  1. Remember that high school coach who got suspended allegedly over praying at midfield but really over just continuously disobeying school district policy? Well he won his supreme court case, has a book and a new career as a public speaker, and resigned after one game because even though he told the court he was anxiously awaiting his ruling so he could go back to Washington and retain his old job, he was obviously lying. The grift is real. https://coachjoekennedy.com/home/ https://www.cnn.com/2023/09/06/us/washington-football-coach-pray-resigns/index.html
  2. "Best" is in comparison to everyone else, who also have plenty of games with fans trickling out at the end of games.
  3. can yall stop making dumb posts and instead start making good posts
  4. The way I see it goes something like this. While Sims has a history of turnovers, it steadily improved in his first three seasons and then through spring and fall camp with an emphasis from the coaches on ball security and a good response by him, they likely felt good about his progress even with an understanding that he'll still be good for the occasional boneheaded bad decision. Then by the time the first game comes around, being thrown into two intense environments on the road, the moment became a little too big for him and resulted in a subsequent shellshock effect. I'd wager money that Sims, the staff, and the entire team all agree that what we've seen as fans is not who they truly believe him to be as a quarterback. Ideally, the team will take the next two weeks to get right and the coaches will set him up well for success mentally and physically, then proceed through the rest of the season in a somewhat similar fashion to 2009; shutting the offense down to ball control, clock bleeding possession football.
  5. The last time there was a writer's strike, one of the unintended consequences was that it indirectly led to The Apprentice getting renewed since they had no scripts to work with, which then led to Trump getting elected. Good thing we learned from that and won't let it hap-- wait, what? Oh s#!t.
  6. Ah yes, the highly accomplished and highly respected athletic director who conducted a thorough and methodical search involving an outside firm that specializes in expertise in analytics in regards to coaching hires is...*checks notes* oh right, in over his head. Of course, checks out. No idiocy detected in that assessment at all. /s
  7. cool thanks for making a thread about it
  8. I'm fine with it only being elected positions, but I'm also fine with it being all federal jobs with different limits. There's little to no need or benefit to the public to have 88 year old HR specialists or DAs or Management Program Analysts or anything else really. I'm not saying every federal job should only be workable for 8 years, only that nobody should be 90 and working these jobs. I'm being a bit facetious but I'd prefer an overcompensation in the direction of uncalcifying (probably not a word) the systems compared to the current reality. That might be when you're actually the most productive because you stop trying to be a politician. Yes, this is another massive one. I also think there should be some firm regulations regarding flipping in and out of private/public sector work where your public work necessitates holding private sector work accountable.
  9. Term limits for every single federal job without exception is a no-brainer to me. Strict regulations around being able to personally benefit from insider information while serving in the federal government is also a no-brainer to me.
  10. In response to your response to JJ Watt, the false start we had on the goal line was a very different type and context of motion.
  11. In such a hypothetical world where you could prove this to win or lose a bet, you'd lose it. Being critical of the state of Israel != being anti semitic. First of all a big 'lol' towards your increasingly wacky anecdotal stories that you seem to lean on heavily for your perception of the world. Second, what does 'they were not peaceful' mean? 100% of the people there weren't peaceful? 1% of the people there weren't peaceful? The leaders weren't peaceful? Random unidentified people on the streets who may or may not have anything to do with the protest weren't peaceful?
  12. Even if viewership does go down, the size of the payouts we've been getting will absolutely go down eventually. It's not sustainable, especially for the B1G where a really good chunk of revenue comes from carrier fees for BTN on cable/satellite providers, who are only going to lose more and more customers.
  13. Not really. We were usually giving a 7-10 yard cushion and they were picking us apart with the quick and short game. Thankfully we didn't allow much of any YAC, and we tightened up/they played more into the strength of our scheme later with longer and slower developing pass plays once they were down, but I think Minnesota's quarterback was 11/15 in the first half.
  14. While there's a speck of legitimacy that the incredibly tiny ultra left crowd has progressed into regressivism, the bigger point here is that just because you weren't aware of racial division 5 years ago doesn't mean it wasn't there.
  15. I wonder how many week one games on CFB over the last 25 years were conference matchups with a top program.
  16. According to this breakdown the routes were right, and the progression should have gone to the hook before the corner, and Sims just failed. https://black41flashreverse.substack.com/p/offensive-recap-2023-minnesota
  17. MLK categorically did not believe in a colorblind society. He dreamt of a utopian colorblind future, and used it as an ideal to frame in contrast to where we are and always have been which demands for color to be seen and taken into account.
  18. Is it the last game of the season? Is it the last game of Rhule's tenure? No? Then no.
  19. He was going extra early, but tackles picking up that outside foot a half second before the ball is snapped is normal and technically allowed as a loophole.
  20. KingBlank is that you? So Tim Beck who is from Bo's hometown, Barney Cotton who was on staff with Bo in '03 and has hardly any P5 experience outside of Nebraska, Ron Brown who was on staff with Bo in '03, Mike Ekeler who was on Bo's previous staff as a GA and had never been a coach before, John Papuchis who was on Bo's previous staff as a GA and had never been a coach before, and Marvin Sanders who was under Bo in '03 and also had barely any P5 experience, weren't Bo's buddies and were the best coaches we could find?
  21. I disagree with you but that's fine. In this case, in terms of him asking for a waiver due to mental health issues, you and I don't know what that entails and if it is or is not something diagnosed as an illness. In terms of how absolutely stupid he was in the events of robbing this vape store and the way in which he did it, all I am saying is that that behavior is a clear sign of not being very healthy mentally, whether it's something clinically defined or just a general lack of good discernment and decision making.
  22. You switched the language from mental health to mental illness. That's a key distinction. My diet is unhealthy but I'm not ill. Brain is the same way. If you've learned poor judgment and habits and perspective on life from your environment, that doesn't necessarily mean you're ill but it absolutely means you can be a lot healthier...mentally
  23. Poor behavior and judgment come from your brain, where your mental faculties are, and if they're 'poor' in quality, with synonyms such as deficient and defective, then... you see where this is going.
