It does seem like kind of a grey area, and forward progress is a judgement call anyway. The only other somewhat valid comparison I can draw is on a kick or punt return. If you catch the ball outside the endzone but your momentum takes you into it can be a touchback.

There was no forward progress to be had, he was moving backwards on his own to begin with. When his knee hit the ground the ball was already across the boundary.
  3. Because when it does get stopped what the hell are you going to do? You don't have anything "innovative" to change it up with. I thought Beck called a pretty good game this week, he was clearly trying to establish the run early and did. When they were slowing it down he went to the air, but for whatever reason TA couldn't execute the passing game. The guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. Yes there are times he gets too cute, running Cross wide 3 times in a row against SDSU was stupid, but if you pay attention they're also a method to his madness. If you want to keep a defense honest you can't just run Imani up the gut every time he's in.
  4. Think whatever you want about Manziel's character, but you gotta admit it's a hell of a lot of fun to watch him play football.

Who cares? Clearly they're talented or they wouldn't be playing. Obviously if you watch the games you known they're talented, they just need the experience. Over halfway through the season we're seeing the experience pay off. If we can survive this season, the next few years will be fun to watch. Yes indeedy! I'm pretty pumped for next year seeing what these young guns have been able to do so far.

Nope , no growing pains. I'm tired of the youth excuse. No excuses anymore, other big name schools have freshman playing at a very high level. It comes down to coaching, and of course freakish athletic ability, which we have all over the place with the young guns we have right now Please, note me one other program in the nation that has 5-6 freshman/redshirt freshman occuping spots in the front 7 more times than not. Sure, they have some freshman, but we're putting a lot of them out there, at once, on numerous occasions. Wasn't the stat today that our 2 deep on defense is almost 50% freshmen and sophomores?

Talk to your doctor. This is a curable disease. No need to be embarrassed - happens to lots of people. Oh I had something, but it wasn't that. And surprising it was from the states and not the Philippines. The gift that keeps on giving huh?
  9. I think we've REALLY missed Ben Cotton's blocking all year. Long is decent but our TE blocking has been well below average most of the year. Ben Cotton's blocking? Really? No. He was good, much better than Reed anyway.

Never was unique to us, we stole it from Braxton Miller and Urban.
  11. No friggin idea why you do that with 50 seconds left.
  12. Love how the harder Ameer gets hit the quicker he gets up and the more fun he looks like he's having.
  13. Mid point in the season everybody's getting beat up I guess.
  14. In a lot of pain and they looked at his knee right away not good.
  15. Just from my casual observation I'd say our d-linemen have better motors than I've seen in a while. I guess that's why I haven't been as shook up as most about our D and think most of the problems are from youth. Our greatest offense, possibly ever, that scores 0 in the second half against UCLA is what concerns me the most. You'd think that kind of offense would do better. We've been rotating A LOT this year. Seems like every snap we have time to someone new comes in on the front 4.
  16. He's not. I've seen him driving around before and saw him early this year in it still. It's a pretty nice ride. Kind of funny how the football guys all go to different clubs.
  17. If you're talking about the student section, it's pretty easy to cram people in. My freshman year back in the day I had south stadium tickets and if you were in the first 40 rows you were smashed together on the bench and people were standing in the ilses in between benches. You were lucky if you had a comfortable seat at half time. In East stadium it's not quite as bad except for big games, but some students also sneak over to east. The last Oklahoma game was terrible, You had to stand sideways and people were standing on the stairs and in the isles.
  18. I've used it for 3 games this year, and I can check espn score center and get on the internet all be it slowly. Wasn't sure about texts because they send, but you never really know if the other person receives it or not. If you have 3g though you're probably f'ed. Obviously right before the game and at halftime you're not going to be doing much of anything. The first game of the year it was blazing from the student section, I sent messages and got on the web pregame and during kick off like it was nothing. But i did notice that from west stadium last game it was pretty slow. Like I said though what we have now is suppose to be one of the better setups in the country. I think your really asking a lot when you have almost over 90,000 Devices in about a city block sized area.
  19. Actually I had a buddy who worked on the cell towers in the stadium this summer. You can check updates on the internet all day like it's nothing and send texts but media messages and uploading crap to FB isn't happening during the game. He said the system is already one of the most advanced in the nation and Verizon already wanted to upgrade it before it was even finished. But they're not the official sponsor anymore so I don't know how that will work now.
  20. I know the EXACT thing you are talking about. Thad is lined up in between the 3 and the 5 technique and Scheelhaase did a good job of getting them in the right play for the right defense. They got a double on Thad and he was going for a ways. Yup, it was only a matter of time before someone figured it out. We have to change that or we will give up big runs on that set. Funny thing about that is Curry almost blew it up for a one yard loss. But almost doesn't count... Keeps me hopeful though that we've got the right guys, they just need time.
