  1. I won't be at all surprised if NBC pays the $75 million. In fact, I'd be more surprised if they didn't and TBH, at the current B1G and SEC rates broken down per school, I think that is a fair request. If NBC decides it's too much so be it, they can then pay more if they want to get into conference contracts to broadcast college football. Truth is, all this hoopla is doing is adding to the destruction of the real value of the dollar not to mention hurting college sports as a whole. Ugh... would love to go back to the days of split titles and off season discussions of who would have beaten whom... those were the good times. However, I digress... times have changed and the change is only beginning. Better to sit back and enjoy the ride, yes?
  2. One awesome twitter handle, 2 boring handles but 3 talented players. Little surprised with the QN but fine with it at the same time. Nelson is a no brainer and big V could be huge this year. Ugh... gotta say, I'm getting excited!!!
  3. Here's me being a positive fan. No hard feelings here but I hope your diet is filled with crow come december
  4. I was talking to a certain Omaha Metro coach this weekend and he stated he hoped Nebraska could begin getting old. I didn't understand his statement and asked him to clarify. He pointed out in today's NIL, he thinks successful programs will target 3 star and project lineman (both sides of scrimmage) to avoid transferring and lower the NIL required costs. Thoughts? Never heard "getting old" on the lines before.

You see it at the HS level too...9th and even 10th graders almost never go up to varsity to play the line, they have to be freaks.

Why wouldn't you target 4-5 star players and hope that you get old on the line?

I think the coach was in the opinion that today's 4 & 5 star players believe they shouldn't have to wait and therefore if they aren't starting they'll transfer out. Could be wrong but I think he just felt it best to get old on the lines, recruit 3 star and project players. Kind of makes sense if the university is wanting to lower it's NIL costs I guess.

  5. Dude, we know you're not a positive minded fan. We get that, truly we do. Still, in lue of the fact that we've not witnessed even a single real game live snap and only have film to go off of your quoted statement about the backs leads me to believe that you are actually hoping they fail. Ugh... more debbie's on here then joan's of late. (referring to debbie downers vs joan of arch, one always doom and gloom, the other always filled with courage and fight)
  6. Adrian, class act thru and thru!! Much Respect to you my man!!! You're class will carry you to success in life!!!
  7. I foresee to many speculative assumptions. Heck, the B1G hasn't even hinted at a 2023 schedule yet let alone a 2024 and beyond schedule. I know it's fun to speculate and predict but ugh... I wish the B1G would more openly discuss the topic. Pods, are they leaning that way? Divisions, are they leaning that way? Is the scheduling intent to mandate 9 conference games or is it going to be more? Truth is, until the finalize a new TV contract I doubt there will be any open discussion on the scheduling topic. Hush, Hush is the motto of the B1G administrators and I don't believe there is a better Hush Hush group of administrators in all of college athletics. Gotta admit though, it's been fun reading some of the speculative suggestions/ideas. I'm not bright enough nor knowledgeable enough to create a speculative schedule so, please continue. Who knows, maybe one of the speculations ends up having merit.
  8. I thought they got rid of the 85 limit this year and next so as not to cause recruiting issues resulting from the gained covid year not counting. As usual I'm probably wrong again. :'(
  9. I see one very glaring issue the rivals poster chose to ignore... The thumb issue that resulted in the seasonal struggle. I like this rivals poster's glaring position. He, like many, are looking past the Huskers. May this glaring oversight of checking the win box before the game is played come around and bite him and every doubter/naysayer in the Arse!!!
  10. They paid alot of NIL money to bring Thompson in so it would be hard to bench him. I think Chubba's health progressed faster than expected and will lead to a very interesting fall camp. I like the fact that Thompson is experienced and watching his film, the dude is an "all in" type of player. I like that mind set and Thompson isn't going to slide a yard short on 3rd down, probably not on 2nd. He has heart... I can respect that and support that. Hard as hell to root for one over the other really. Hopefully, both get playing time. (even if one is in mop up)!!
  11. lol, It was supposed to say ineptness, not sure how inadequate popped. Almost the same but "the pill" comment was AWESOME!!!
  12. I think one issue was coaching inadequacy. The offensive staff was lacking. Hopefully the new staff is much better at developing the talent. Time will tell, yes?
  13. Regional Proximity and our RB depth is the reason I joined Decked and others here. Headed to BC
  14. I heard a pod caster yesterday (think it was josh pate) say that Stanford, Oregon, Washington and Cal are included. Then Notre Dame and Carolina. First to be announced will be Notre Dame followed by the others. If that happens I can see 3 super conferences evolving with 24 teams and a completely new type of governorship as the NCAA's time has reached an end.
  15. They're talking Stanford, USC, UCLA and Notre Dame with Oregon and Washington to follow.. so, 20 team super conference
  16. I'm wondering if others are of the same mind as I am. I think it would be great to establish a Big 12 revival rival. We are focusing on Texas recruitment more now and honestly I think it would be awesome to renew an old rival in Okie State or even TCU in all sports. Iowa has their annual in-state rival with ISU. Why can't a couple B1G and Big 12 teams do the same. I think an annual Baylor/Northwestern rivalry is very marketable. Two private schools facing many of the same recruiting challenges. Another might be Minnesota vs K State. Seems there are profitable opportunities to expand trophy games and it would also make scheduling future schedules in all sports a little easier if the administrators knew they'd always face this foe in all men's & women's marketable sporting venues. (Football/Volleyball, Basketball, Baseball/Softball) Additionally, with the growth of soccer nationally, that sport may soon become more relevant too. Just a thought.. is it viable at all?
  17. Good for Frank Solich.. Most coaching victories ever in the MAC.. Good Luck Coach

This is great news. Firing him was such a huge mistake! I wish him the best. He deserves to be in the HOF.

That dude probably LOVED coaching at Ohio...no "pressure" no sports talk shows...2 reporters, if that, covering the team.

True. It was probably great to coach in a place where you were valued.

  18. I don't have a clue as to what the future holds and don't know enough to even guess but what I do know is the team's success lies on the O-Line blocking for a dominant back. Our stats at the end of games should look more like this from the 2014 Miami game. In particular the BOLD text: (btw... Ameer ran for over 230 yards that day) That's the winning formula. Was then and is still... edit: Dear old NU is the right column obviously 1st Downs 24, 27 3rd down efficiency 4-10, 7-10 4th down efficiency 2-3, 0-0 Total Yards 435, 456 Passing 359, 113 Comp-Att 28-42, 9-13 Yards per pass 8.5, 8.7 Interceptions thrown 2, 1 Rushing 76, 343 Rushing Attempts 23, 54 Yards per rush 3.3, 6.4 Penalties 9-82, 7-69 Turnovers 3, 2 Fumbles lost 1, 1 Interceptions thrown 2, 1 Possession 26:20, 32:51
  19. Come on Ladies... this uni fan base is relying on you all carrying the sker's flag high. Not with you in person but with you in spirit. Swing em true, glove them deep and walk away victorious!!!! GBR
  20. and.. when we have the same record against maryland as we do ohio state then what.. at this stage of our men's programs does it really matter who we play. we're currently the worst men's program in the conference. sadly, I personally don't see that changing.
  21. tOSU would be an awesome permanent crossover opponent. I'd love to have them as an annual opponent. Nobody complained about always having to play OU did they, no.. in fact, they threw a fit when that game was removed as a permanent opponent. I want, hope, that we can have either tOSU or Michigan as a permanent crossover.
  22. Actually, the seeding isn't that bad.. we wouldn't have to face FSU until the CWS so... Illinois will have to face Mizzou and if they win that, face FSU to reach the CWS.. Our champions face Okie State and when they win that then they get Clemson... The seeding isn't as bad as it appears.
  23. Lead off with a homer, ended with 2 incredible innings in the 7th and 8th.... B1G CHAMPS BABY!!!! Someday, maybe, the football team can celebrate like the girls did this morning!!! Congrats to our Husker Ladies "B1G Champs"
  24. And... our ladies advance to tomorrow's championship game with a 2-1 victory over tOSU.. bottom of the 7th double to score the runner on and win the game. Tomorrow is a morning game (10:30) early start as they are expecting afternoon storms. They'll be facing either Michigan (2-0 verses Michigan this year) or Northwestern (0-0 vs Northwestern).
