  1. They've done well enough that they are in a dang BCS title game every year in a top 3 conference.... I would give my left nut to see NEB competing like that again........ Oregon has done well in their conference. Recently. They played in the BCS title game once recently and did not win it. Oregon is a good program with not much history that has used their marketing dollars very well. I applaud them. I'm still a Husker. Oregon has played in 4 straight BCS games. DONU hasn't played in one since 2001 and it's the only one they've played in. Like it or not, Oregon is miles ahead of Nebraska. Miles. And we sound like the Notre Dame fans we used to make fun of. The fans that talked about tradition that hadn't produced anything in 20 years. We're becoming those guys.
  2. Was the internet even invented when he was coaching? Was the internet even invented when he was coaching? Uh. Yes. Every program has fans who bitch after losses. To think these boards sway recruits' minds sounds self important. Even if these boards did sway the feelings of recruits, the boards would still rank below things like coaches, location, education, chance of winning titles, TV appearances, etc. Somebody tweet to KB that winning cures all ills.
  3. I remember talk of an easy schedule and an unstoppable offense making a National Championship run. Now we're sweating to get bowl eligible. My how things have changed over a few short months.
  4. I'd like to ask the coach why that blueprint still works 10 months later.
  5. Why do you love him? What has he done for us? Not being a jerk, its an honest question and I'm curious. In my opinion I can't wait for him to graduate. He's the ultimate underdog. All he has is straight away speed. He has a terrible arm. He can't juke. He's not quick. He's not strong enough to break any tackles. He is incredibly limited at QB. So what has he done with his limitations? Turned them into a record setting QB at UNL. It takes a lot of heart to do that. Couple that with tons of hate from the fan base and it's hard not to root for the guy. Plus he dated the volleyball coach's daughter and she is H-O-T. You may want him to graduate and that's cool. But you can't blame him for the defense. He's not giving up 600 yards of O. He's not the one who gave up 8 yards per play on first down today.
  6. Works at Oregon. Helfrich just turned 40. Aliotti coached Moses.
  7. If he can't run, he's incredibly limited as a QB. I love Taylor. Always have, but he can only hurt the team until he is fully healthy.
  8. Which is why out offensive play calling and reliance on Martinez was so baffling. I don't think too many really believed we suddenly had a shutdown defense. If the coaching staff believed that, well, come to your own conclusion there. Agreed. This game was a head scratcher from the get go.
  9. Martinez wasn't healthy and should not have played, but that doesn't explain the D's giving up 9 yards a play on first down. This D is terrible and many of us got sucked in because they played okay against terrible competition. Any team with a decent offense is going to put big yards and point on the board against us. And that is on the Defensive Guru himself.
  10. I'm leaning towards Frost, but need to hear how he feels about bringing in seasoned and successful coordinators.
  11. Oregon State always starts off slow. This year is no exception. In their defense, their SOS is better than DONU's.
  12. 9 AM for me. Once a year is okay. More than that and I'm murderous.
  13. Bye weeks are crap. Not as bad as my dog getting shot, but I feel almost as empty
  14. I voted for Frost. He was both Ferrari and bulldozer. He easily ran away from guys or through them. He seemed to enjoy both. I also marveled at his no-look pitches.
  15. Aren't there a few examples out there of Coach Ozzy hosing some teams in his polls? Colorado only getting a share of the national title comes to mind. I think there are a few other examples as well.
  16. Buy tickets. Obtain car. ??? Profit! Tickets are hard to come by even for the bad games at Autzen.
  17. Autzen is an hour from my house. Must find a way to go to this game.
  18. I couldn't disagree more. Had the Pac 10 allowed Texas to keep the Longhorn Network, UT, OU and the rest are now part of the Pac 16. Those schools and the Pac 10 had very serious discussions. Texas wanted to air all of their league games on the Longhorn Network and keep every penny. Naturally the rest of the member schools weren't going to go with that.
  19. No TV exposure? Every game is on TV. Half filled stadium? It seats over 90,000 this year. It pains me to say this, but I think you're an ignorant fan.
  20. Are you saying Bo didn't bring the fun back today
  21. Let's not forget that was a FCS defense. That said, it was nice to see a ball thrown with good form instead of shot putted. Yes but a hurt qb doesn't work in our system. Time to quit playing Tmart hurt. I'll reserve judgment until I see our backup QBs against better competition. They did look good today though.
