  1. Umm.....NO!!!!!!!! Looks like those horrible xmas NBA jerseys. Puke!! I like them. Not to crazy, but a modern form. I like these better than the jerseys worn against UCLA, moderate black but focus on red.
  2. I understand why kids shouldn't call eachother stupid: growing bodies, growing minds, adjusting to the world, etc. But there comes a time when we are what we are as adults. So, shouldn't it be perfectly acceptable to call another adult "stupid" when in fact they are just "stupid"?

There are NO stupid questions. Just stupid people that ask questions. However, you can't call them stupid.

  3. I don't expect you to give a f#*k, but I do. These are people that I highly respect. People I've watched games with for years. People that used to hold Nebraska in high regard. Just like our parents and grandparents thought of Oklahoma. (at least mine anyway) These aren't 25 year old kids that cuss Nebraska's name, they're adults that enjoy college football and the traditions and history that has been built between our programs. Not long ago there was little negative to say about Nebraska. Sure, a bad hire, some down years - but that happens everywhere. It's different this time around. I don't expect many to understand. You guys get to live inside the bubble. Must be nice I'm sure you at least tried to point out some positives about your favorite team as your friends were bashing it, right? Or maybe you have nothing to like about the Huskers? I live in Omaha, and spend most of my conversations with other Husker fans. I think some of them hate Pelini more than Mizzou or K-State fans. Sometimes I wished I lived "outside" the bubble....
  4. HE'S NOT?! No, he isn't. That is the reason I started this thread, I obviously wasn't clear. I didn't start the thread because he called the Huskers stuck on "not good enough", or that he compared them to the Cowboys. I also had higher hopes for this season and agree that it was a wasted opportunity for many reasons: coaches, injuries, players, etc... However, Dirk says Bo is coaching for his 6th straight 9 win season, that is a flat out misrepresentation of the facts. Bo Pelini has had more 10 win seasons in his first 5 years as a coach than 9 win seasons. He has coached in championship games in half of his seasons here. Dirk CAN write whatever he wants, it's just sad that he chooses to. So, in your mind, "misrepresenting facts" means using correct statistics but omitting other correct ones? What do you want the guy to do, mention that Bo has only won one career game in red jerseys on grass in every article just for clarity? NUpolo has been dead-on this entire thread. If you don't like the content of Dirk's articles then you probably are just too afraid to admit where the problem really is. He didn't "omit" anything. He purposely "used" falsehoods. In the third paragraph he wrote "[Pelini] is coaching for a sixth straight 9 win, 4 loss season". That is factually incorrect. Nupolo has also repeatedly missed that point...

  6. ^^^^ and he isn't even using correct stats....
  7. Oh my, I agree about the comparison to the Cowboys. It made some sense to me as I'm a fan of both teams. What got me, is Dirk flat out misrepresented the Huskers' record over the past 5/6 years to make a point. He "made sh*t up"! I could care less about the article, or Dirk. But it pisses me off when people, especially sportswriters, make the program seem even worse than it really is. The program has enough issues, let alone made up perceptions... In the last 5 years, Pelini has more 10 win seasons than 9. We remember that, right?
  8. Technically speaking, if you won ten games you also won 9. More about him pointing out the 4 losses than anything. But yeah his cred was pretty much shot before so him being a tool isnt surprising. soooo....since they won 9 they also won 5???? Six straight 5 win seasons... Well sh&t, Bo ain't been bowl eligible yet. CAN HIS A$$
  9. I agree, lo country. But, the fact that Dirk publicly removes wins from Bo's (and the Husker's) record, shows his stance. Some schools have wins removed for cheating, NU has wins removed because of sour grapes...
  10. In his third paragraph, he writes "[Pelini's] 6th straight 9 win 4 loss season." (edit: does no one else see the error in this? or did I miss the NCAA take away 3 of his wins?) Does his factual error lower his credibility yet.
  11. I'd back off my expectations in the face of multiple, serious injuries. Sure we can expect to lose a guy or two over the course of a season. But it's just unreasonably bad luck to lose our starting QB, backup QB (for a couple games), and 80% of our O-line. It would be silly to think we'd not drop off some after this level of injury. OTOH, if we have those same kinds of injuries next year (heaven forbid), then we need to ask some serious questions about or strength and condition program. Just curious, I know our S&C may have areas that need improvement (we all do), the entire team does. But honestly, I might be naïve, how does that change this year's injuries? Should the S&C coaches have put a bionic foot on Martinez? Possibly replace the OL's MCL's with bungee cords? Maybe if they wouldn't have made Turner's quads so dam strong he wouldn't have pulled his hami? I don't get it.... and if you tell me "proper stretching", I will slap you silly....
  12. Time to get on with my day, but this picture sums it up.....
  13. I was going to look up all the shows that A&E broadcasts. I assumed there were a lot of shows aimed towards people who might not tend to agree with Robertson's opinion. So I thought, just maybe, that A&E was looking out for their own good and not alienating the "crowds" that watch the network's other shows. What I found was: A&E sucks......
  14. Hardly the vitriolic, ignorant racist speech it has been painted as in this thread. I believe it was Jon Stewart who said something along the lines of, "Of course they weren't singing the blues! They were in the process of being created...."
  15. Context. Nebraska outscores their opponents in the 2nd half on average (that's what these rankings are based on). That is a fact. That fact is in the same article that this lame argument was posed in LITR on journalstar.com. Nebraska beat NW in the fourth, they beat UM on the last drive, they beat Penn St in OT, they blew out SDSU in the 2nd half, I'm so tired of this lame argument. Complain about Bo's "personality", complain about the "fake punt", complain about the "tape", etc. But the fact that "Bo haters" are starting to grasp at straws is really getting f'ing pathetic. Maybe we should check Bo's birth certificate..... 4th quarter scoring, offensive or defensive, is a dumb ranking. Sorry. There are too many game situations, and limited number of points to make this an important statistic. If a team has a lead, they sit on the ball; maybe taking a knee inside the five yardline. If a team is far behind and the other team gives up (see NU vs. WYO) it will affect the ranking. I would be more than willing to split a 12-pack and break down the 4th quarter situations of all of those seasons, but my guess is NU will still have just as many wins, and just as many losses...(which btw, is better than most other teams) I'm a "hater" and "grasping for straws" when the crux of your argument points to a OT win over a scholarship decimated PSU, an extremely down Michigan team, a winless in conference Northwestern where Nebraska needed an outright miracle to win, and a FCS team where the defense gave up more yards to their running back than Barry Sanders ran for in his Heisman year. Okay. You posed the rankings as if they meant something. My comment about "haters" referred to the rankings you posted, nothing more. In my post, I acknowledged there are reasons to not like Bo as a coach. Some reasons may include struggling against NW, PSU, and Michigan. That is a legitimate argument, much more so than these stats that don't tell us anything....and you obviously "hate" the idea of Bo as the head coach of Nebraska. Guess you don't want to split that 12-pack, huh?

  17. And your comment added what? At least we can both agree that UGA's music is good............. There's a different threshold of quality for making a new topic on a forum and making a reply to a topic. Says the person that starts a thread "Food for thought" and starts it by saying "I'm getting hungry"
  18. how in the hell do I post a pic????? (Tomlin & Sumlin, both in visors, both with headsets, both not white, only Texas playing catch up.)
  19. every 7 year old on my kid's soccer team got one of those too........nice How in the hell does a 7 year old have 10 seasons under his belt????!!!!! .....idiot
  20. Maybe that would not be the case if Pelini wouldn't have told the fans to take a hike in his famous f-bomb rant. facepalm, facepalm, facepalm, fcplm alsdf. aldfe. I don't have the time to write that many facepalms. People like you are just plain dumb. That is an attack on people like you, not you....
  21. It's discussion man...part of what a forum is all about. I'm curious to know how long the supporters of Bo will continue supporting him if we do not win a championship. It's pretty black and white. You can argue that everything we talk about on here, whether its the coaching staff, Taylor Martinez, the defense, etc...is pointless as nobody inside the Husker program is going to read it or do anything posted on here. Throwing out random numbers doesn't make a discussion. 2.71828 ...... is it working yet? My kids are 4, so I say 4 more years. But next year they'll be 5, so five more next year. So I guess that makes 9???? On their 6th birthday I'll go for 15 more years. Can you see the pattern? How many more years will I give Bo on my kids' 10th birthday? This question is worth 15 points.
  22. Yes, I watched probably 6 LSU games this year and he played well above half the snaps in each game. Generally only came off the field in 3rd & short and goal line situations - and of course normal rest. He never made a tremendous impact on the game from the games I saw but he was in there at least! So, basically doing exactly what he'd be doing here. Use the TEs crying outloud!! Wasn't he a DE? and NU wound up with Gregory instead? I'll take that deal every year!
  23. I want Missouri to get railroaded tomorrow for the same reason I root for the failure of Kansas, K State, Iowa, Iowa State and any other school within 5 hours of Lincoln: RECRUITING. I want Nebraska to be the only show in our area. And I want the best of the best of the Midwest to have an eye on Lincoln nowhere else. I'm well aware of the concerns about Nebraska, but the success of other teams in the region only magnify them...
  24. "Marf Posted Today, 05:20 PM Hedley Lamarr " +1 I was going to say the same thing. It is an intricate plan to fill the message boards with junk to trick the fans into hating the "haters".... Pelini: Hedley Paps: WAHhusker Beck: ElbowBursitis other coaches involved?????
