Is he sure he wants any more attention paid to the officiating?... Many in the program have suggested that there is a possible fix and they have been sending tapes for years. Now as fans, we have something tangible for everyone to see. It was done on their sideline as well so no Nebraska coach or player could see.

When damion Daniels got tackled, they threw that flag for holding. The lead ref over turned the flag and disguised it with a no foul for illegal formation. That’s my gut feeling.

It's got to be at DE. Nebraska needs a guy to get sacks, hurries, and cut stop a little more. Hutmacher isn't that type of player. Ruud and the defensive staff are safe in my eyes and quite frankly becoming an elite collections of coaches. But I am not judging based on piss poor performances. I am talking about making that 5-10% jump. The front seven collectively needs just a little more speed. Nebraska has a few guys who are just good enough to make the play they're being asked. We need one or two guys who can add splash to that. One guy they need to reexamine during the offseason is Ty Robinson. He is too good to not be more of a factor. I watch him closely and imo I would start to have him drop weight. Ty at 285 with proper fundamentals should be a monster. At 310, he is lumbering around and tiring out.

The offense has to figure out how to score at least two touchdowns in the first half in every game and I think they win more than they lose. Defensively, we need talent improvement in real specific spots. DE and Middle linebacker. We need a little less stickiness and guys who can dictate the lines with a Damion Daniels type. Nick Heinrich is a good kid and solid. Still, he gives me dedrick young vibes. The kind of guy who is a step late and gets tackles after the first down.

Man, I just think the defense was a little too leaky for my liking. That was not the game to be trending downward.

Based on everything we have seen thus far, Nebraska is the more battle tested team. They have played one more game and have played better opponents. They do match up pretty well, and their strength goes against our weakness. Offensively we are going to present them with more fits than they have seen. Nebraska will negate their pass rush a bit by putting them in conflict most of the game. They will get their plays blitzing but it will bite when they get hit over the top or Adrian breaks one. The option is also going to negate their front quite a bit. I still think they will play pretty good on D and they will have a lot of good moments. Nebraska needs to find victories even in the stalled drives. Eat up clock when you can and find the minutes you can choke down to really limit their scoring opportunities. This inevitably changes the way Michigan will have to call the game and I don't think they want their QB's throwing 30+ against us. This needs to be Nebraska's best game defensively for the year. Stop the run and you will like your chances. I want their young, inexperienced QB's throwing in obvious passing downs. When they do score, no big chunk plays. Make them earn it and use up their whole play sheet, while forcing them to eat up a ton of clock. I like Michigan's team this year, and I rooted for them this past saturday. However, they will not be the best opponent we play this year and we have played one team that is better and one that could easily beat them. Look for Nebraska to try and build off the run game and see if this O-line can be just competent. If it does that, the game changes dramatically. Michigan will not be able to take as many chances knowing Nebraska can score as opposed to Wisconsin. Then let's see who plays better when uncomfortable.

What we learned? This offense is being held back by those who are running it. Whatever happens at the end of this year, I am looking at one guy first and he runs the D. I am serious.

Adrian is not the problem.

It is hard for me to argue that. The only thing that I can add is that this issue goes beyond stats, ability, x's and o's, etc. When he came in as a Freshman, I saw some issues that persist today but the way he played was much more free. He was a lot more accurate when he needed to be. As the years have gone by, those things started to fade. All the while, Frost's demeanor and confidence started to wane as well. The pressure is on so much internally that Adrian is carrying not only the pressure of being the QB here, but the pressure of saving Frost. Adrian can make throws and be accurate. When I saw the pass to Toure I saw a scared pass that was aimed in. Something he didn't show in the Spring Game. He was also slower in this game than he showed in the Spring game, and it tells me that he's overwhelmed. I then wondered how much pressure is on this kid beyond what's normal. I know that comes with the territory, but this has become so much about Scott that I think even the players lose themselves when they are here. Culp missing two PAT's tells me that there is an anxiety level beyond comprehension. This team really believed that this was make or break and it hurt them. I understand it's a privilege to play somewhere with expectations. It just seems like this whole mess became about the well being of Frost and not the kids when they are the ones who have to perform. It reversed and neither are prepared to handle it. Everyone asks and wonders if Scott Frost is happy here, but nobody stops to think if the players are. I think the fun of the game has been completely removed from the facilities of Nebraska because it's not about them. It's about the prodigal son, then the boosters and regents, then AD, then his administration, and then the fans, oh and then the players... The issues that plague us now have been plaguing us since Solich but now they're compounded to the point of all these blunders, and it's so bad that our All conference kicker is freezing up during PAT's. I have a hard time believing Adrian is trash when despite all that's going against him, he flashes moments of brilliance that matches what your eye balls naturally tell you to believe. Four years from now, we are going to be so frustrated by how good of careers our current starters are going to have in the NFL.

Yeah he should not have done that. Easily fixable issues. At some point, the players need to be really smart there too. They can't always look to the side line to know what to do.

Don't let anyone fool you. Special teams is easy as far as how to align and what to do. If you have great athletes, that solves most of the issues. The issues we saw yesterday are mind crippling decisions. Guys pressing because things don't go well. Cam made that play thinking the moment was bigger than it actually was. Connor missed two PATs because kicking became crippling and his mind froze up. These kids are playing tense and scared. This is coming from the head man's demeanor.

You're right. The pressure the program naturally has, along with the added pressure internally from Frost is an absolute burden on this team, especially on Offense.

I agree to a certain extent. It doesn't help, and I made mention before that being in such a small and isolated community naturally has players and coaches playing "tight". However, Boneyard said it best, the fans are the reason Nebraska is still relevant and fruitful. Without us, Nebraska is Kansas. If there is any point in which fans should side with the players, it's now. This is the best collection of players we have had since the late 90s. Some might not agree with that, but I would say that every regime since Tom has had missing parts on one or two sides every year. There aren't any glaring holes on this roster. This is on Scott and Scott only. As a coach at Nebraska, whatever Scott touches, Scott worsens. He would be better off worrying solely about game management and making sure Nebraska is making the right decisions in terms of timeouts, challenges, fair catches, etc. If you want a good barometer in how these players are feeling out there, look at Adrian's fluttering completion to Toure (nervous, aiming throw) and Connon Culp. That is tightness and feeling that each moment is bigger than it actually is. It's become crippling. That comes from the head man who is beyond desperate to win. One last thing... I know people are ripping on Adrian really bad. I get it. I firmly believe that Adrian would be an All-American elsewhere. Being so tied to the hip of Frost, as the head coach of Nebraska has crippled Adrian's career beyond the imagination.

The best part about playing offense is that it's fun. Unfortunately, the Offense is there to save Scott's career and not just go out and have fun. And when that's the case, you have nervous play on every drive. The offense looked tight, and scared to just let it rip.

I think thats the part that needs to be reconciled by the players. Fans are going to be fans. That cannot be a distraction, and should be the expectation when you sign to play. The problem that I have is the administration, regents, donors, etc who seem to have different agendas and want to be the savior.

If the head man goes, I am okay with it. In some ways, I think his legacy here matters too much and it has stripped all the fun away from the players. It should always be about them, and not Scott. If Nebraska is at a point of looking for a new coach, I would want a thorough process in finding the replacement. I do think a solid candidate is on the staff already if we choose to look internally also. This is a disaster beyond the imagination. We have really good players and kids on this team. 11-12 of the guys we saw yesterday will be playing on Sunday in two years. In addition to that, I think Strangelove hit it on the head, there is too much toxicity in this program that goes well beyond the locker room that has too much of an influence. This place has had the fun sucked out of it for decades.
