  1. Watching Scott's last couple pressers, I'm more encouraged by his tone, and hopefully players match his level of urgency (no panic, but it's no BS time). He's finally getting on players and disciplining poor play. I think he'd roll with his staff until something dire is needed. And we're not there yet. Let's see a couple cycles of recruiting first...
  2. Yes, Martinez is going to be a stud. He needs to improve accuracy on his swing passes and get through his reads more quickly, with confidence to throw a receiver open. This comes with time and lots of study, as well as trust in O Line and receivers doing their jobs
  3. Barry this season, Devine, and a few others are warriors. #21 deserves some splinters from sitting the rest of the year. Imagine this team with 22 starting warriors and 80+ on the team.
  4. I'm all in on HCSF. He is the man to turn the ship. Two possible concerns, however (and no, I'm not panicking or calling for heads): 1. Scott is extremely loyal. He is a man of high integrity. If it came down to it, could he let a coach go? Chin gave up a metric mile in the last three games at UCF. He's bringing DB's up to goal line packages in B10 games (UM) and getting rolled. He's a flag for me right now, but I have patience. Our ST needs no exposition...it's dreadful. DeWitt is another flag. Can Frost pull a trigger on a coach? Do you see it in him? 2. Speaking of Special Teams, watching OSU, Urban leads that group. A starting wide receiver (read, top athlete) made a heck of a play on a kick to bury the PSU returner. A tier 1 team has its HC leading that group. NU has an asst. coach playing double duty right now. We may need even more emphasis here than I'm seeing planned. I did like his post presser. He's done with patty cake. It's war time.
  5. There was a point something bad happened and he was dancing. He was near ground on the TV. Not 100% sure the context, it wasn't good, and he was dancing
  6. He put in work. After Troy I was saying he was 3rd in line. I'm very proud of how he has fought.
  7. In the presser Frost mentions backups dancing during kickoffs. If he in any way meant NU kicking off, isn't that a thing they're doing? Do we just do it when winning or with momentum? I'm curious what he was thinking...or maybe he's just so full of emotion his mind isn't fully clear. I do know some intent; stop dancing around and get to business. The kickoff thing is a bit confusing as I would think the staff is in sync.
  8. I actually agree. Feigning "progress" under a Riley win just kept NU is the backslide. The right guy is here in HCSF.
  9. I think the fans on this board are grading about a D+, for many. There's a lot of change, questionable talent, bad bad apples corroding spots of cultural reform. Give it time
  10. We'll take what we can. Even on "stops" there's likely 4-6 moments to coach and correct.
  11. Hopefully this Offensive rhythm gives us more confidence this season. A mini Michigan-was-UCF's-'16-turnaround...that last week was not for us.
  12. My biggest fear for this game? We focus so much on the refs' awfulness we deflect from how dominating Purdue was in the trenches and when we needed a stop, we didn't get one.
  13. We cannot get stops when we need them. Their O Line is doing what we need to be doing. Case-and-point - their chop blocked knocked all D linemen down. Ours whiffed three guys
  14. This is not the O's fault. Not close. It's independently bad right now.
  15. Probably not. But they should be showing progress?
  16. The dive block...whiffs again. People need to start sitting on the bench.
  17. What keeps McCaffrey here to possibly only start his senior year? Not rhetorical, but 4 stars usually expect to start more years than not in their 4 year stints? I like having a Jr. and a Freshman so the Frosh is looking at possibly starting for two years....and I'll take all the quality we can get right now. Just curious.
  18. I will say the class act that is Bill Moos is certainly a nice padding for this small rough spell. Bill is savvy and wise; he supports Frost and will give him what he needs to succeed. The ship will turn. Culture is a heck of a thing to change. We shot trap today and one guy couldn't hit the clay. He needed to see one hit. When he saw it, he got on a roll; saw what success looks like. I think the guys need to see a win, alleviate pressure, and in concurrence, a winning attitude (culture change) permeates the locker room and campus. There will still be pitfalls, but it will change. This board will look very different in two seasons.
  19. I'll be good if our only identity for this year is, no team works harder and fights more, man-for-man
  20. I agree. I listened to it in the car, wincing. How was that close? They got mauled at the line. He listed 3 guys by name "doing it right" and alluded to more, but how is bringing 185 lb DB's, to a full house MU goal line package, close? And good practices are fine, but we've heard good prior and come to find out the last couple weeks weren't good. I was hoping for more bite and acknowledgement towards reality. I think I want to see a lot of new faces. I wanted to actually hear a few quit. MU said we gave up in spots! The wins will be a by-product of culture reform...which is overdue. To also re-affirm, I'll be all-in on Frost while he's in Lincoln.
  21. I've been saying the emboldened as well. Fully agree. Culture needs to change now. And the athletes talk throughout the week. They talk to each other. You have a couple that are poisonous and not believing, they plant bad seeds with others. Coaches usually don't find out but it shows on the field. They are losers and defeatists. They must be treated like malignant tumors and removed. We have the coach. We have tradition. We have the fanbase and the money. Clean the festering boils of past recruits, compete every play moving forward, keep planes clean, go to class, and recruit the 3-5 stars that are hungry backed by a healthy walk on group that never feel entitled to put on the N. I could not be more on board to what we have in front of us. I hope the staff is as passionate to clean up the anchors on the team as they are hopeful for the future.
