  1. victory haines is a waste of a scholarship, Nicks is a beast and a great pass blocker, his run-blocking skills definitely need some work, he really doesn't fit the mold of a zone run blocker. agree, Haines is a waste.
  2. After re-reading my original post, I realize that it sounds overly harsh. I didn't mean to say that Bo's doing a bad job. The point I was trying to make is that recruiting this year doesn't matter much in the scheme of things. Whatever good players he can get are icing on the cake. The 2009 class will be the one that will help us see what kind of recruited HCBP really is ( and I think he'll do great, by the way). I think we'll be able to tell whether he's truly bringing in guys who will give everything for the Huskers, or just other programs leftovers.
  3. 1997 Nebraska Cornhuskers - 19 1997 Tennessee Volunteers - 54 If that doesn't show how meaningless this thing is, nothing does.
  4. well so far HCBP's recruiting has been less than stellar. Horrible, in fact. Losing commits to sCUm makes me sick to my stomach. That being said, when a program changes coaches, recruiting almost always suffers that first year. I just hope he can get some decent athletes who are hard workers. The true test will be the recruiting class next year. If he can bring in a top 25 class I think we'll be in good shape for the future. Of course, to get a decent class next year, the performance on the field will have to be vastly improved. You've got your work cut out for you Bo.
  5. ZOMG!!!!!!!!1!! All Black would be teh bomb Please no more about the black. Nebraska is scarlet and cream. We don't need to be another TTech or Louisville or any of a bunch of lesser programs that feel they need to use black to fire things up.
  6. in the video it looked like he exploded to the ball well, and fought off blocks with some tenacity. His tackling could use a little work, but his athleticism looked promising. He would be a great get to replace the guys who have been decommitting.
  7. Sounds like a pretty good athlete...and if he's mean enough to be recruited to play safety in the SEC, he would do just fine at Nebraska.
  8. At the risk of being labeled a Cally-lover, there is really no evidence to back this up. There could be and probably is a ton of different reasons for all the decommits. You claim that ol' Billy sold them a bill of goods, but it easily could be that when Bo met with these guys, they didn't have faith in him as HC. I'm sure sCUm, UT, etc are using our horrible season and worst D in the country as leverage against coming to DONU. Now, ultimately it is BC's fault, as these guys expected to come play for him in an improving program. But his fault is not getting it done on the field, not what he did or didn't say in the living room. And even if we lose out on a ton of guys this year, I think we can all agree that the program is in better hands.
  9. Lot of new guys listed on D...which is probably a good thing.
  10. As far as the TV question goes, I think it would make a great Thursday night matchup.
  11. That is a great point. He is out of our league for a couple years, or until we've had a top-5 season or two.
  12. Seems like this kid has a great committment to the weight room; you don't bench 300 in H.S. by training half-ass. He has some serious potential, he could probably get his weight up to 240-250 by his second year.
  13. to me, that says more than anything..... this kid HAS to be a solid prospect. If Bo can reel in a kid like this that is so highly sought after, he gets instant credibility as a good recruiter.
  14. Interesting...I think it will be tough for him to be successful there, as there are several more desirable schools for kids in the SEC. I bet he lasts 3 years and moves somewhere else.
  15. I think he stays. I just don't see him being a first-day pick this year, with all the good backs coming out. Plus, the running game will be emphasized next year, and with all he can do receiving, he would get tons of touches.
  16. I think Mo's comments reflect an ignorance of what Nebraska football is all about, which is definitely the fault of Cally and Pedey. "Not the victory but the action, Not the goal but the game, in the deed the glory". When it is evident on the field that there is a lack of intensity (and Mo you're not exempt...you alligator-armed a few passes), the fans are going to voice their displeasure.
  17. Awesome to hear that he's visiting Lincoln. His shiftiness and acceleration were unbelievable. I would love to see him catching passes out of the backfield!
  18. He looks a ton better than that kid from Iowa. His arm looks fantastic, and I loved how tough he ran, not afraid to take on linebackers and safeties.
  19. This team needs a senior leader like Wistrom or the Peter brothers to keep the underage kids off the alcohol. It just leads to problems.
  20. I think you're right. In order for the Huskers to do anything next year, they have to be able to run between the tackles. If they can be successful up the middle, that will open up everything else ("that's what she said"). I think the D will be better as there is some good young talent there.
  21. how many QBs do we take in the 2009 class? I know it depends on who we get in 2008, but definitely not more than 2. And we will probably need one of them to be a stud, able to run a bit as well as throw. Is this BW kid going to cut it?
