Alfonzo Dennard found guilty of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. Faces up to six years in prison. All because he lost his mind for 30 seconds one night.
So Daunte Stallworth kills a man while he is operating a vehicle while he was drunk and high on illegal drugs, does 30 days in prison. Fonzie punches a guy, gets 6 years. Both are absolutely crimes, but tell me that the punishment fits the crime here.
Fonzie hasn't been sentenced yet. Nobody expects him to get six years, not even close. The judge could impose probation only - although a short prison sentence is likely.
I'm sure his sentencing will be fine. That I won't have a problem with but a felony isn't something that you can just brush under the rug. If something happens to him and he doesn't finish out his football career life afterwards could be rough.
