  1. Even at these prices it's just not worth going to watch a Riley coached team. This is why we need a new coaching staff. Gotta have somebody to breathe some excitement back into the program.
  2. I have never heard of Karen Jennings before you brought her name up in this thread. I am sure I'm not the only one. There is no way she would be the highest qualified person for this position.
  3. Sometimes in life you have to take a chance and risk it, especially when the reward is high. That is what we're looking at with Frost. It was more risky to bring MR into the program when he was retirement age and coming off his worst seasons. The reward was also a lot lower due to his age, we would have had to replace Riley fairly quickly even if he came in and won. The risk with Frost is much lower and the reward is higher. With Frost you have the added benefit of him being a young guy who could get a lot of time, and stability is really needed in this program. It's a calculated risk I believe, and you have to know when to pull that trigger. If we don't get him now we may not ever get him as he will probably get another job at another big program soon. We're at the point where we really have nothing to lose, we're at the bottom. Let's roll the dice, I like our odds with Scott.
  4. I went with 2-4, wins against Northwestern and Minnesota. Honestly Purdue Northwestern and Minnesota are all essentially tossups. I don't want to see us going to a bowl with 5 wins again. No more participation trophies. That loss to NIU should disqualify us and we don't need any moral victory crap.
  5. I don't want to see us going to a bowl with 5 wins. We don't deserve it, especially after the NIU loss. We should turn down any participation toilet bowl.
  6. Bring Frost to town and those problems go away immediately.
  7. Right..because firing the man who hired him 3 games into the season just screams job security for MR.
  8. Vitalis has to be the most mind numbing sunshine poster on here. My lord. We could lose to anybody and he would still be on here defending the staff and talking down to the rest of us. Enough man.
  9. Yeah Wisconsin is not playing well at all, nowhere close to top 10. We are certainly outplaying them.
  10. If we don't make a move on Frost soon our program will remain irrelevant for years to come, write it down.
  11. I learned nothing, other than that Illinois is absolutely awful. Seemed like their quarterback was the only one who really gave a good effort. I will withhold judgement on whether we have turned a corner until next week.
  12. #1. Gotta go back to our roots to be successful and I think that's pretty obvious by how the last 15 years has gone. Division is inevitable in a situation like our program has right now, and I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes it takes turmoil to get things going in the right direction, a "reset" if you will. Hopefully that reset is finally coming soon.
  13. We desperately need to make the correct changes for the program this time, and reading that is proof. Lord that was cringe worthy.
  14. It's hard not to like Mike Riley, he's a damn good dude. Unfortunately, that doesn't make you a good football coach. I think it's pretty clear he's not the man for the future of our program. Realistically the guy will be retiring soon regardless. He came and gave it his best shot, it didn't work. No shame at all in that.
  15. Want to know what's even more unbelievable? Riley is the highest paid public employee in the entire state of Nebraska..
  16. Frost is who I would pick to lead the Huskers through the next couple decades. Our program needs stability desperately, Scott is the perfect guy to bring just that.
  17. Can't believe they have Iowa in the win category. After watching them play Penn St I just have a hard time seeing it.
  18. I chose 3 more wins, and that's being optimistic. Illinois is about the only sure win left on the schedule, maybe Northwestern depending on how they're doing by the time we play them. Maybe we get lucky and catch Minnesota and Purdue on an off day. Those 3 games are essentially tossup as far as I'm concerned. Could see us getting 1 of em. Unless a fluke happens I think it's safe to assume Wisconsin, Ohio St, Penn St, and Iowa are all losses.
  19. I learned that the sooner Riley is let go the sooner I can maybe begin to enjoy Husker wins again. At this point wins really don't mean long term success of the program. This win against Rutgers was a moral victory and nothing else.
  20. The point is that we haven't accomplished anything under Riley, certainly not this season.
