I have to disagree here. I fully believe if Oregon wouldn't have thought the Auburn RB was down when he actually landed on the an Oregon defender and they would have finished the tackle, Auburn wouldn't have been able to be in position to kick the game winning field goal. It was a low scoring game even though both teams had a bunch of yards. I think Kelly and his style of offense could be successful. If you remember Nick Saban absolutely hates Kelly's style of fast paced offense and it's because it is extremely hard to stop! -
He did a fantastic job of honoring Sam Foltz after the accident. That could not have been an easy position to be put in, having a team leader pass away like that. But Coach Riley handled that with the utmost respect and class possible. That alone showed the kind of mentor he was and the kind of example he set for these young men who he coached. I wanted it to work for him so badly (and I will for the next coach also) but unfortunately it did not. Lets show Riley the same class and respect that he has shown us on his way out.

I know who this kid and have seen a lot of film on him. While he is a D1 caliber athlete he is not a D1 QB imo. Kid is extremely athletic but honestly i just don't seem the arm talent that others do (thats probably why I'm not a professional scout ) but if a kid isn't wide open he doesn't have the ability to throw the ball into a window like you have to in major college football. The kids accuracy at best will end up being like that of TA as a sophomore. I honestly would much rather see what Gebbia could do in Frost's system -

His reply was obviously sarcastic. -
I wouldn't read too much into this. Who is going to tell a recruit " well I hope you like the campus and everything but not the coach because his ass is gone!"

1. I think we would give him at least 5 years as long as we continue to show progress and start to become competitive with teams that we feel are traditionally on the same level as a program that we think we are/should be. 2. Again I feel like the program will be turned around when the later part of my #1 answer comes to fruition. Until then we may be trending upward but not turned around

I like how a lot of people are saying stoops. No way he comes out of retirement. He didn't leave OU because the team was going to struggle (Like Urban did Florida). I be they get Kelly or maybe Dan Mullen -

He may have told the coaches that he really isn't interested in Nebraska -
Realistic Coaching Hires with the AD
Husker from Kansas replied to Roll Skers's topic in Husker Football
I think more than anything us fans want to see a coach who year after year has our consistently trending in an upward direction until we are a top 15 team every year. We don’t want a once in every 5 years kinda coach. We want to see a quality product on the field every year and not get embarrassed every year. -
DE Micah Parsons [Penn State- Signed LOI]
Husker from Kansas replied to Mavric's topic in 2018 Profiles
It seems to me that Parson's really enjoys Nebraska and if he alone was making the choice I think he would be a Husker. BUT I feel his dad has enough influence here (which as a parent he should definitely have some influence) to sway Parson back to Penn St. I think the coaches have done a great job here and I really want to believe he will be here but my gut says otherwise -
Potential HC candidates not named Frost
Husker from Kansas replied to TheProdigalFrost's topic in Husker Football
I understand your points 1. Makes a ton of sense 2. I could see it being awkward but you’re a fool if you don’t think Riley has a wealth of knowledge, and honesty who gives a damn about fairness. everyone is clamoring for us to get back to being a year in and year out contender. So if we’re worried about being fair and not trying to find every avenue within the rules to put us in the best position possible then what in the hell are we doing? 3. Again I’m not worried about Riley’s feelings. He appears to be an upstanding individual but damn it if we don’t start doing everything in our ability to right the ship we are doomed to mediocrity. -

Husker from Kansas replied to TheProdigalFrost's topic in Husker Football
I just had a thought and I don’t think I’ve seen it anywhere yet. What if instead of firing Riley why don’t we tell him we want him as a “recruiting consultant “ and then bring in Frost for the head coach. Riley could help Frost and show him how he has helped get recruits interested in Nebraska again, the Frost could use that and get top shelf guys. -
*** 2017 Game 5 "Expert" Picks: Nebraska at Illinois ***
Husker from Kansas replied to Saunders's topic in Husker Football
With Lee at QB this is a very real possibility -
I wonder If Diaco thinks this too, and thats why we keep playing them 8-10 yards off the LOS? Trying to keep them from getting torched deep
-
I learned there needs to a bunch of big ass fans under the stadium to help with the god awful heat and humidity
-
This should have happened along time ago, and if he does, it very well could save his job
-
I like the idea of Dan Mullen. He was the QB coach for Urban Meyer. Coached Alex Smith, Tim Tebow, Dak Prescott, some guy at bowling green (can't remember the name) and now Nick Fitzgerald. His teams consistently play hard nosed aggressive football. They run the option. Everything the "old timers" that surround Nebraska football are always clamoring for. He has coached against the best of the best. And he just made an insanely talented LSU team with an absolute stud RB look like punks. Is he the best out there? IDK, but he is definitely someone who should be looked at. BUT whoever we hire (thats if we fire Riley, not sure the new AD will do that in his first couple months) will probably have to be given some time considering his style of play will be totally different than what we have recruited for under Riley
