@Moiraine hey, what did yall do?  I am fortunate that we have so many lawn & tree trimmer crews here that you can easily find someone for $900-1000.  Did you take care of it?

@admo we got a cheaper quote of $1,650 so I'll probably pay that. We have 9 trees and I don't know the last time they were done (just moved in last August).

Super late to this party, probably too late, but figured I'd throw in my two cents.

We had a huge limb fall of a tree last year and get stuck about 25-30 feet in the air. We used a company my neighbors had previously used. It cost $550 for them to come remove the limb and then they also trimmed the entire tree up to a height of 15 feet. Another quote we had had for the same thing was north of $1500 IIRC. So tree trimming (like a lot of services) can be all over the place.

Tree removal is usually a lot more expensive. We're probably going to need to have that done soon as our front yard's pine tree is dead (killed by invasive species). I'm expecting that to be at least a couple thousand.
