Overland Park Husker
Is it possible we are over working our kids? First Smith lost for the season and now Fisher? 2 broken legs are freak injuries not a result of over working Quote Link to comment
HuskerNMO
Tough for Sean, hope he recovers and eventually gets a 6th year since he already burned his shirt. Quote Link to comment
Danny Bateman
I remember not too long ago, Matt May was actually looked at as possibly our best LB (last year, before Dillard stepped up and when Compton and Fish were still adjusting and very green). Hopefully he can step up, but, if not him, someone will. Have faith. Terrible news to hear about Sean. Someone said he had bulked up a bit from last year (hard for him) and he seemed primed for a good season. I guess those Fisher kids just have leg troubles. Quote Link to comment

Or maybe there's a problem under the field that no one has yet considered... Quote Link to comment
huKSer
Is it possible we are over working our kids? First Smith lost for the season and now Fisher? Remember the late 90s and the rash of pubic injuries due to new strength training exercise? Quote Link to comment
AndyDufresne
Is it possible we are over working our kids? First Smith lost for the season and now Fisher? The last thing we want to do is create a soft team by having less contact or strenuous workouts. A couple of freak accidents shouldn't change anything. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
This is horrible news, but the reality is that it's better that it happens now than in the season. We have two weeks to get someone up to speed with the #1s. Quote Link to comment
blackshirt2
I feel bad for Fisher, but hopefully he will have a full recovery and be ready for next year. Now it is time for the others to elevate their game. Also, how has Matt May been doing? Quote Link to comment
Foppa
Glad there is plenty of depth on the mediocre LB unit to replace the mediocre LB. So amazed that people are acting like NU just lost Prince, Gomes, and Dennard. Hope to see Fish bounce back and play well next year, but really, other than depth, this isn't huge. blackshirt2
sounds as if another defensive player was injuried today as well. Quote Link to comment

NuRedshirt
From what I understand, Fisher was the one injured today no one else. But it was confirmed that he broke his leg, terrible news to hear. We will rise above this and our defense will still be great. I wish today was Sept. 4th. I can't wait. Quote Link to comment

I see what you are saying about the depth at LB, but I wouldn't call him mediocre. Fact is even though he is replaceable he was the best at his position and him being out will hurt the team. If nothing else the increased reps the other guys will have to play will have an impact. Don't down play this, this is a big deal. Quote Link to comment

We have Compton but we still need someone else to step up otherwise we will have problems. Quote Link to comment
