10 grand for Mizzou. Nice. Not many more came to the '08 Big 12 Championship game.

It does matter though - from a fan's perspective, this is how we really impact the program. Every college envies the kind of support Nebraska gets every single year. Bama can't even say that.

And it bears mentioning, since egos are on the line:

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Alabama's annual A-Day Game will be televised live to a national audience by ESPNU on Saturday, April 16. A-Day is the 15th and final practice of the spring with kickoff from Bryant-Denny Stadium scheduled for 2 p.m. (CDT). As it is each year, admission is free to the public.

They do not have any secret new offensive plays or thoughts, so it is safe. Also they have more money than Nebraska and do not need to fill their stadium for income. They also know the dangers of televising it Nationally, and the adverse fan thoughts of actually being able to see the game even if living in Alaska.

Nebraska, beginning to be all about the Number 1, thats bucks of course.

My comments are not an attack on Nebraska, just stating fact that the spring game is about money and money only. If Bo had his druthers it would not be open to the public is my guess.

I have no problem, other than there are far more fans out of state than in state that want to see the game. Other programs have figured a way to make money from it and televise it. As forward thinking as we claim to be, we should be able to do it. I honestly doubt that televising it would lower the numbers much. If it did, then the fan base is not quite as strong as we like to think.

If I was within 200 miles of the game I would be there televised or not. Too much fun to miss.

$667,840.00 plus consessions. Nice pay day for the Athletic Department and a nice payday for the business community of Lincoln.

Tex-ass gives up free tickets and can't even get 30,000. Guess their fans are mostly bandwagon.

Up until this point, I had been blissfully memory-impaired to the fact that I spent more on concessions than I did on the tickets. Dammit.

Pretty tough to call out bama fans with the kind of attendance they have every year. They are crazy and sometimes rude but they are always there. I think their consequetive sell outs are about the closest to us. I realize your probably not calling the fans out really just thought I would say something nice about them since 90% of my family is bama fans.

Unless a lot of those 43k were dressed as empty seats, Georgia came nowhere close to that number. I would say it was closer to 30 or 35k. Guess it really is hard to tell when tickets are free.

ditto for lsu. I was watching the highlights of their game a few weeks back and it looked closer to 250 rather then 25000. They probably were out sucking on a crawdad head in the parking lot.
