T_O_Bull
I will be retiring in 5 years and I have always wantede to go Wild Boar hunting. Anybody ever contemplatede this? Been looking at rifles and thought .50 cal. would be good but evidently not. Any advise? Thanks, T_O_B Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Obviously the .50 cal is probably gonna make a mess. I would suggest a .223 or no bigger than a .308. Probably depends on the size of hog too, but I'm no expert. Have fun though, those bastards are everywhere! Quote Link to comment
strigori
I remember a friend telling me of some guys in Florida who would go hog hunting with just a bowie knife, duct tape and some dogs.... not how I would do it though... Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
Sounds fun Bull. Out here (AZ) they chase Javelena. You might consider using a muzzle loader..I had a coworker that really enjoyed tinkering around with one. ...To further curtail hunt pressure and better distribute hunters, permit-only HAM (handgun, archery, and muzzleloader) hunts were initiated in 1974, and archery hunting was limited to permit-only hunting in 1992. In 2006, Arizona began offering javelina permits for fall seasons as well as spring seasons.... Quote Link to comment

Duct tape? Was that to keep their entrails from falling out while being transported to the hospital? Quote Link to comment
ADS
I went Boar hunting last year and used my .308, and that definatly did the trick. Also, if you want a place to go look at No Mercy Hunting in Oklahoma. My Father, and myself went there last year and had a great time. I took a 175 pound Russian Boar, and my Dad took a 225 pound Russian Boar. Great guides, great hunting ground, and great lodging. If you also have a little extra cash to spend, ask if you can take a Ram they have on the property. They have Black Hawaiians, and some other species. Quote Link to comment
Bradr
Do it right. Don some period armor, get a few hunting dogs, and stab the piggy with one of these: Quote Link to comment

krc1995
Friends of mine go to a ranch in Texas. It is all inclusive, cabins to stay in and great meals prepared daily. and you hunt on their land. I believe they even process the hogs for you. If you want the name let me know and i'll get the name for you. Quote Link to comment
