in that regard to push NU to high single digits/low teens in the years ahead (2021 and beyond). I don't ever expect top 5 classes, as he will take guys who are perfect system fits but lower rated for whatever reason. 2020 I think 15-20 ish range again like 2019.
  16. I hear you and agree, I'm just saying to be up front with the kid no matter what you want them to do.
  17. What if he'd never hired Cotton? He might have been upset, talked his kids into going to Iowa State, and we might have never have had this:
  18. As I discussed with swmo in the Nash thread, honesty is the only way to handle it. If a kid gets upset by that, how will he handle being 5th string as a freshman? Life requires being able to analyze reality and respond to it. With waiting on kids I think some you'd wait until signing day, while others get a spot if they want to commit now. If you fill up, thats they way the cookie crumbled.
  19. I'll be interested to see how that would actually play out with one state having that rule versus the rest not having it. I don't see a way that wouldn't negatively affect smaller schools as well as non-football sports.
  20. The post didn't claim they dominated Clemson, just the other teams on the schedule that comprise the other 99% of the country. They took down Bama in a playoff as well. I think they belong in the top 3/dominating the country category in the playoff era. Guess what the common denominator is with these 3?????? Coaching! Now that Urb is gone, it's TBD.
  21. Pretty sure the ehhhhh was in reference to the "had offers to play anywhere" comment.
  22. I recall hearing that and something about him being fond of drugs, coke maybe.
