n.e.husker
http://huskerextra.com/sports/football/article_3e0c7ac0-7985-506c-a092-51e54fe709e9.html Husker followers adore him. When another football game is on, and a kicker misses wide-right or hooks it left, it's not uncommon to hear someone around here say: "Alex would have made it." They say it with certainty, because he practically made them all at Nebraska. He attempted 76 field goals and made 68. He attempted 195 extra points and made 194. He is the most-accurate kicker in NCAA history. I have a feeling losing Alex will leave a void similar to that left by Suh last season. He is one of the greats and will be missed(understatement). He's going to have a great pro career. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
It's not just his PAT/FG abilities that we'll miss. His punting skills will be sorely missed as well. Quote Link to comment
Haspula
I don't know if we will ever find a kicker that is just as good as him Quote Link to comment
kansas husker
To say that Alex will be missed is an understatement. If we made it to the other teams 30 it was easy points. If we didn't Alex would make sure the D had the other team pinned deep. Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
The greatest Nebraska kicker of all time. I can't wait to watch him on Sundays especially if he goes to a playoff contender. Quote Link to comment
darkhorse85
It's pretty amazing how much talent Nebraska has had at kicker over the years. I wish Alex nothing but the best. Quote Link to comment
okaive
I think we need to get his tests and arrange it so he fails so he gas to come back next year. Quote Link to comment
GMoose
I think we need to get his tests and arrange it so he fails so he gas to come back next year. If only it worked out that way Quote Link to comment
huskernumerouno
Complete package as a kicker and person. He will kick for a while in the NFL. Quote Link to comment
huskersrule95
He is going to be a HUGE loss from both the extra point/field goal kicking standpoint and the punting standpoint. Whoever replaces him next year is going to have HUGE shoes to fill replacing the best college kicker EVER!! Quote Link to comment
NUance
It wasn't just that Henery made 18 of 19 field goals this year. Ten of those were from beyond 40 yards. Two were from past 50. His "miss" was actually blocked. The 51 yarder against Mizzou. That doesn't really take away from Henery's accuracy. The guy is money. Quote Link to comment
jsneb83
I say we retire his jersey. Who's with me? Quote Link to comment
walksalone
I concur, but who's waiting in the wings to fill his shoes? Quote Link to comment
