    Does anyone know where you can find morrell mushrooms around the Omaha area?  When I was a kid we would go mushroom hunting all the time in the Spring. They are delicious when deep fried and served with homemade onion rings made from Vidallia onions.

      We used to go into Kansas to find ours when I was a kid, the great grandparents lived over near St. Jo and we found them all over there in that little co-op town.  Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure of a deep fried morrell in many many years nor hunted for them in the same amount of time.

      HuskerInLostWages-I grew up near St. Jo in Missouri.  We never had trouble finding them. We would go to friends who had woodland property. 

      My Dad eventually moved to a forest area but the deer ate the mushrooms before he could get to them. Great memories. Once you’ve eaten them you never forget it!
