This could make sense since the week after Frost got fired they beat Ohio and have not won since, until yesterday. Rumors have it he was Trev's choice last year. Pressure off and he goes out and wins. Maybe she does not like the cable options in Lincoln and they are a streaming family- hence no cable guy rumors. Don't really have too much of an opinion who I prefer as the next head coach but I do think it will come from a group of Campbell, Bill O'Brien, Matt Rhule, Leipold, or a P5 coach who has not been mentioned but has looked at the changing landscape of college football and wants to secure a seat at the big table.

Auburn was the 7th ranked team at the time of the bowl game. if they were 4th ranked I think they would have been in the playoffs. still an accomplishment for UCF.

the year that he was hired to coach Kansas he did not have spring ball with them and the recruiting class was done and signed. so he has had 1 recruiting class and 1 spring football with the team. pretty damn good to be where they are now. the Tennessee Tech type game is a game Kansas has lost in the past with regularity. i don't necessarily want Lance as our next head coach but to say he should be doing better and should have things fixed at the absolute worst fbs program is a monumental reach of a take.

I like the idea of B O B as being our next coach. Previous experience, Saban coaching school, all the things that have been listed before but also the fact that he would not feel obligated to bring his staff from another school with him. He would have to go out and hire a staff and not bring his friends along. If the rumors are true about Trev opening the checkbook for assistants that would be a big benefit.

The defense played extremely hard and kept us in games but look at the numbers and they were just above average

I am worried about the defense as a whole. Depended a lot on the 6th yr super seniors, and was still just above average. The curse of a bend but don't break defense. By the end of year I think they were just burned up, banged up, and tired, and i can see the same thing happening this year breaking in a new offense. Will they be able to hold up? New starters on every level... a lot to ask.

I really don't know why people are surprised with this crappy special teams performance. Frost has admitted that when they start special teams practice with kickers he goes to the other end of the field. you get what you don't pay attention to.

Coach Osborne spelled it out real clear starting at 55 seconds. people say that the bar has been lowered, we have no bars and no standards anymore.

I think all the schools that you listed are chasing the same thing and are in the same boat for lack of patience, impatience boosters, lots of reasons.

according to 247 here are Hermans classes in Texas- 2017- 25th nationally 2018- 3rd nationally 2019- 4th nationally 2020-8th nationally i think that his problems were that he was 1-3 vs. oklahoma and never won the big 12. of course you hear other stories, but they are nothing unless proven.

i personally think one of the worst things was done on the day that he was introduced as the new head coach. to have that many former players back and tell him that he was the savior. To me, and I could be totally wrong, did nothing but set him up for failure. his ego did not need that much of a boost. it did not help that he made the Big 10 has to adjust comment. but everything about that day just set everything up for failure. and then when the criticism started it became bunker mentality from there.

i wonder if Frost knows that yesterday was kind of the last nail in the coffin type of loss. while Trev has been supportive in his comments, we don't know what has been said in their meetings. he could have pulled an Osborne and said that at 6-6 he could convince bringing people back but with changes, losing record is a no go.

I would not say we are a distant third as each job has its pluses and minuses. we have a new athletic complex being built, support teams like no other. it would take just finding the right coach. you don't need to win the introductory press conference- you need to win 2 to 3 years in.

i agree that if you are going to pull the trigger pull it now. just think of the jobs that are going to be open in the off season- USC and LSU are the big ones now. then you have the domino affect and then the carousel really begins. i feel you need to get out in front of this potential situation.

why is it embarrassing to bring up Tom Herman as a possible replacement?

Ohio St. will name the score as they need style points, that wont go into the one score column, Wisconsin will probably come close to shutting us out with that defense they have. Iowa will probably have an offensive breakout and score 14 points while holding us to 10. this performance after a bye week was terrible and to me shows the team is not being coached.

Don't know why people are saying Herman for just the OC. His record at Texas is looking pretty damn good right now.

Mark was diagnosed with Parkinsons. Don't think he really wants to coach anymore.

They have had 4 years to work on his mechanics and he still throw off his back foot, tries to just arm it, and does not turn his body and step into the throws. He had better mechanics as a freshman.
