  1. Is anyone able to point me to how to get the Woodshed password?

  2. You're also forgetting all the extra kicks in practice he would have to do. So in the end that 200 is a gross underestimate.
  3. Ruud and David on the field at the same time? No other player on our defense would get a tackle then. But we do need a Linebacker to complement David, one that's proven. Compton played alright and Fisher is coming off a broken leg, need to see more of them before I'd pronounce them ok.
  4. Keith Law from ESPN put out a mock draft, and he has Starling going 9th to the Cubs. What this means and who exactly Law is I don't know, but I do know that being picked 9th isn't being picked 1st. Of course everything we've seen and heard from Starling makes it sound like the money is going to be down his decision list instead of near the top.
  5. Found it interesting in the article Beck talks about Turner's position change. It comes down to the fact that first the coaches feel comfortable that 1 of the 3 QBs (Martinez, Green, or Carnes) will be fine at QB, and second that Turner was putting too much pressure on himself to come out and be the MAN. No problem with him wanting to do that, but when it's affecting his on-field performance, then something needs to change. The move opened him up to just get on the field have fun and play. I'll congratulate the coaches for that. Especially if Turner does the same thing he did in the Spring Game in the fall.
  6. It might not be just us showing us something that blew them away, but rather they came away unimpressed from the other Legend division teams.
  7. Interesting fact no. 1: Nebraska had the fourth highest amount of players taken in the draft. Trailing NC and USC at 9 and Miami which had 8. Progress people Progress.

And think...3 of USC's 9 picks were in the bottom 15. Total skewed stat

About time. Little Danny Snyder got himself a good RB.

  9. On one hand I can understand the Lions pick, Fairley has been expected to go in the top 5 ever since the season ended, and he just fell into their laps. Add him to Suh, Vandenbosh, and the rest of the DL, and you don't have to expect him to be a 3 down guy. But they did need back 7 help and a CB probably would've been a better pick.
  10. Methinks that the Lions will have the best DL in the NFL next year.
  11. He tried to shoot his sister's husband(?)/boyfriend in the situation that has lead to his most recent troubles.
  12. I'd love for us to play at least one home game a year with throwback unis. Loved the '62 unis we wore in '09. Out of all those I think I'd like to see '29 brought back for a game.
  13. I'm looking for a 3-4 with both Stache and Martin playing OLB/DE and Crick being a DE, but do we have a DT who could play the nose guard position?
  14. McShay is liking Jimmy Smith as the #2 CB over Prince, can anyone explain why?

Like huskerjock said . . . it's just like saying McCoy was better than Suh. No one pays attention if you say that Prince is better than Smith. Flip it and you've got outrage.

  15. I think Mitchell has a better chance at being a punt returner as long as he learns to pick a hole and hit it. Sometimes dancing around will help you break a long one, but more often than not you're going to end up gaining little to nothing by doing that. But yeah I think any CBs not named Dennard have a chance at starting with Evans having a little head start based on his experience from last year.
  16. I love it, does look a little weird extending like it does upwards alongside the relative short height of the North and South Stadiums, but I'm sure once it's complete it'll look amazing.
  17. Pretty sure his HS coach was a McCarney, might have been the one who coached Colorado during the late 80s and early 90s and he had nothing but praise for Bell. I'm excited to see what he can do next Saturday.
  18. The story was very meh, but it's a very visually striking movie.
  19. The biggest thing is that if we do ok against Wisky my fears for our defense in the Big 10 will drop. Wisconsin's offense is a type of offense we haven't seen for the past few years but I do have confidence that the Pelini's will pull through. I really think the 50 defense is going to be perfect against Wisconsin, especially if one of the DEs we use ends up being Martin, who could play along the line or even move back to a Linebacker spot seamlessly.
  20. I tend to think of it as the only affordable way to get to see a football game in Memorial Stadium (I don't care about the High School Championships). I would love to see a football game in the fall, but this will be my only chance for the year.
  21. Definitely has the size for it, though where would he work best?
  22. I could see them putting in a position that will be part WR and part RB and using athletes like Gilleylen there now. The position would flow from being a slot receiver to the backfield and play in either of those positions easily. We do have a few incoming freshmen that would be great in that position (Green and Abdullah) and some guys already on the roster (Bell, Turner, and I guess Gilleylen). I'm excited to see what we do with a position like that and whether or not any of our players can become a player similar to what Harvin was at Florida.
  23. Definitely a need, hopefully we can grab this one.
  24. I really think that as long as we aren't playing a spread team next year (Michigan, Northwestern come to mind as a spread team) we are going to be playing David at Hagg's spot. He'll be jumping to whatever side the extra TE/WR is to cover him against a team like Wisconsin where you're going to need at least 3 LBs or more down linemen. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if we jumped to a 4-3 with Meredith playing the LB on the strongside of the offensive formation against Wisconsin. In effect we'll be playing a 5-2 but Meredith's role will be similar to what he did for us against Missouri. I think Smith will be able to fix whatever went wrong with his tackling last year (he was the leading tackler in the Texas game) and contribute greatly. I also like Blue, Evans, and Jackson to split time at the second corner/nickel/dime. Stafford is going to find himself on the football field somewhere, and Martin is going to end up with 10+ sacks as a pass-rush specialist (similar to what Turner was for us his freshman year).
