  1. I can see why they have us ranked but 24th is as high as I would go with our final record. What gives us that ranking is how we finished the season; we should have beaten both Ohio State and Iowa and gone 6-0 to finish the season and people who witnessed those games could see how bright the future is in Lincoln. Finish up the recruiting class, see how that ends up and then rank us would have been a bit better. The new recruits are going to be getting playing time and will be part of the revival. I predict we finish near the top 10.
  2. Noa has always been on my big three wish list (Ty and Wandale being the other two). If we land him (which I believe will happen) and get his cousin Matt it will be like getting that three scoop sundae with the cherry on top; best recruiting class in a long, long time.
  3. The recruiting will come around once the winning begins. Frost was able to take UCF recruits and beat a good Auburn team that beat Alabama, he didn't need top 5 talent to do it. Once those CCG and big bowl game wins come, then those top 100 players will be looking at Nebraska as the place they want to be to launch them into the NFL, not Alabama. And I believe it will happen a lot sooner than most expect.
  4. Depends on the recruiting service. Rivals currently has us at #16 right behind #15 Ohio State: 247 doesn't seem to like us as much:
  5. Would love to have OU back and maybe their little Brother but F Texass.
  6. When CB's began flying in for Kentucky those last 24 hours I never changed my vote, I figured this kid (being that, a kid) was worried about being far from home. I knew eventually that he would come around though I was a big upset at his decision that day. A few things that likely helped in bringing him to Nebraska: The video of the half empty stadium and players going off on their fans. What kid would want to play for a team that has a very good record and no one shows up to see him play? Injury to Spielman. I think this also played a part in his decision as he is just one play from being the starter. The coaches saw this also and knew they had to bring this kid home. I hope this is a lesson to the fans that anything can happen before NSD and to leave these kids alone. It is very childish to attack a teenager who is under a ton of pressure from all sides to make a decision and sometimes that pressure gets to them. Let the coaches do their jobs, don't give them extra work trying to repair damage caused by fans. Edit: Forget one big reason: Devine Ozigbo - What a transformation (I'm still enjoying my crow, thank you very much!); the kid looks like an NFL running back today. Any running back in high school that took notice (I'm sure Wandale was watching) should be looking seriously at coming to Nebraska after what the coaching staff accomplished with him.
  7. Alter is a good powerhouse school in Ohio, they play a tough schedule so he sees good competition.
  8. Hmm, Solich or Callahan? I think I'd take another ten years of Solich over the Callahan error any day.
  9. Steven M. Sipple: Howl all you want about Chinander, but Blackshirts need upgrades in talent https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/steven-m-sipple-howl-all-you-want-about-chinander-but/article_f3192ae3-65a8-550c-bc39-eba33a8634fc.amp.html
  10. The record will flip next season and 10 wins is not out of the question.
  11. Good game. Iowa, that is it, no more wins in this series for the next 20+ seasons.
  12. Frost and co. will have a good game plan to take Michigan State's defense out of their usual comfort zone (just as he did at Oregon). Michigan State's offense will have a chance to pad their (dismal) stat line in this game as our defense is a paper tiger. Both teams will turn the ball over but Nebraska will come out on top of the turnover battle once again and I can see them scoring enough points to put the game out of reach for Sparty's offense. Nebraska 31, Michigan State 21
  13. Any way Moos can get a game at Hawaii scheduled so we can get to six wins?
  14. This will be the best defense we've played since Michigan so should offer a very good look into just how far we have come offensively since then. The Ohio State offense looked like crap against them, they simply do not make many mistakes. Ohio State's D really slammed the door on them but that is due to Sparty's offensive ineptitude. My guess is we will see a good dose of MSU running backs getting the ball in this one. This game should be really close and may come down to a late field goal to win it.
  15. He seemed to be at least keeping pace with the Illinois DB's while running to the zone, his speed has improved a ton, I'm betting he is running a 4.5 right now.
  16. Offense looks great and with Frost only recruited players in four or five years will be absolutely scary to opposing defenses throughout the country (and that includes Alabama). Defense on the other hand, wow, I try to look away when they take the field, it truly is cringeworthy. It really is a huge talent/football IQ issue. We should be okay in three or four seasons of recruiting but we need to get a lot better talent on that side of the ball and next years class as of right now, just isn't going to cut it. It will be improved no doubt but until we start winning 9+ games a season, we just aren't going to get the elite talent on D looking to come to Nebraska. Offense is not an issue, kids see Frost's brilliance and we'll be recruiting at an incredible level in the years to come on that side of the ball. Special teams was a focus this week in practice and you could see it on the field this week, needs to continue to be a focus. We need a kicker, badly, every time he kicks a simple extra point I hold my breath.
  17. Unranked even if we finish 3 - 0. But, by the time we play OSU on 09/28, we will not only be ranked but that game will be a nationally televised Saturday night game.
  18. I learned that: Our 3 and 4 stars can play with OSU's 4 and 5 stars. Ohio State fans are very nervous of what Frost is bringing to the B10. We will win out. The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
  19. This thread is still going on? He didn't choose to be N, that's fine and I'm happy for him. I don't want kids to come to Nebraska that aren't ready to bleed red so hasta la vista baby.
  20. We won't be able to stop their offense, our defense is just to s#!tty. Best we can hope for is to hold them in the 40's and hope our offense can get there too. I would be thrilled with a loss by 7 or less.
  21. Perhaps flag football is in our future.
