  1. I'm going to put together something that completely refutes Dirk's dumbass tweet from today in the next several days. I just broke down the players from within 500 miles that were in the 2009 Rivals Top 250. Out of those, we "missed" two from Chicago that went to ND and NW that made pro rosters; one from Iowa went to Iowa and made a pro roster; one from Colorado that went to Colorado that is now a team captain. That is about it. Out of those guys, there isn't a DE that had better stats than Eric Martin, not a QB who produced more than TMart, and not a running back that ran for more yards than Rex. Dirk being the moron he is.
  2. I hate Dirk Chatelain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He blocked when I asked him if he'd like me to point out how bad of a writer he was on a daily basis.

  3. You can always find me. I'm one of the only ones that drinking Windsor out of the bottle.
  4. Believe he coined the phrase "Dick Clique"
  5. Last year I believe we were in 21. I'll go ahead and say 21 if it's any different I'll let people know. I'll set a status as soon as I'm there.
  6. Reason I don't like it for this particular game is it's going to allow their LBs to get closer to the LOS because we only have two real immediate vertical threats. We've got to try to get them to defend sideline to sideline and all the way back to the endzone. Why can't the diamond formation do that? Because you don't have as many traditional vertical threats that you do if you have more Wideouts. You could run wheel routes with the RBs I suppose, but it would be a very slow developing play. We've got to force them to get out of their base defense.

  8. Don't like the idea of going from the diamond formation. I don't think we will see it much.
  9. Clinkscales I like what we have on the roster, but having another body will help.
  10. Damn it. I drunkenly handed mine to the cute reporter in the student section last year at the Michigan game. If you look back at when she was doing her little piece for ESPN you can see both AK-47 and me stumbling around.
  11. One of the things I couldn't stand about the Doc Sadler era was how terrible we were on the offensive boards. I think you could count on one hand how many second chance points we scored IN HIS ENTIRE TENURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like how this kid is tough on the offensive boards and then goes up and scores.
  12. I actually shot some people some PMs in fall camp that said that you would see Ron Kellogg in before you saw Tommy in the first few weeks because he still wasn't at full speed after they opened up his knee again in August.
  13. Chuck Long said on BTN that we have a better chance of being shut out than AA getting 100 yards. Well Chuck, we are going to have more rushing yards on one series than MSU is giving up on average to B1G opponents in whole games.

The Michigan game mattered. Every game last year after the Ohio State game mattered.

Chuck Long played at Iowa, so of course he doesn't like Nebraska. It's science.

Mr. Accountability, the same thing was being said when we played Florida in the Bowl game? Back then, it was the Florida offense that was supposed to bury us with its speed!

  14. This type of guy is what a lot of Husker fans describe that they want.
  15. You are absolutely right EZE. I am getting very impatient. I have not been satisfied since prior to sitting in Folsom Field and watching the debacle in 2001. I recognize that Bo has accomplished much and much of it came quicker than it probably should have, considering where we were. You're right, we're at that last hump, and more difficult point but, it just drives me nuts when I see coaching decisions and actions that keep us from getting that leg over the hill. My qualms with some on this board, not referring to you at all is that they look at things in this program as if they are black and white. They aren't. There are so many factors that play into these past 5+ years some of which fall at our coach's feet. For example, the 2010 DL recruiting class. That's just one example. But there are others that simply can't be blamed on one person.
  16. Gonna depend on the draft.
  17. That's bullsh#t. You question someones fandom because they want the program to win more and perform better? You must be of the opinion that this is as good as it can be. Not ranked, squeaking by Wyoming, losing to Minnesota, getting blown out by UCLA and, so far, one great win beating Michigan in their house. That's it? That's all you want? Which team are you a fan of? JJ; thanks for the defense, not to worry, everyone is entitled. My seats in the stadium are always full and I hoot and holler with the best of them +1 for the save! Sorry it just pisses me off when people go there. We all want the best for this program. We just have differing opinions of what that is and how to get there. But I'm done with accepting mediocrity. People throw up nine wins and one of only I five programs stats like it should be a discussion ending statement. What ends the discussion is walking off that field with no regrets and your best game lying on that field. God do I want to see that again. Wouldn't being one of only five programs to win 9 games the last 5 years be above mediocrity??
  18. A) Run the football. B) Very difficult situation for a guy like me. How well have we been running the ball? Regardless, this is on the defense if this team blew a 12 point lead.
  19. The problem was that Bo exceeded expectations too quickly. Nobody expected him to win 9 games that first year, but he did. Nobody expected him to be a second short of a conference title in 09, but he was. Had he went from 7 wins the first year to 9 wins the second year to winning 10 his final year in I don't think anyone would be angry now because progress would have been apparent. The issue we are having currently is taking one of the final steps and winning a conference title which isn't the easiest thing in the world to do. The thing that has people impatient is that Bo wasn't suppose to be a contender for the conference in 2009. But since we skipped a lot of steps in between being garbage and being a conference contender, people are impatient.
  20. With our pitiful offense in 2009, the way that the staff played field position and set it up so that every drive the other team had to go the length of the field, I'd say you could credit the staff that year with a lot. Never really made a huge head scratching decision that lost us a game.
