  1. Imagine being a team that the only 3 games they have won has been against Illinois, Fordham, and Buffalo!. That said, Vegas undestands how bad Iowas offense is! Iowa will attempt to lose every way possible, but Frost will try harder. I am betting the Hawks win the game without the offense scoring a touchdown.
  2. It was the original poster that referred to it as your "bowl game", not me. I was just bringing up that calling it a bowl game could give Coach Frost a way out of playing it as he and his players might be tired from a long season.
  3. Gotcha! I thought that maybe Coach Frost might pass on a bowl because they are just too worn out (like last year), it has been a long year, and his "warriors" need rest. That one single decision to pass on a bowl game and the extended practice time was enough to prove that Frost is not into it. He is there for the payday and fame.
  4. Since this is looked at as a "bowl game" I really hope that Frost and his players are not too worn out from a long season to play, like before. I do not think that an OC will be announced, as I am betting that Frost is still on the hot seat and a big loss may still get him canned. Who wants to come into that. Vegas has the Huskers by 4, which is probably right, but Frost and Martinez will choke on a ditch chicken bone down the stretch and F it up. Hawks by a few (the Hawk defense will score their only touchdown, but 4 field goals added to it will be enough)
  5. I suspect that Iowa will win by a hair, and not because of their offense, which is horrible. In actuality, there can be two winners in this game. Iowa can win by scoring more points, but the Huskers can get another moral victory just by being close. Unfortunately Frost has lowered the bar so much that just being close is good enough. It is clear by this board that many of the fans have lowered expectations also. Jeez, remember way back when you had a good team and it felt easy? Remember when patsy teams would come into Memorial stadium back when there were legit sellouts and applaud for the team that just got pummeled? Seems like a long time ago because it was. I say Iowa wins 19 (1 touchdown/extra point and 4 field goals) to 16 ( 2 touchdowns, one missed extra point, one field goal) and it will be a nailbiter down to the end. Frost will mismanage the clock, AM will try to pull a miracle, and Iowas Moss will pick it off to end the game. BTW, Iowas one touchdown will either be a pick 6 or a kickoff/punt return for TD (because the offense sucks that bad). In the end, it will be the nail in Frosts coffin.
  6. Many are saying that next weeks game against Iowa is Nebraska's "Bowl Game". If it is looked at that way, is there any chance of the team voting not to play, as they did before? I am sure they are tired from a long season. If they are going to take a pass on it, I hope that Frost decides soon so that I can plan to go out hunting instead. That all said, in todays game, the Huskers were "Warriors" and they were "so close, just a few plays away", and they are very, very close to "turning the corner". I really hope that Trev Alberts comes to his senses, backs out of the deal, and sends Frost packing (maybe that is why they have not hired any assistants, Trev wanted to wait and see?). Please make the B1G stronger!
  7. And keep in mind, Fry was there from 79 to 98. Forty two years with 2 coaches.
  8. Yes, I really do hope that the Huskers get better on the field. It is good for the health of the conference and all of the teams within. Believe it or not, I do not hate every other team in the world besides the Hawks. With the NIL and the transfer portal, we need to keep the conference strong so that we continue to get the revenues. I understand that where you are looking from (the bottom) you may have plenty of hate, but I seriously hope that things get turned around. Firing the 4 just seems odd. Show me where it has been successful to do that. Are those coaches really being blamed? Will this all of a sudden make Frost a good coach? A bad leader (and he may be a great guy) will be a bad leader no matter who falls in behind him. You will be firing him in 2 years max.
  9. Not quite. Firing Assistant Coaches is purely a band aide. Does anybody really believe that they were calling the shots and not Frost? If so, Frost is a worse head coach than thought. Not a good leader at all. was it the assistants that passed on the bowl game and made the decision to break ncaa rules?
  10. As in a Natty in the first 3 years? Next year will continue to be a cluster, but Neb will win more due to the weak schedule. Add those wins to your moral victories and it could get you into the Participation Bowl.
  11. It will be interesting who, and what you will need to pay them, to come aboard this sinking ship. To say that the assistants were to blame for this debacle is just crazy. Didn't these people answer to Frost? Next year the new coaching staff will be used an an excuse for not winning games, even with the easy schedule next year. Instead of this move, they either should have kept them all for another year, or fired them all. Is it really the fault of the Assistants?
  12. Sometimes I am amazed at small minds. What I said was Conference Championship in 3 years. Did I say forever? Did I say mediocre? Hell, on this side of the river we are embarrassed for you guys and would like to see you get back to prominence. Frankly, many in the conference are second guessing whether they should have even allowed Neb in the B1G. We expected a solid program, not a dumpster fire. Get you s#!t together, get a coach that does not do STUPID things like pass on a bowl game, and start the process of getting better. I believe there are a ton of coaches that would love the opportunity in Lincoln. Now, if you think that you will be in the Natty in year 3, you are just dumb.
  13. I totally disagree. I believe that where the program is right now it is a HUGE opportunity for somebody to come in and turn it around. If somebody really invests themselves into it and gets the team behind them, I bet that next year you are winning 6, and within 3 years chasing a conference title. Lincoln gives all of the support a coach needs, but Lincoln cannot instill all of the things that a coaching staff needs to. Way back in the 70's, Iowa was terrible. Along comes Hayden and a few years later we are in the Rose Bowl. Many coaches would be honored to coach at Nebraska. YOU just need to get rid of the one that you currently have........
  14. Pro- The only "pro" is that he played at Nebraska. Now that has been proven not to matter as far as wins and losses, turn him loose. Con-You guys have given him every opportunity. Paid him well. Allowed him to bring in Assistants at twice the payroll of the past assistants. Pretty much allowed him keys to the City. As a fan base you should hold your heads high as to the opportunity that you gave him, it was just well over his head and it is time to move on. He is just begging to buy time to get to a softer schedule next year. Better game plans? I don't think so. Fire him, today, with cause, let Chin take over the rest of the year, and get your new coach in place as soon as possible. There will be some portal transfers in and out, but a good coach and motivator will make great use of the portal.
  15. To everybody else in the nation, the streak ended when donors had to buy unsold tickets before a game. It is a joke to say it is still intact, but I guess as a team, if that is all you have to hold on to, you cross your fingers behind your back and cherish how the streak continues.
  16. When the fan base get accustom to "moral victories" like HCSF, why make any changes? Maybe get a participation trophy at years end?
  17. It is not quite that bad, or maybe it is even worse, depending on how you look at it. Technically, last year was a "bowl game year" (just like technically the sellout streak is in place) but the head coach allowed a few players to decide that they no longer wanted to play, so he made the decision to miss out on not only the bowl game, but the additional practices that came with it. It was at that point that HCSF became a real loser. Who does that? Make the entire B1G stronger and get rid of him sooner than later.
  18. Conjecture from statistics like that are absolute crap. This is what politicians do! Did you figure out what the rating would be IF an additional 14 points were scored. I would argue that would be far more likely than erasing all 27 points. No statistic will cover up the wins and losses, unless you are a “moral victory” guy like Frost and his merry band of misfits. Quit making excuse for the dumpster fire happening in Lincoln! Do the rest of the B1G a favor and get a coach in there that not only does not embarrass Nebraska, but the whole league. That said, maybe just keep replaying the sam old press conference about “warriors”, “getting closer”, and “great week in practice”. The last time I looked, nobody really cares about those, just wins and losses. I am betting that negotiations are going on right now that will pay Frost a portion of his golden parachute if he just leaves. If he doesn’t, my bet is that he is fired with cause for breaking NCAA rules and gets what he deserves, nothing. please stop the embarrassment to the league and make a move!
  19. I don't get how an adult can use the word "bruh". I still believe that Frost will be fired. He will either take a reduced payout and they separate amicably, or the University will flat fire him with cause.
  20. It is simply the fact that Scott Frost is evidently happy with moral victories.
  21. I think that he will be fired at the end of the season, not for just being a s#!tty coach, but because of the NCAA infractions that happened on his watch. There may still be some kind of backroom buyout deal, but doing it now would cost allot less than letting it slide. I hope that beating the Hawks (which could very well happen) does not give a false sense of how good they are, or how far they have come, as Iowa is very, very over rated.
  22. Snipe Riley from OU! #3 team in the country and he benches his Heismann candidate in order to put his team in a position to win. Frost would be incapable to taking such risks to attempt to right the boat. That said, his players are "Warriors", they are "just a few plays away", they "practiced hard this week", are very close to "being over the hump". Oh yea, we are "going to change the way the Big 10 plays". I was glad when he went to Nebraska to help lift the program and the B1G, but has fallen to pretty much be a disgrace. Pull the band aid off so that the program can get better. Who in the world would have guessed 2 years ago that Frost would be 1-4 this year and the first year Illinois coach Bielema would be 2-3 with a wins against Nebraska and Penn State. Beliema has the same players, he just coached them into believing they can win instead of celebrating moral victories and close games. Hell, the league should take some of their TV dollars and help buy Frost out of his contract just to make a better B1G.
  23. I really believed that Frost was a good choice for Nebraska and the entire Big 10. He lost me last year with the "play anybody, anywhere" early in the year, changed to "hey, my guys decided that they do not want to go to a bowl game this year". Who does that? Good coaches (not even great, just good) would have basked in the opportunity for several weeks more practice and one more game . If nothing else, more time to iron things out for next year. Well, how did "next year" turn out? If Nebraska does not win 2 more, with one of them being Iowa, I cannot imagine a reason to keep him around. Good guy, just not a great coach for this point in time.
