  1. On a scale of 1-10, one being not worried at all and 10 being worried as one can possibly be, where would you rank your concern level with the shift to a 3-4 scheme and how that will impact the defense's performance? Like a 1, I don't think the switch is all that big of a deal.
  2. I vote yes. They play some fantastically bad offensive teams. Purdue, Iowa, Rutgers, Illinois and Minnesota: Those teams should not get over 21 on the Huskers.
  3. Week 1 lines are out on my site. Huskies -16.5. If you want to know any other ones just ask. I'll see if I can find them

Is there a movie where an annoying guy complains the whole time about people complaining?

Also, "How do you like them apples?" is one of the most fun phrases to try to explain to someone who isn't a native English speaker.

I think Ben Affleck is the guy in the movie that complains about people complaining.

In Oz he was the the retarded brother of the guy who does the Allstate "mayhem" commercials.

  5. From people with jobs The Personal Income Tax Rate in Finland stands at 51.60 percent. Personal Income Tax Rate in Finland averaged 52.96 percent from 1995 until 2016, reaching an all time high of 62.20 percent in 1995 and a record low of 49.00 percent in 2010.Link This is like a wet dream for some people. I thought they also tried nailing Finnish hockey players who were in the NHL.
  6. The support staff stuff can't really get regulated. It would need to be done at the school level for it to have a chance. Honestly, if it provides jobs I am all for it not being regulated.
  7. Riley seems to be getting the kid-glove treatment that Tim Miles was getting but at least Tim went to the dance. Most of the fan base has soured on Tim...seems like Riley is still loved by 90% of the fan base. I am indifferent, I don't care who the coach is, I just care that they win. I also don't care about the old "as long as the games are competive and the coach is a good guy I am happy" line of thinking. Win games, it is an easy way to judge a coach. Riley needs to win and it seems like he is taking all the steps to do that. Hired really great recruiters and coaches, now he needs to do one last thing, win.
  8. See, that's something I can get behind. We've fallen so far that some people view 8-4 as exceeding expectations, and a good thing. That's just sad. Yep, Riley lowered the bar in year 1, even though a monkey could win 9 games a year at Nebraska. The Bo haters wish they could take that one back!
  9. So my betting site has odds on who will sit on the iron throne at the end of Game of Thrones season 7.

Stannis Baratheon at 50:1. You'd think his odds would be a bit longer considering his last meeting with Brienne. lol

Sinus infection? Uh huh. Guess you guise must have listened to that suggestion about cocaine yesterday.

  11. Oh there will be excuses, you can count on that! Yeah, sadly that is true but if Riley has this supposed top pick QB and can't win...well that is scary.
  12. I will take it...if Riley now has, what is considered to be the best Pro-Style QB in college well...it sure means there are very few excuses left.
  13. Oh my god...they might be doing a community pool and lazy river in my neighborhood

  14. Once I got to college I really started watching a lot more games but I think that had to do with starting to gamble.
  15. I have said that over and over...these guys are not sitting around on Saturdays like we do... They are working out and getting laid, which is pretty much the exact opposite of my high school existence. Ha! My Saturdays in high school consisted of watching film of a game I didn't play in...followed by pretending to workout while me and the other guys that didn't play talked about the party after the game the night before and what our plans were for that night. Sometimes we would brag if we touched a boob.

  17. Agreed! Seems like a no brainer. With very little effort at all we could generate another million or so in revenue. I mean, it's not like people don't already drink alcohol on gameday anyway. This pisss me off...NU needs to get on this. He'll even keep it local. Let local vendors buy/rent a space...say 50k ( just a made up number, it could be 10k) to rent for the season...take up to 20 vendors (if possible)...NU keeps that money, vendors charge what they want for their beers...NU gets 10% of the sales from each vendor or NU charges 1 dollar for a 21 year older wrist band. Most beer companys are making money on selling kegs for about 150, probably cost them $60 to make. That's about 1.25 a beer in cost per beer to the university. You would need to sell them at least $6.25 for the university to consider that because most things in the stadium run at 400% to 500% markup. Why make $1 per beer, when you should be making $5 to $6. I really had no idea on any of those numbers I was just tossing them out. As an idea. Keeping it local keeping it Nebraska-based. That's all I meant. But you're right I'm sure the school would rather make more money if They could.
  18. Interesting to read it that his energy and schtic might've cost him a bigger job.
  19. I was thinking the same thing. I know lots of male students that are going into welding, electrical and plumbing
  20. Agreed. I did know one girl who admitted to me that her "doctor boyfriend" (he was an undergrad who wanted to go to med school) was going to take care of her and she was just going to college "for the experience." Her family was pretty wealthy. But, to your point, she had to have been an anomaly. Most women (and most people) are going to college to learn and apply that knowledge to the work force. I would imagine it's a very small percentage that go to college planning to meet their husband… I would imagine it's a very high percentage of people that go to college hoping/thinking they might meet their significant other. There is nothing wrong with that. Looking back on it now I probably thought and hoped I would meet my wife in college… There was a girl there that I knew I wanted to get to know and would've loved to Marry… But she never talked to me. There's a big difference between the two bolded points and I'm sure that's the point of your post. Yep! It is.
  21. I only know one and that is out of the thousands of students I have taught and their families.
  22. I had a parent teacher conference a few years ago and the mom was from Utah… We got talking about colleges she said she went to University of Utah and said that the girls that go to BYU go to get there Mrs. degree. She probably would have been in college in the 80s. I had never heard that term before… She actually had to explain it to me.
  23. There's a key word in there. There are a bunch of key words...
