knapplc
LINK to LJS article with some pictures. My pictures linked below. There's no word yet what damage, if any, happened to the Track. I talked to a couple of firefighters as they were putting their equipment away but, understandably, they couldn't comment. Adult novelty store burns in downtown LincolnFirefighters battled Sunday morning to put out a scorching fire at a downtown adult novelty store. Surrounding streets were blocked off to assist their efforts. Traffic has been closed off on O Street from Ninth to 10th and on 10th Street from L to O. Lincoln Fire and Rescue and the Lincoln Police Department were dispatched to the three-story blaze at Romantix, 921 O St., shortly before 9 a.m. Temperatures were about 8 degrees. Nine fire engines -- three with ladders -- are on scene. Additional off-duty firefighters were called in, along with the American Red Cross. Here are links to my pics of the aftermath: Picture 1 Picture 2 Picture 3 Picture 4 Picture 5 Picture 6 Quote Link to comment
krc1995
I can't imagine that smoke damage will harm Sidetracks too much Quote Link to comment
okaive
Glad to see the American Red Cross was there. I mean we wouldn't want any harm to all those magazines and DVDs. What would all the students do without them? Quote Link to comment
Parl Celini
Ya, I just went out to lunch with my roommate and his parents and saw all the firetrucks. I didn't see much because the entire road was closed, but there was still smoke coming out and firetrucks were still shooting water on the building. It looked pretty bad. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Good news! Just read this on Facebook: You may have heard about the fire in downtown Lincoln today. Cinema X next door to the Sidetrack was destroyed. Due to unbelievably exceptional work by the Lincoln Fire Fighters, the Sidetrack building survived with only a trench being made in the roof. We are forever grateful to you guys, and to our customers: We'll be back for the Spring Game. Quote Link to comment
