I was starting around 10 and mowing consistently at 12 when my brother graduated and moved out. Also, learned my lesson to not let the lawn grow too high when my dad jumped all over me for not getting my chores done when asked. A 20 minute job turned into a 2hr job because he made me mow through rain and bag it. I learned my lesson and now maintaining my lawn is one of my favorite hobbies. 

I want to say I was around 12.  To say that I was overjoyed when we finally got a self propelled lawn mower would be a gross understatement.

@Xmas32 haha I believe it. My dad held out until I moved to college before getting a self propelled.
