      Well if you're like me and your skull has dips or dents, you want to kind of glide/hover over them, and not really touch them. Similar to a fade. That way your hair looks uniform, and not like it's missing a chunk. I've had barber mess it up if I didn't tell them. Mine just happen to be right about where it fades when it's short.

      Hard to explain, but I hope you can figure out what I mean. Cutting hair is kind of like sculpting I guess, but you gotta wait a few weeks to fix your mistakes.
