  1. I figured I was at least as smart as Frost. Thanks for the confirmation. Agree with the comments. Theres a fragility within the program that I struggle to identify from watching the games. This has seemingly been in place since the Bo regime. Is it over-rated talent, wrong fit for the talent, staff continuity, or...? My best guess is the talent is over-rated.
  2. Regardless of the QB discussion, to me this highlights the continued inability of this team to overcome even a single mistake. Seems often one false start or a hold kills drives. Can't win with that little margin for error.
  3. I don't either, but frankly I appreciate it. Relevance! I absolutely believe our fans, state, and school do care more about football (and sports in general) than many in this conference. We're much more like a top SEC school in this regard, and I embrace it.
  4. My hope is that if there are schools that don't want to play for whatever their reasons, they don't feel they need to continue to prevent other schools from playing.
  5. My thought too. Yes, a game or few could be cancelled or postponed. However, season cancellation was only indirectly about safety; its mostly about financial liability. At this point, I'll always believe its political if the decision isn't reversed. Not necessarily along political party lines, but more along the lines of an attitude of arrogance that "we made a decision, we're the bosses, and tough s#!t if people don't like it" and "sports (neanderthal football especially) is further down our collective list of priorities".
  6. Cancelling may turn out to be the correct move, but that doesn't necessarily mean the B1Gs decision wasn't premature and perhaps somewhat misguided.
  7. All any of this proves is that it "means more" in the SEC, at Ohio St, and at Nebraska.
  8. So how many Red v White games can they get in this fall?
  9. LOL Agree. My point went over your head. The original comparison is ironic since he is quite literally the great college player that has "hung around town" (and visited a bar or two).
  10. He was actually a pretty darn good college player too.
  11. What if C A T really spelled "dog"?
  12. What the heck play call was 3rd down? I give em credit for the fake punt, but better 3rd down play call maybe didn't have to be in that position.
  13. Would love to know what the heck the game plan was supposed to be. Oline and Dline are garbage.
  14. I heard that and actually LOL'd....said every girlfriend in America, except mine of course.
  15. I'm kind of in both camps. I doubt many wins this year will look impressive either by final score or opponent, but I'll gladly take said wins. Bowl game would be great.
  16. Wouldn't the Illinois game 2 weeks ago qualify as a close game?
  17. Thanks, knapp. Cleaner than I thought.
  18. Scared to ask, but what or who is Lexi and Dak?
  19. The difference is in the letter of the rule versus the spirit of the rule. The rule wasn't intended to allow a player to purposefully run out of bounds to simply reach into the field of play to touch an in-bound kickoff to solicit a penalty on the kicker. Thats the "loophole" that player smartly exploited.
  20. Thats the flaw in the rule. Its one thing to catch a ball and land out of bounds. Its a different scenario when the ball is in bounds, on the ground, not moving. If it were a punt or a fumble the rule wouldn't apply. Its got nothing to do with it not working out in NU's favor.
  21. There absolutely should be an exception to the rule when the ball is laying dead in the field of play before anyone touches it (for instance, if a ball was established as in-bounds before an out-of-bounds player touches it, the ball is dead at that point the out-of-bounds player touches it).
