  1. And what I find interesting is that a few of the older players seemed to rebuke what Wandale said - particularly Mo Barry. Maybe I read it wrong, but what he said about it "not being that bad" pretty much tells the story of the difference in expectations between the older guys who have been around and the young guys.
  2. I'd still say that power is an important part of playing RB. Wandale gets thrown around like a rag doll at times, and it speaks volumes about his toughness that he continues to get up after those big hits.
  3. There are a ton of nuances to this discussion that people completely disregard. If not done exactly right, this could have severe damaging effects to college athletics.
  4. Ironically, Moore got loose twice last year on us iirc, but aside from that, I'd say our D did as good of a job against him as any team they played. I'd go the other way with it. If Moore plays, it's a 50/50 game. If he doesn't, I'll take us by 2-3 scores. Purdue hasn't been nearly as good this year as they were last year, and sindelar is hurt.
  5. Supposedly Frost just heard about Dismuke as he was coming off the practice field... I don't wanna say I don't believe him, but... I don't believe him LOL
  6. I know Frost is high on him. I haven't seen a ton from him up to this point. I think he still needs to add some weight, and obviously needs a lot of skill development on the field
  7. I could see next year turning a corner to the tune of 8-9 wins, but we will see. I agree with what you said though.
  8. Poor LB play has just killed this defense. They over-run the cutback lanes when trying to fit the run, and the only one fast enough to cover anyone in the back end is Domann, and he got tore up by Indiana's receiver. I don't know enough about what the players are coached to do, but Minn and Indiana both picked on our LBs all game and had great success.
  9. You're definitely right about the lack of production from that position. The problem is unfortunately we have a lack of options at this point. I'm a fan of Nelson because of his motor, but he's just a freshman.
  10. If we can hold Iowa to 10 points, I feel good about our chances. If we hold them to 20, I feel good about our chances. We will just have to see if the defense shows up ready to play...
  11. Has anyone watched Iowa this year? Their defense is pretty good, but their offense is pretty bad, and Stanley has turned the ball over a lot from what I've seen.
  12. Interesting nugget - yesterday, Tuioti and Dewitt didn't interview with the media. I'm not sure if that means anything, but they've interviewed each week previously, so I find it interesting.
  13. He's saying that the older guys on the team have had so much turnover on the coaching staff, we need to establish some continuity before we truly pass final judgment on these coaches.
  14. I thought the game Frost called on offense Saturday was an absolute masterpiece. 2nd & 3rd string QBs (1 who is true freshman) and the offense put up over 500 yds of offense with only 3 incompletions! If not for fumbles and penalties (execution), we probably win that game by 3 scores.
  15. You're probably not wrong on that. People need to remember he's still really new at being a head coach, and I'm sure this is the only time in his career as player, assistant coach, or head coach where he's had to deal with losing and bad habits to this extent. The thing i like about him though is he's pretty cognizant of the things that need changed and adjusted in order to get where he wants this program to go. We've got a tremendously talented and bright head coach
  16. Anyone who has ever coached sports should understand that there are a variety of different management styles. Many coaches (Bo) implement top-down leadership and rule with an iron fist. Many times, this can make it difficult for players to rise up as strong leaders as everyone looks to the coach for discipline. Frost, on the other hand, ideally wants a team where strong veteran leaders hold everyone accountable and the coaches can focus on coaching rather than constantly cracking the whip. This method can create leeway for the entire team to slack off a little more like we're seeing this year when there aren't strong veteran leaders. Last year, the team had some strong leaders - Mick Stoltenberg being probably the strongest - which is why the team turned the corner. I think Frost has been waiting for those leaders to emerge again this year, and since no one has, he's having to tighten the screws on the team.
  17. I'd anticipate an upper deck mainly of suites, but who knows if and when that will happen
  18. After hearing Frost answer to questions about Chins today, it sounds like a long shot for staff changes to be made. That defensive staff has turned over so much, it would be nice to have some continuity there finally. Hopefully they can figure it out.
  19. The OL just played their best game this year as a unit. I wouldn't mind seeing Benhart or Piper if they're ready, but i doubt it
  20. It seems that way. Although i wonder if we see a few of those freshmen the last few games.
  21. Wasn't that because he was coming off an injury? I mean, that would suck, but I'm down to roll with Nelson going forward. We will see what we have for the opposite side OLB spot. Hopefully Tannor makes a jump next yr
