PaulCrewe
Paul, is this kid kind of like Patrick Cobb, I think he played out at kentucky, kind of played QB, RB, WR. I am sure you mean Randall Cobb. And yes, sans Cobb's speed but not by much. Background for others here Randall was All SEC Freshman team and then first team All SEC the rest of his career at Kentucky. In his career he totaled 1700 receiving yards, 1300 rushing, 700 passing and 1600 returning. The deal with Moore is he could easily flip to the other side of the ball and be a lock down corner(perfect size at 6'2) or bulk up and be a very good safety. He did it all for his HS, his coach tried to play him at WR this year, but he ended up having to do it all on a very good team. Who the hell is Patrick Cobb? Why would I have said that? I might as well have said Bob Cobb from Seinfeld! Thanks though, that is kind of what I thought. Patrick Cobb was a pretty good RB that played for North Texas back a couple of years ago when they were good. He was drafted and played for the Dolphins, not sure who he is with now Link to comment
PaulCrewe
I really want this kid. He's been talked up in conversations down here in east Texas. Dynamic athlete. He'll have a chance to play QB elsewhere and I believe we're recruiting him as a WR, but I think our coaches and his trip to Lincoln made a good impression on him, so he'll have a tough choice to make, but I think he'll make his decision in the next few weeks. He has been to Lincoln 3 or 4 times. He has camped here. And yes the staff would like him as a WR, but as I have said there are plenty of options of where to play him. Miss State is making a strong push for Alonzo Link to comment

He did alot for LSU, CB, WR, returns, and may have done some wildcat . Now look at him blowing up the NFL with his returns. Link to comment

girlknowsfootball
Moore... he is an interesting one. I think we would give him a look at QB, but the coaches that have been mostly talking to him are defensive coaches. It appears they are looking first at him as a DB, second at him as a WR, and third at him as a QB... he has enough athleticism and size to play any of those... but which he will excel most at will have to be determined once the staff gets ahold of him. Ultimately... I think Raymond gets him in the backfield if he comes to NU... but I do think this guy is a fall back guy. If we get Rios/Seisay/McNeill/Diggs... 3 of those guys, then maybe we take Moore at WR if we don't have any other BIG Fish commit at any position and we have room for him. I think this is the guy that gets pushed aside if someone big bites and we need to find that guy a spot. Link to comment

But yes, the ability as you said and I mentioned earlier to play on the defensive side of the ball is there. 1 Link to comment

You really think we take this guy over some of the 4* and 5* we have on the board right now? I mean if we want a second WR and this is our guy I can understand that one position, but I just don't see how we fit all the guys we are going after in if they want N. You think we take 4-5LB, 2 DE, 1 DT, 2 QB, 2 WR, 3 OL, 1 FB, 3-4 DB 2 TE? For us to take that many then there's gotta be some kids transferring out or taking medical hardships and quitting like last year. Link to comment
PaulCrewe
Think the second WR. The FB and second TE(which is really needed) and fifth LB are more added bonuses and fall back plans at this point. Link to comment
gratefullred
I have concerns over a QB missing spring ball and playinng baseball. I know there are countless examples of it being done before, just feel it would be easier at DB or WR. Link to comment
