  1. It's 50 degrees here in Ann Arbor, going to get to about 70 during game time. Should be a great day for football. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get back from the game. GBR!
  2. Sadly, Bethune-Cookman does nothing to refute his accusation.
  3. It could have been a cost consideration. Liberty would have asked Nebraska to pay the buy-out due to New Mexico.
  4. Akron contract The problem is lightning is not a named peril in section 9. Section 10 bolsters that with the "reasons other than those stipulated." One could argue that lightning is implied by the the natural forces named. I'm guessing that's Moos' position. Obviously lightning should have been included, as well as a catch-all phrase like "other natural disasters." Also, the game was called in accordance to NCAA rules. Section 2 gives Akron the upper hand. The NCAA should have been named along with the judicial or governing authority in section 9. The good thing is that this will be adjudicated in Nebraska, we'll have home court advantage...
  5. Just kidding on the Scott Frost Mega Thread, it's near 17,000 posts refuting Jessica. Actually, up in the right hand corner is a check mark that says 'mark site read'. Hit that and you'll see the new content.
  6. Wondering when this would come up. Intentional kicking, as I understand it, different than keeping a ball alive. Intention kicking would be kicking the ball out of a ball carrier's hands, kicking a loose ball like a fumble or onside kick. You are allowed to use any part of your body, including your feet, to keep a pass alive. Or do I have it wrong?
  7. If Kiffin wants a job at Nebraska, he would tell his agent.
  8. in 96, #11 Michigan went out to Boulder and avenged the Hail Mary, Colorado was 5th in the nation. 97 was the rubber match between McCartney and his former d-backs coach. Are you sure it was just another game?
  9. Just 3 years earlier, #7 Colorado beat #4 Michigan with Kordell's Hail Mary. Just another similar connection?
  10. Bill McCartney was Bo Schembechler's defensive coordinator at Michigan prior to getting the HC job at Colorado. Lloyd Carr was the d-backs coach at the time. It's wasn't a rivalry based on tradition but it certainly was a rivalry game.
  11. Bailer was a common opponent that year too. Michigan beat them in the Big House 3-38. Nebraska beat them in Waco 49-21, it also rain 4" during the game.
  12. Turner Gill holding on line 2 Charlie Ward holding on line 3
  13. The first down play is just as hard to watch as the INT.
  14. I live 15 minutes from the Big House so I keep this handy when discussing 1997 Offense Defense Total Scoring Rushing Passing Total Scoring Rushing Passing Nebraska 1 1 1 104! 5 12 3 28 Michigan 44 44 28 63 1 1 7 1 Washington State 2 2 48 4 30 59 27 59 Tennessee 4 14 52 6 32 32 8 96
  15. When did anyone say AM was 100%? (Honest question, not snarky.)
  16. We're 18th in rushing offense and 21st in rushing defense. Even our 42nd total offense is a good improvement over last year (87th).
  17. Yes, Farmer was on the sidelines, you see him walk by as the camera is showing Washington on the bench after getting hurt. There's not much emotion to read from his brief cameo. Farmer came out after a penalty at 4:20 left in game, it was the 7th play of that series. Farmer returned on the following series at 2:20. Without looking at all the game, he may have played 83 downs prior to coming out. It's hard for me to think its anything more than he was being rested.
  18. Farmer comes out at 4:20 in the 4th, replaced by Wilson. Farmer is back in at 2:20.
  19. There was a sideline shot of him walking by the benches. I thought maybe he was being rested but wondered why at that moment.
  20. Shea Peterson has a 171.19 passing effeciency, he puts the ball right where it needs to be. Our secondary is going to have to cover better than they have so far. The rest of their offense is average. Our d line should have some chances, Michigan has given up 11 sacks in 3 games. They also are penalty prone, like us. Noon start is their bread and butter, Lloyd Carr used it snivel about any other starting time. I'll be in Row 714 in the sliver of red at the Big house.
  21. I too think UCF's prior success gets overlooked. Yes, they were 0-12 and 13-0 two years later is quite an accomplishment. To shed a bit more light on you comments, Here's what UCF did those prior years: 2012 - They played and lost on the C-USA conference championship 2013 - They switched conferences and were undefeated in conference play, winning the the AAC title outright 2014 - They lost a single conference game (The Civil Disagreement game) and were co champions
  22. It was good to see a targeting call in the TCU-tOSU game get overturned.
  23. UNCLE! I'll retract. While watching the game, I replayed it and concluded that the penalty occurred before the action was in the camera angles. After watching it yet again, it's pretty clear the ref threw the flag on what was caught by the camera. It was a crap call.
