  1. Hard to imagine he would follow Riley, and take a step down to position coach. If so the guy has no ego..... Well lets take a look at his situation. 1) He remains in Corvalis as an unemployed former DC of a school who lost their coach and his longtime boss to Nebraska ...or 2) He follows Riley as a position coaching making $300k+. Still hard to imagine?
  2. remember when ESPN was talking abut this between Miami, Nebraska, and FSU.
  3. I don't care if every one of the staff is a friend or family member of Riley's - so long as he doesn't fill it with first time coordinators with little to no experience and a handful of GA's he drags from OSU.
  4. were each of these questions or statements?
  5. I don't understand that. Doesn't he have to sit out next year no matter what? What is the mistake exactly... Or is he saying the mistake would be to transfer at all? a mistake to not at least give Riley a chance by going through spring.
  6. it's not about whether they are saying good things, it's about whether they are saying bad things. and in my case, i would be saying zero bad things because I, like these coaches - have a non disparagement agreement.
  7. Bo had another year tacked on after getting demolished by Iowa and daring the administration to fire him. His agent is, apparently, much better.
  8. i kind of figured that would be a reason to make the switch. Your front 3 are your NT and 2 DTs, making our rush ends OLBers needing only 2 traditional LBers. Looking at our DE's they'd fit that role fine. Moss, Gregory, etc.
  9. Growing up in rural Nebraska and hunting and trapping 150+ coons per year while in high school . . . I can say with a high degree of certainty that this didn't happen in the order that Gangwish claims. Although with fur prices where they are I'm not sure why he'd bother . . . Okay...I kind of thought it seemed odd too! How do you think it went down? Sees coon. Grabs wrench. Hits/kicks coon. Gets bitten. Finishes the job. Lots of trouble for a $5 coon. probably about $25 in the hole after he buys fur permit
  10. I'd imagine they gravitate towards a select few (like all of us) and spend as much if not more time than any of us within them. I tried to read HuskerMax a couple weeks ago to get an idea if there was any sort of difference between the thoughts - and frankly the navigation, organization and familiarity I have with this board made abandon the thing within an hour or so. I bet each of them have their favorite hangouts and spend plenty of time there. They'd have a decent gauge on the loudest (Nupolo - now 74) individuals on the boards.
  11. if left untreated the clap may last for weeks or months with higher risks of complications
  12. i'm pretty sure you can attribute 5-6 of armstrong's interceptions to this mis-communication w/ his receivers - yet the end of the season looked exactly like the beginning.
  13. I really thought we'd offer him before. I think he'd be interested but his dad said at the time that he'd encourage him to stick with his commitment even if Nebraska offered later. Will be interesting so see who they go after in the next month. this would give him a legitimate 'out' though - i could see it happening. we'll be using more TE's/WR's w/ Riley.
  14. not sure if this was Cross or the fact that our OL took longer to develop running lanes than they should. there's often a benefit to being patient and letting things develop.
  15. This same conversation happened every offseason under Bo. You heard it in regards to stafford, and evans, and green, and banderras, etc. And at the same time you heard it every offseason in regards to the offense. "We're simplifying things". EVERY offseason. This is nothing new, we've all talked about it for years. But nothing ever changed, and the results were the same. Bo/Beck didn't know how to "dumb down" either the D or the O, and therefore we looked like a bunch of idiots out there a large percentage of the time.
  16. I defended BP the first 3-4 years, ignored it the next couple and flat out avoided it (by limiting my Husker gear) the last couple. No one was ever vulgar, I'm old enough now the bars I hang out with are full of plenty of respectful people - Kevin Keitzman being one that is around frequently and obviously has an opinion on college football. There is one guy that I ran into early in the season who's a decent size donor - goes to every game, travels with the team - has a suite I think. I was talking to him for a couple hours one night. I thought he was going to fight me by the time the night was over talking about Bo. He was so upset his wife made him leave. (i think she was kind of on my side) He was 100% in Bo's corner, and flat out despised anyone with an opinion otherwise. Bo was the best thing that has happened to Nebraska in years, etc. Called me an idiot for even thinking Bo could be fired this season. I saw him last week but didn't say anything - figured I'd let it play out before I got an opinion on things since the firing. And part of me wants to laugh at him.
  17. If last weekend was any indication, that's a very real possibility. each year that passes OSU gets a little farther ahead of everyone else. I have a feeling we'll be playing a #1 or #2 team for the championship every year. He's going to need to be solid during the regular season because we wont' be beating them all that often.
  18. There is absolutely a differing of opinions between in-state Husker fans and out-of-state Husker fans IMO. I've been saying that for a couple of years now. Like it or not our opinion of him is influenced by the opinion of others - and outside of Nebraska Bo is not a liked character. He's shifted the opinion of the Nebraska brand outside of the state - I've been watching it happen for the last few years. I have run into dozens of Husker fans since the firing and none show any concern. I've also run into a number of Iowa fans, and most expressed some jealousy that they can't pull the plug. Other's fans' reaction started with "about time". In Nebraska, I don't think you run into as diverse of a fan base as in KC - and the ones that are there are in such a minority they are jaded. Same goes for Husker fans in NE - they kind of have a "pack" mentality in-state. Get outside and you're usually on your own. Defending Pelini became virtually impossible around 2 years ago, and it just got old after a while. Wearing Husker gear at a bar was just inviting someone to sling sh#t your way about Pelini.
  19. except the source I was pulling from switched them up from year to year... so my original numbers were mixed
  20. If it turns into a Bill Snyder type of situation then I agree with you 100%. There's not many of those guys out there though, I'm not sure Riley is quite at that level so I'm leaning towards us needing to recruit more than 3* guys - which is why, though really high on the hire, I'm a little disappointed with the assistants thus far - just from a recruiting standpoint. Seems like we've missed some opportunities to really be able to upgrade our talent. Time will tell whether that is a true statement or not.
  21. Or from TM. This has been prevalent for the last 4-5 years and is more indicative of scheme than the roster.
  22. playing with all 11 guys on offense is really going to help things. 9/10 versus 11 is tough for even Alabama.
  23. year/passes/rushes (bolded is rodgers era - other 4 years was mannion who was a solid passer) 2014 / 472 / 376 2013 / 625 / 355 2012 / 505 / 442 2011 / 503 / 318 2010 / 373 / 386 2009 / 478 / 440 2008 / 448 / 487 He's certainly more balanced when he has a rushing attach which Nebraska has. But, he's still going to lean towards the pass heavier that we are used to I think.
