  1. His title was Director of Player Personnel, which is now Sean Dillon's title. Ryan Callaghan is Associate Director of Player Personnel.
  2. “I feel like I have been committed to Nebraska for 13 years,” Shefke said. “I signed the dotted line to become a player at Nebraska when I was 5 years old after going to my first game. It truly is a dream come true.” http://www.omaha.com/neprepzone/recruiting/football/recruiting-collin-shefke-and-wyatt-liewer-accept-preferred-walk-on/article_ffbd748e-e089-11e7-b2ed-2f70b18d86bc.html
  3. Guessing you meant McBride? I don't think Milt's doing too many podcasts these days.
  4. "The new Nebraska coaching staff came by to see me," said Parsons. "Once I had heard the old coaches had been let go, I was no longer interested in Nebraska. They're still one of my top schools but it's too late to be able to build relationships with a new staff. There just isn't enough time. https://n.rivals.com/news/two-final-official-visits-for-5-star-micah-parsons-before-dec-20-decision
  5. I can't see him getting any real NFL interest after a season with so many INTs (even if it did get better as the season went on). Grad transfer is probably his best option.
  6. ^ Cobcast in question: https://player.fm/series/the-big-red-cobcast-1795836/186-charlie-mcbride-talks-to-us-about-scott-frost-and-mike-riley
  7. Good point on the extra position. Dewitt is listed as OLB, so I assume there has to be an ILB coach as well (unless DC handles that), but it seemed a little weird. EDIT: "Look for former Husker All-American and All-Big 12 linebacker Barrett Ruud to become the Huskers' 10th assistant in January, when NCAA teams are allowed to add an extra assistant to the staff." http://www.omaha.com/huskers/football/nu-head-coach-scott-frost-announces-hiring-of-seven-assistants/article_7687caf0-d91a-11e7-801e-5fa98eb8f5fc.html
  8. I notice there's no position listed for Ruud, on either the tweet or the Huskers.com page. Are they still deciding on that one, or is it because he'll be in a non-coaching assistant position?
  9. Sr and Frost were teammates in the NFL, if you didn't know. “Scott Frost is my boy,” Keyshawn Johnson said. “I don’t think people even understand — I played with Frosty. I know Frosty. We know each other. This is not — I didn’t know Bo Pelini. I had no relationship with Bo Pelini whatsoever, at all, period. But I know Scott Frost. I have a relationship with Scott Frost, OK? That’s what it is." “My son is going back to Lincoln, Nebraska, as of now, in the month of January, and [will] be playing with the football team and all of his friends.” https://www.landof10.com/nebraska/nebraska-football-cornhuskers-scott-frost-keyshawn-johnson-transfer
  10. Ehh, I wouldn't go quite that far. From what he's said, he chose UCLA because he felt it was the best fit for him, even though schools like Florida and Tennessee were after him, too. Florida in particular, with their respective situations, he probably could've taken that job a month or more ago, if he wanted it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2017/11/27/chip-kelly-says-he-chose-ucla-because-all-opportunities-best-fit/899963001/
  11. Or avoid the tourist places and go someplace better.
  12. Remember that we're not in the Big 12 anymore, and the Big Ten does allow partial qualifiers. This past cycle, we wanted Elijah Blade to take it, but he decided not to.
  13. There's several CCs in Kansas we could tap into. @dudeguyy mentioned the guys Pelini got from Fort Scott, Will Honas above plays for Butler CC (Zac Taylor came through there, too), and Garden City has some good ones, too. And chancellor.
  14. He was in the group that Green & Bounds met with to discuss what they should look for when hiring a new AD. That's one reason I feel better about the higher-ups in charge now than I did when Perlman was here.
  15. Most hires won't be this blindingly obvious. We'll see how he does when he has to hire, say, a basketball coach (though they're off to a decent enough start this year).
  16. Yeah, so far Moos seems really great, and has been doing things the right way, but let's be real: the decision of who to hire was practically made for him. I mean, can you imagine the lynch mob that would've formed if he hadn't hired Frost?

    Baby Boom

^ We haven't heard the name of Scott's baby yet. It's gonna be Tom Bob Frost!
  18. So I take it that means Billy Devaney is officially out? That was his title.
