AngryHusker88
I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm confident we'll win, I really don't see us losing to Iowa State at home (of course, I thought we'd beat Texas Tech). I just want to win, even if we win 19-18, I'll be happy. I'm also hoping to see Cody Green start - I feel even despite our poor offensive line play, he provides a spark to our offense. Even if he has more turnovers than Zac Lee, I feel he'll also put more points on the board. As long as we can put points on the board, our defense can keep us in football games. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
The only way this would be close to a trap game is if we had won handily last weekend against Tech. Tech was a real trap game. Considering the wakeup call the team recieved last weekend this game can't be further from a trap game. Quote Link to comment
Cy the Cyclone
Why? Easy...at this point, it seems that the only thing that is going to placate the Husker fanbase is a total blow out of Iowa State this weekend. At the beginning of the season, ISU was automatically marked at a W on the season tally sheet. Everyone was very (perhaps over) confident that the Clones from Ames would come over to Lincoln to roll over and play dead just like they have every other year since 1977. Now, there has been a minor bump in the road and fans seem to be getting a bit frustrated. They want their Huskers back as a dominating force and they want it NOW. And in walks the Cyclones. What the fans are demanding is a total blow out of the Clones. They don't want to eeke out a 7 point win...they don't want something close. They want a slaughter! I know the players and the coaches are hearing that every day...don't just beat em...kill em! Huskers win? Who cares...they were destined to win anyway Huskers lose? Pandemonium! Nope...it's got to be a blowout. Players are going to be pressing...mistakes will be magnified...players will be getting hurt trying to go that extra mile to post 60-70 points up on the board. Cyclone fans...heck, we'd like to win it. Our players are going to try to win it but with a new coach and most of the cards stacked against them...it's not going to kill them or the fans if they don't win it. But, if Nebraska doesn't win it...and win it big...it might actually kill a few people. Pressure is on these Husker kids...try to take it easy on em. Makes the game more enjoyable for all of them. I haven't been here long, but from my experience all of your posts look exactly like this. Basically this amounts to "No, seriously guys. Iowa St. is good, I swear. No really..." and "The newly mediocre Cyclones will give the Huskers a run for their money, you just watch. I'm ignoring the fact that the 'Clones might have to face a different quarterback than they've seen from Nebraska all year. Even though he is a true dual-threat and a huge threat, I'm going to ignore that and keep saying things about Nebraska that show that I am no more than a somewhat-ignorant casual fan who likes to take the occasional stroll around an opponents forum. Things like 'Nebraska has no leg to stand on at this point', adding extreme melodrama with statements like 'Players are going to be pressing...mistakes will be magnified...players will be getting hurt trying to go that extra mile to post 60-70 points up on the board.' If that's not enough, I've got a few condescending impressions of husker fans and their 'thirst for blood' up my sleeve, just to instigate the poo-flinging." Classy. And your point is....? Yellowjacketfan
You can't have a trap game after a horrific loss.... if anything ISU should have rooted for NU to win last week so that the emotional let down of this game would set it up as a trap. As it stands, I think this is the furthest thing from a trap game as possible. the whole team will be angry and fired up and out to prove a point. Quote Link to comment

Well, I cant argue with that if you have just accepted what I have stated above. If you're okay with that, then there's nothing I can contest. Quote Link to comment
Incandenza
Well, I only get to one game per year and I'll be at this one. The only home games I've been to that were wins were W. Mich last year and Nevada the year before. (I did go to Mich. St. in Lansing in 97 and the 05 Alamo Bowl but obviously those weren't home games) Sorry, but I'm still going. Quote Link to comment
huskerswrkhavoc
who wants to lay the spread of 18 points! No qb and we are favored by 18? I'll take the points. If last week was any indication...the Huskers will be hard pressed to score 18 points. What about the games against teams with similar D's in the Sun Belt? What do those games suggest? I can't really say I've accepted what you stated above...but I have discounted it as gibberish from a brain-addled moron so I guess that's something you can hang your hat on eh? Quote Link to comment

I was completely wrong and didn't give Iowa State the credit they deserved. My hat is off to Iowa State. They were the better football team today. Quote Link to comment
