How do the season tickets for students work now? You line up, get a wrist band and then you get to go in? Or do you just line up and then when the gates open you get to go in?

It changes them... About 14 or 15 years ago when I grabbed by first coaching gig...the school I was at had a running back that was a super star. I don't mean he was good. I mean this kid nationally ranked (no Rivals stuff back at that time, I think the big one was Max Preps or maybe super max, I can't remember for sure, there was one other and then the USA today did a little bit too) Well...Kid went home before his junior year to visit his Dad in florida...his dad was a drug dealer. Kid never made it back for his junior year (this is not an injury but he was still not going to be playing for us) Never heard anything about the kid again, he probably started dealing or is dead. No clue. But I can tell you that the coaching staffs expectations changed when he did not show back up for school. We were going to win a state championship that year with ease. He was going to rush for 10 yards a carry, with ease. Instead we lost in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs, like 22-14 or something like that.

I have known coaches that have physical non-stop hitting, all practice, every practice and even in pre-game. Some do great and some suck I have known coaches that do almost zero hitting all year. Some do great and some suck. There is no secret formula that works for every team, player and coach.

Tenn is making a HUGE push...They lost out on Jawuan Evans (Stud and some people have him as the best PG in the country) so they are really pushing for Watson. I do think Watson wants to play in the Big Ten but that is just a guess. If he waits until May to commit his offer list will grow. His HS team is pretty darn good.

I was just watching a show and the dudes were in college and just had their dorm room open... So it made me think...what about you? When I lived in the dorms my first year at UNL I usually had the door open, not like it mattered, the only people that came in where the dudes right next to me. I remember some of the girls having their doors open all the time but not as many as the guys. In my frat I think the doors closed on their own and you would have had to prop them...which sounds like work.

He is more of a PG, that is what coaches are hoping, he is starting to blow up a bit.

I hate to say it...but I think you would be "Crazy" to go balls out in practice...games sure...but practice...in the position he is in (the same position that Clowney was in) if I had a winning lottery ticket I sure would not drive to the lotto offices with the ticket in my hand and my hand out the window. I am not saying you become a total slack job but I am saying you might start thinking about being just a bit more careful. Just like I would be pissed as hell if some O-lineman or RB went low on me in a practice and tried to cut me, even legally, I would be pissed.

I agree that we have to travel to recruit. But it's funny that the author doesn't mention anything about long distance recruiting for a team like Oregon, ranked #9 on this list. They haven't handed out an instate scholarship since 2013. Zero instate Oregon recruits for 2014 LINK or the current 2015 class. LINK They actually travel more for recruits than we do. He does mention the recruiting factor for Notre Dame though. But he ties ND to Catholic high schools. Does Neuter Dame only recruit Catholics? You bring up good points! Real fast though, Catholic High Schools do not only admit Catholic kids...far from it. But there is still a huge draw to ND from a lot of those schools. For Oregon, it seems like they get a lot of kids from Cali.

For me...Chewing. I did about 14 years of Copenhagen and Kodiak. When I showered, when I woke up, on the way to work, golfing, coaching, teaching, you name it. Then one day I decided, I was done. Never had a cheat chew, never had one again. My father smoked for probably 40 years...quit...never had another smoke.
