@Enhance, who's to say what Dantonio could do with the resources and self-sustaining nature of an OSU or Bama? He's better at MSU than Saban was. He was better than Saban was at MSU within the same time frame as well.

@Landlord that 3-9 season is an abysmal black eye. They had a lot of issues out of his control but that still can't and shouldn't happen if you're in consideration as 'the best coach in the country.' Plus, I think Saban and Meyer are unequivocally the best coaches even if they have a lot of advantages at the schools they coach. They earned those privileges.

I think Dantonio is a great coach, perhaps even Top 10, putting him among 'the best.' But actually considering him the 'best?' That's a stretch for me.

He is outstanding no doubt, especially considering he's resources and in state competition with UM. Maybe some of the conference might have been down, but MSU still did well with games outside of the conference, last 6 bowl games he's 5-1.
