  1. Can’t wait til our team is good and our coaches figure it out. it’ll happen #2021 Iowa St, Ok St, and the Baylor/K-State’s of the world have a run only because of the vacuum Nebraska left behind. We were the only power that kept texass and OU in check. Now we gone and OU will have like 6 conf trophies in a row are we good right now? No. But don’t beg us to return cuz no one will stop the OU/Texass train. We warned ya. I’d rather struggle to gain something than be soft on being given something.
  2. I saw Luke play in high school at Valor for 2+ yrs. as a receiver, kick returner, part-time QB, he always made plays. electric. When I saw him play a full season at QB I liked what I saw, he beat our Creek team for the championship making awesome plays. thing is, he looks exactly like the same player... he’s better, but so is his new competition. Running around making plays all chaotic and scrambling and s#!t just won’t work over a 10 game season or a 65 plays a game. he’s so good at football and a great athlete but he’s not directing, fully, an offense against B1G defenses for 8-12 games a year. he should def touch the ball 10-14 times a game but not 60-70 as a QB.
  3. Frost gets 3 more years after this season. Ive started 2 threads in the last 2 weeks: we are not a good football team and we are getting out coached both fall on Frost...I’m not delusional. somehow, some way he needs to get the talent (and he is getting some decent~good players) on the field and ready to play. however, my big reason with the 3 more years prediction is by next year we will finally have pretty much all his players as rSoph and true juniors. So that just has to mean more wins. By his 5th yr (2022) with a full board of his upperclassmen we’ll see the full results. By 2023 I expect GREAT results. Hopefully, maybe? no one thought it would take 4-5 yrs. But let’s live in reality. It’s not good now and it’s hard to point to progress, but this is our guy and every year that goes by he could get better at coaching and our players could make more plays with experience and age. I think and hope it will happen. my last prediction would sadly be that if Frost is forced out (if he doesn’t improve), the next coach has a real nice cupboard and comes in and can win right away cuz frost laid the foundation. I hope he makes it. What a great story it will be
  4. If I have to explain it to you, you either didn’t watch the game or you don’t really know football
  5. When you give up over 5 plays of 20 or more yards, it’s because they out schemed you. no one breaks the line of scrimmage and has ZERO players within 12 yds of him, that’s a schematic problem. the “fake” punt. That is straight up coaching. I guarantee you, during film in the week the Illinois coaches said “hey look, if you catch the long snap and don’t see anyone pressuring you, just run it.” I promise you that was coaching. look, even if the players “didn’t execute” getting players to execute is on the coaches. im really glad Frost is our coach and I think he gets at least 3 more yrs. I think he can get it done, but right now...a large portion of our problems are coaching problems, specifically getting out schemed. I’m from a family of coaches so I have a little bit of knowledge on some of this
  6. Yeah. Players need to make some plays or not make mistakes. but we are heavily out schemed and look very incompetent on our “adjustments” severely out coached.
  7. At this point, I care less about cases and more about outcomes. the cases of this will go on forever, as far as we know. the outcomes of those cases has changed dramatically. Give me the outcomes of the cases. Of ALL cases, what are the outcome?
  8. I guess what I see is that the only real difference between Luke and Adrian is that Luke has totally infectious energy and positivity that permeates the team. he made some good plays that got us up pretty big. When we stopped moving the ball and scoring he was still balling out and kept the energy up. it sucks for Adrian and all the fans that a guy with all the tools on paper didn’t (or hasn’t yet) reached the potential we thought he would. On the other hand, I’m not sure how high Luke’s ceiling is. He could get better and that would make him a good player, not great. Or he could level off and just be an infectious energy, boom/bust type player. stay with Luke unless he takes a real fast nosedive.
  9. For all our faults and ability to lose/give away games... there is one undeniable fact: Frost is bringing back toughness. for the first time since Suh manhandled people We actually look tough. Damn it feels good to watch players look tough
  10. Crow... yum yum yum. gimmie some more of that I’ll eat all night. Thx Huskers
  11. We seem to fix a lot of other teams’ problems over the last 12 yrs. PSU 31 N 17 we’ll have 3 turnovers 8 penalties give up a special teams TD theyll sack us at least 4 times rush yds for us 179, 238 for them until we fix our mistakes it’ll be more of the same. My buddy is a huge PSU fan (played lacrosse there) and he thinks they stink real bad. I said, “we give games away and even when we have a chance we don’t make it happen.” I just don’t think we’re a very good football team, there are bright spots but as a whole team, not there yet. hey Huskers, I love crow so serve me a huge platter.
  12. “The good thing happening then a spark to inferno” can happen when all 3 phases make something happen a few series in a row. The whole team can feel it at that point. but when the D plays “well enough to win” but the offense can’t score or no big plays/field flip on ST don’t, then it’s harder. Or any combo of that. once a team makes plays together, individuals really feel free to play without failure, knowing the other facets have their back. Let’s some damn team play this week
  13. In the prediction NW thread I had us up by like 125 yds or something and 15-16 more min of possession. Was wrong on TOP, but we were up overall. I just knew we couldn’t find the end zone cuz we don’t find it. I thought we would give more turnovers but they gifted us a couple. And we them. But overall our TO’s hurt is more. it’s really easy to predict our performance because we’ve been that way for far too long. chaz says play the guy that finishes drives at QB, but we never finish drives. Haven’t for awhile. We have a nice script that gets us going but then BAM the rest of the game happens. We’re just not that good until we get talent on the field. Do we have that talent (that seems to be the talk de jour)? If we do but not ready, okay fine. Next year, as this whole year is f#&%ed for everyone in society, better see some damn results.
  14. Frost. Then and now. All the points above. wiuld just like to see the uptempo, nuts on the pavement, all out s#!t we thought we were getting. And now we have a gigantic O-like we could pound people too. But damn, we gotta see it. Just let it fly.
  15. Because of lockdown I can proudly say I watched every game that was possible on YouTube from 1991-2001. Also watched multiple games from 2002-2012, and watched a few of old ones from 70-80s. Starting in like 1983 or so TO ran mostly I-formation. Then he went 4 wide a lot, double wing, motion to trips, twins a crap ton to the wide side, etc etc (Around 92-93ish)...over and over the announcers would comment that “the difficultly in prepping for Nebraska is that they run their power game so well. But also throw in multiple formations and sets and actually spread teams out a lot.” Good base, multiple formations, similar plays but spread out vs the base I-form. basically, don’t forget when TO hit his stride 91-97 he had his base power plays and formations but ran 6-8 other formations that built mismatches and scheme problems for opponents. But there was a core, a system of plays from every formation. Then expanded from there. Also, he was a f#&%ing master play caller. Maybe the best ever? return to a “triple option, 4 formation set?” Hell no!! (Which is mostly what TO had from 82-90). Frost needs to have a base that works and build multiple layers on top of that. For instance...where the f#&% is the uptempo, snap it every 27 seconds base? Or the quick draw, sprint option, make a read on the DE/OLB quick hit RPO base (once they have dime in) to a lead power from formation to motion power base? What is the BASE and contiguous levels built on them? we are on our heels instead of putting defenses on theirs IMHO. What is our PRESS? Whether Power or Tempo. Muscle or Speed. What do we DO that is the best and build layers on that? I don’t know the answer, I just know we don’t have a base and don’t seem to have layers built on it.
  16. I get what you’re saying to a degree.. but the “hang your head” thing is kind of for like 4th-8th graders. these are highly recruited players who have been in football for 12+ yrs at this point. I don’t see total body language problems at all. That would be worse, because that leads to a lack of care or effort. Body language is good. if a coach stood up in a team huddle and hollered “don’t hang your heads” in order to solve problems, that would be a bad look. most of these players can make plays, but we don’t have a s#!t ton of skill. Coaches have not put them in great positions to make plays on a consistent basis. That IS the problem—good but not great skill, fair to mediocre coaching. Hanging heads isn’t a problem.
  17. So I wasn’t too far off.
  18. I disagree. Talent takes a 3 yd hitch and turns it into 10. a RB breaks a tackle and gets 4-8. Our scheme isn’t good and our players don’t make plays. we look like a script, ‘run this then that’...when it doesn’t work, we are 3 n out or just scrambling around.
  19. No. No more delusion. “Hey Omar is playing, we are gonna be good now!!” that’s foolish. we don’t have talent or good coaching. talent, at times, can supersede coaching or refs, or game situations. Talent just makes plays, creates opportunities, and gets s#!t done despite coaching or whatever. we don’t have talent or coaching. tell me a sequence during the game today where we had superior talent or some decent coaching to take over the game? We had no sequence, no rhythm, no set-up, no ballers, no break opens, no rush, no physical presence, no identity, no creation. We showed ZERO today. Who flashed? How were we in it? What are our threats? How is our scheme? we aren’t a good team and we don’t have any REAL good players. I can accept that. I’m good with that. I’m better off just watching the game, drinkin a beer, hanging out knowing we aren’t that good and being cool w that then thinking we might be a good team and having expectations.
  20. We’ve had flashes here and there since 2002, but the reality is, we don’t have a good cohesive team and we don’t have very good individual talent. I’m not here just complaining, I’m really just saying that in our 3rd regime in 6 yrs or so, we aren’t good. Not together as a team and no real individual good players or stars it is what it is. Still my team and I’m still a fan, but I have zero expectations of victory or competitive glory
  21. We will go up by 17 points in the 1st half. they will kick a FG with under a minute remaining in the 1st half, swinging momentum. they get the ball to start the 2nd half and score a quick TD, closing the gap to 7. we will have a sustained drive after that only to stall at their 30 yd line with several penalties and a wasted timeout that push us back to the 47 yd line. we punt. They go 97 yds in 14 plays and 8:08 off the clock. Aided by 2 questionable PI calls on 3rd and 17 or more during the drive. we counter their long TD drive with a fumbled snap, a false start and a blown screen pass into the boundary for a nice 00:52 drive and 3 n out. they score a TD, after a nice punt return to our 48 yd line, on a scramble to the right by their QB under pressure, finding a wide open WR in the back of the end zone. Subsequently, we trade punts and field position for approx 8 more minutes. We try and throw together a late drive to win, thwarted by a dropped pass and a holding penalty after gaining enough yds for a first down. we play to go into overtime but their QB completes a pass on 3rd and 12 over the middle and the WR runs to our 42 yd line. A draw, a quick out and a kill snap lines them up for a 41 yd field goal which they make for the Win. tell me I’m wrong. yds gained: N: 468 NW: 323 turnovers: N: 3 NW: 0 penalties: N: 9-109 NW: 3-25 3rd down con N: 3-14 NW: 6-11 TOP N 38:11 NW: 21:49 this is how I feel every game we play goes, especially if we “should” win.
  22. Long story shortened. good luck staying home and having stuff canceled
  23. ^^ so much the above Cases < outcomes 0-19 yrs old 99.987% recovery of ALL cases (including Co-morbidities) 20-49 yrs old 99.89% recovery of ALL cases (Including CM’s) at 55+ there is more risk, but still not crazy numbers if otherwise healthy. If you’re that age or have underlying, protect yourself. And I’ll do my part to protect you too, but I’m done staying home and canceling everything. YOU stay home if you don’t feel safe. And no, I’m going to any concerts or packed arenas, but we can do stuff in measured terms. (CDC) my son had Hodgkin Lymphoma and nearly died of sepsis and multiple other illnesses over a 2 yr span during his treatment. So I know illness. I’m not an idiot when it comes to health. I get it. However... No one shut down the whole of society, economies, businesses, schools, theaters, arts, music, comedy, bars, restaurants, and college football because 600,000 people die of cancer every year. EVERY YEAR, just from cancer. My son survived and the whole of life went on during that time, albeit painful for us, difficult to manage...but that was actually a motivation; that life could go on. when the B10 decided to play games, my son’s first reaction was “can we go to a game”...no son, they’ll cancel them. And they are canceling. f#&% you B10, and those in power or who want power. You’re robbing people of their lives, even lives doing everything they can according to “rules” to protect themselves “and others”. Saban got it, coached the same week. Lawrence has it, will play next week, my sister in law got it 2 weeks ago, cooking dinner tonight, and she was sick as f#&%. I know people that got it and died and I know people that got it and didn’t even know. There is risk in life, but life goes on. This has gone too far. And I’m not talking football necessarily, (but now I’m pissed). I voted ‘no’ on a season cuz I knew it would be political. I’m talking about the overall destruction of having adversity and risk in everyday life measured against human performance to move on and grow. We have stunted a generation, and there is no end in sight. f#&% you B1G
